Post Biden just knee-capped TX, MS Governors for not following CDC guidelines on masks

Turns out new POTUS is not that different from last one when it comes to covid restrictions, masks, strong push for vaccine aka "Christmas Miracle":

    Last POTUS:

Trump knee-capped Georgia Governor Kemp for not following strict CDC lockdown guidelines

#BREAKING: President Trump says that he told Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp that he disagrees "strongly" with his decision to open up certain businesses at the end of this week. #gapol #Coronavirus

I think will make all other rep governors think long and hard about opening up

    Cuurent POTUS:

President Joe Biden slams governors for lifting mask mandates, calls it ‘Neanderthal thinking’

    • Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, both Republicans, announced Tuesday they would allow businesses to reopen at 100% capacity and lift mask mandates.
    • President Joe Biden on Wednesday called the decisions a “big mistake.”
    • “The last thing, the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking, that, ‘In the meantime, everything’s fine. Take off your mask. Forget it.’ It still matters,” Biden said.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday slammed states that repealed Covid-19 restrictions on businesses and rescinded mask mandates for residents, calling the moves a “big mistake.”
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, both Republicans, announced Tuesday they would allow businesses to reopen at 100% capacity and lift mask mandates. Biden’s remarks were in response to shouted questions from the press specifically about the two states.
“Look, I hope everybody’s realized by now these masks make a difference,” Biden told reporters at the White House. “We are on the cusp of being able to fundamentally change the nature of this disease because of the way in which we’re able to get vaccines in people’s arms. ... The last thing, the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking, that, ‘In the meantime, everything’s fine. Take off your mask. Forget it.’ It still matters.”

This will send a message to other governors... think twice/thrice before disregarding Presidential/CDC masks and social distancing guidelines.

If you're confused about which parties bear blame and how much of it when it comes to these COVID responses that are imposed by partnerships between the state and federal governments, the rule of thumb is that when Trump was president, 100% of the blame belonged to the governors, but now that Biden is president, we can blame him too.

Sadly, I have no trouble at all believing that this will be borne out as truth. Welcome to the Trump legacy.

That's only according to Trump and Fox News. Any other news outlet is the opposite, 100% of the blame is on Trump.

I was thinking more about the spin that has dominated here at this website. But yes, you're right that since 2016, this has been pretty interchangeable with Trump's own spin/Fox News/Limbaugh-Hannity-etc.

I remember Trump saying over and over it is time to open up the country. We didn't know what it was before but we do now. There are great medicines out there. We can treat it now......He said that for months and months. Tell your Governors to open up!! Your governor.... Trump called them out.

There were always great, effective, medicines. Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin. But the fact that there were treatments in the arsenal that were effective had to be shutdown as 'conspiracy theory' so they could keep $#@! closed and approve a vaccine.

Some GOP lawmakers are critical of his of the term:

Marsha Blackburn defends neanderthals following Biden criticism

They're "hunter-gatherers, they're protectors of their family, they are resilient," Blackburn said of Neanderthals, who are now extinct.

    Business Insider 7 hours ago

Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee defended Neanderthals after President Joe Biden criticized Texas and Mississippi for lifting their mask mandates and called the decision "Neanderthal thinking."
"I hope everyone's realized by now these masks make a difference," Biden told reporters Wednesday. "The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime everything's fine, take off your mask, forget it. It still matters."
In a Fox Business interview Thursday morning, Blackburn suggested it was actually a good thing to be called a Neanderthal.
"Neanderthals are hunter-gatherers. They're protectors of their family. They are resilient. They're resourceful. They tend to their own," the GOP senator said. "So I think Joe Biden needs to rethink what he is saying."

Or is there some politically correct evaluation/comparison cut-off timeline wrt past public servants record that we all should should try to adhere to...

GOPA wing supporters routinely bring up Hillary Clinton, Obama (and their top funders) years after they left office.

Abe Lincoln left office over a century ago and Trump seemed to compare Lincoln's record against his during every other speech almost:

You'd probably have a point there if Don the Con didn't insist on still trying to make himself relevant even after setting up his own supporters to be labeled domestic terrorists and handing $megabillions to vaccine corps, introducing us to the-man-who-will-not-go-away, his Jesuit buddy Fauci, and all the rest of what is now manifesting under the fake Biden administration. If he wants to be forgotten then he should disappear into the sunset like most ex-Presidents do instead of continuing to force himself upon everyone.

On topic: I think this reopening narrative is required since the shots (should stop calling them vaccines since they aren't) will later rely on easy spreading of real coronaviruses which trigger the cytokine storms that doomed past coronavirus vaccines from production due to bad outcomes. This Governor-Biden drama is false opposition filler. They were exceedingly efficient at actually killing the test animals that received the shots once later challenged with a real virus. That is likely why animal testing was completely skipped for the covid shots. Can't get people to take them when the test animals all died soon after. Kinda spoils the surprise...

Are we sure he didn't mean it as a compliment? To him a neanderthal has a mental capacity that he does not.

Trump appears to intend to run in 2024. And he appears to be the front-runner. Even if he doesn't have the party establishment behind him, and in spite of all his baggage, he'd still be the odds on favorite to get the Republican nomination if he does run. A lot can change in 3 years. But it seems to me that we should work with the assumption that he is the Republican front runner, and being this far ahead of an election never stopped us from criticizing people in that position before. We should treat him the same way we would have treated anyone else in that position from the vantage point of this site's mission. And while the opinions of outsiders who frequent the site with other agendas that oppose our mission are welcome, we shouldn't let them make us feel like we need to cater to them.

    EM.
That seems to be the case and agree with highlighted part.
Disagree on second part though, more likely that 'diehard' republican MAGAites will ditch Trump before 2024 same way diehard Bush-Cheney fans opportunistically ditched their then heroes.

Besides that, it may take a while before non-fakenews and fakenews can be separated given the range of speculative noise in MSM linked news outlets like yahoo (entertainement section), BI, wash examiner, etc.

'Fake news': Adviser to Trump denies report he is considering 2024 run without Pence

by Zachary Halaschak, Breaking News Reporter | March 03, 2021
Trump has been talking to advisers about the possibility of picking a running mate other than Pence if he decides to run for president again, Bloomberg reported, citing two people requesting anonymity. Trump adviser Jason Miller pushed back on the reporting minutes after it was published.
“This is fake news. No such conversations are happening,” Miller, who was a senior adviser to the president's reelection campaign, tweeted in response to the article.
The former president’s advisers reportedly discussed the possibility of tagging a black or female running mate, with some suggesting South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle, his girlfriend, are hosting a Friday fundraiser for Noem at Mar-a-Lago.
