Exclamation Biden suspends all new offshore oil drilling by Executive Order

And that's lights out for me.

Biden administration suspends federal oil and gas permitting

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKBN29Q2N1

    By Nichola Groom

(Reuters) - The Biden administration has temporarily suspended oil and gas leasing and permitting on federal lands and waters while it evaluates the legal and policy implications of the program, according to a Department of Interior memo.

The move appears to be a first step in delivering on newly sworn-in President Joe Biden’s campaign promise to ban all new federal drilling permits, part of his wider agenda to combat global climate change.

The order was welcomed by environmentalists and derided by the oil and gas industry, whose largest onshore drilling companies have stockpiled permits here in anticipation of a change in federal policy.

U.S. federal lands and waters account for close to 25% of the nation’s crude oil output, making them a big contributor to energy supply but also to America’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump had sought to maximize production of oil, gas and coal on federal acreage, and routinely downplayed threats from global warming.

    Of course it would.

    But it won't.

Even if it did, this was the killer blow to my industry.

Or brain surgery. Biden and friends can come up with a 2 week government online course that will make you a brain surgeon. Thus is the "logic" of the ignorant bureaucrats with a total disconnect from reality, that live in a Utopia of castles in the sky.

To be a government worker in woke gender studies is probably easy, but to be an expert, you must learn a new language with a redefined vocabulary. Probably not as easy as it sounds.

Paradoxically, being lobotomized first might help with this. (This would be where those 2-week online brain surgery courses come in handy ...)

So far he's only doing the easy stuff. He could implement executive orders to prevent replenishment of the strategic petroleum reserve with any oil from existing offshore sources. Likewise, he could prevent federal purchases of natural gas from fracked fields. Given that these commodities are fungible, the optics will be excellent and the near-term downside negligible.

Maybe because he knew they would override his vetoes.

Yes he did, the peace deal and the withdrawal are in progress right now.

You said they'd be out before his term was over. Make up your mind. Granted you said a lot of things that didn't come true so at least you're consistent.

He did more for draw down than most all in our lifetime. He was purposefully lied to about the number of troops in Syria. Let me guess, you're an Orange Man Bad adherent?

Again, increased spending, troops still all over the world, no transparency in our Federal Reserve. I was hoping he'd keep his word this time and get us out of Afghanistan. That would be the only reason to vote for him, but once again Trump didn't keep his word. Shouldn't you be posting at the FDR Grow Government Forum with the rest of the sellouts?

I would guess he isn't in the armed forces, and thus was not affected by the troop withdrawl.

I would guess his employment has not been significantly impacted by the Obama administration policies that were reversed by Trump or the Democrat governors who wanted to shut down the economy over COVID, while Trump was trying to keep our economy open.

I would guess they get most of their information from the fake news.

I would also guess they are really bad at strategy. Saying that Trump should veto a bill that will end up getting passed anyway is not necessarily good strategy as it requires the loss of political capital that was required to get other things done.

Thanks for answering my question. Without answering it. A simple "Yes, I hate Trump" would have done.
