I work for a corporation and like most publicly-traded corporations, they've gotten on board with the DEI nonsense. For the past 3 years, the company conducts an anonymous survey to gauge their success and each year, the numbers have gotten worse - not better. This year, I was able to review the anonymized comments and was pleasantly surprised. Here's a sampling:

Over-emphasis and creating financially compensated KPIs against such measures give a pretense that
actions are motivated by metrics unfairly discarding the skills of individuals hired/promoted fitting certain
categories and tainting the broad employee opinion that the 'best' employee is hired and/or promoted, i.e.
leaves the perception that individuals are hired / promoted to hit a metric for financial payout to certain
group

The focus should be on bringing everyone together. We are blessed to work here! We
should embrace what Martin Luther King said, we should judge a person by the content of their character
and not the color of their skin.

Stop bending over backwards in order to unreasonably be diverse or equitable. Sometimes geographic
locations are an indicator of just how diverse a company can be, without simply going completely out of
their way in order to achieve some level of diversity, that was most likely taken as proxy from some other
geographic location.

Stop pushing DE&I as a religion! Value people as individuals, not as a representative of one group or
another. End the "diversity" goals! If each individual is uniquely valuable, then the more people you have
the more diverse you will be, regardless of any group identity.

With hiring initiatives to meet diversity
requirements, all this did was delay operations needs especially in an environment where candidates are
scarce to begin with. Hiring the most qualified person should be the most important criteria for a new hire,
not diversity. Also could see having a diverse interview panel as a negative. Being diverse, I was asked
to be in countless interviews, and it became more of a nuisance and irritation versus anything else.

As a while male I feel discriminated against. Through these DEI efforts, it has been made clear to
me that as a while male, I am not eligible for promotions or advancements. Or said a different way,
you've made it clear that 'diverse' candidates will be selected above 'non-diverse' candidates in
order to meet management KPI metrics

This company has fallen, like so many other companies, for the societal idea of social justice, diversity and equity. I
am all for equal opportunities but equal outcomes is a farce that society is pushing. Also, why can't there
be a Christian EBRG <employee business resource group> supporting a Christian worldview? Supporting one worldview such as LGTBQ is
favoring a sector vs. true diversity.

Stop with the religious fervor of DE&I. We are all unique individuals. Drop the "diversity goals" in hiring
and promotion, and quit reporting on it. I recognize the pressure from the investment community, but the company
needs to push back - and push back hard! Reassess what the role of the corporation is - it is not there to
indoctrinate employees into this divisive ideology! DE&I may sound good, but is shameful in practice

Unfortunately, these comments were not made available to the entire organization - only a subset. I think if more people saw what others were saying anonymously, more people would realize that they're not alone.

But the White Pill here is that, at least in my company, there is a strong push back against the DEI initiatives pushed by the Board.

I have been a Democrat my entire life. I live in Los Angeles. I was an actress for years. I voted for Obama, then Clinton. I couldn’t wait to vote against the ban on gay marriage. I supported Planned Parenthood. I called JK Rowling “TERF.” I read books like THE NEW JIM CROW in an attempt to “educate” myself. I was a Democrat through-and-through, and more than that—I was even onboard with wokeism, with equity (as opposed to equality), with intersectional feminism, etc. These people had me pretty much hook, line, and sinker.

Then in Summer 2020 I was encouraged to go out and engage in “firey but mostly peaceful protests” but was told it was still unsafe for me to go to work. That didn’t make sense. Nothing around me made any sense whatsoever. And I really needed to go back to work. Whenever I brought this up, I was told I was being selfish or even “racist.” Indeed, whenever I saw talk—whether online or on corporate news—of those who took issue with lockdowns, it was always framed as an issue of selfishness, even of racism. For some reason, liberal folks had this idea that anyone remotely concerned over lockdowns was a wealthy white woman who was just bored and wanted to get her hair and nails done. I felt like screaming at everyone, “who do you think does hair and nails?” Hairdressers and nail artists, whose jobs are ESSENTIAL TO THEM. Everyone is an “essential worker” to himself and the people who may depend upon him.
What bothered me the most wasn’t that these people disagreed with me, or that they had different ideas on how best to handle covid or BLM unrest—what bothered me the most was that they absolutely refused to recognize I might have any honest reasons for disagreeing with them. And I had honest reasons for disagreeing with them. I and MANY others were being harmed by the tyrannical, overreaching, nonsensical response to covid—especially in blue cities and states. That felt like a punch to the gut, from the people I’d supported and aligned with all my life.

So I walked away from the Democrat party. They’ve proven me correct every damn day since then. #walkaway

Michael Malice defines a "white pill" as something that suggests or confirms that, while it is possible we might lose, it is not possible that we must lose. And while I expect the Clown Show thread to end up being longer and more active than this one, that is not a reason to abandon all hope. There are no guarantees, but quality can win out over quantity.
