    Twitter permanently bans Trump

There's some discussion about this in other threads, but there needs to be a thread with this specifically as the title. Words can't express what an enormous $#@!ing deal this is.

Read your Moldbug, people. This is what it means to have a media run state, as opposed to a state run media. The Cathedral is going for broke. The distinction between certain corporate interests and government is entirely illusory. Libertarianism needs a serious update to contend with what's coming. I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not holding my breath either.

It's going to get very bad. And I don't think it's going to get better in my lifetime.

In the long run, this might be a good thing. The alignment of interests are now totally clear. Any ridiculous aspiration to neutrality or free speech by big tech is now manifestly farcical. It's not even an aesthetic veneer anymore. This might also be the beginning of the end of the web 2.0 internet model, with a return to many small websites as opposed to 3 massive tech conglomerates. That's the best case scenario.
    NeoReactionary. American High Tory.

The counter-revolution will not be televised.

  5. #4
Libertarian discourse on the property rights of big tech ended today. It will never get any traction on the right again. The left might use it to buttress their support of big tech, but only because it supports their corporate hegemony.

Wokeness is the ruling ideology, and corporations are the main way its enforced. Analysis regarding the state and private business is, at this scale and at this point in history, entirely dated.
    NeoReactionary. American High Tory.

The counter-revolution will not be televised.

Good. I hope that Twitter et al. don't puss out and stop there. They should expunge all personae non gratae.

Let the segregation of America proceed apace. No revamping of libertarian property rights theory is required.

    Radical disunification will suffice.

Socialist Revolutionaries crack down of free speech

    .

    Twitter permanently bans Trump

This is the same kind of stuff they do in China, Venezuela, Cuba and other Communist controlled countries. No uncensored mass communications.

It seems the following may very well be in our future:

    .
    JWK

Today’s Fifth Column media ___ MSNBC, NEW YORK TIMES, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, WASHINGTON POST, ATLANTIC MAGAZINE, New York Daily News, Time, in addition to Facebook, Twitter ETC., and countless Yellow Journalists who are socialist revolutionaries ___ make Russia’s old Pravda, [an organ of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union] look like propaganda amateurs.

All the while they are allowing leaders from those same countries and Iran to speak freely. This is really bizarre.

The right should have made more of an effort to use other platforms. If Trump for example picked a competitor early on the competitor by this time would be as popular Twitter. The news media would follow since they would have to in order to cover the President.

There won't be any conservative equivalent of social media apps if Google and Apple can keep them off their platform unless they have a Cathedral-approved TOS.

All the while I see leftists comparing being banned on Twitter to a Colorado bakery refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple.

Yet, that business owner pretty much went through a nearly a decade of legal hell for holding their ground.

Any extra steps to have to use an app guarantees it will be at a significant competative disadvantage than apps that don't require that.

I'm bullish on alt-tech, but the problem is so many alt-tech firms are just copying what other Cathedral-approved apps do, just at a smaller scale, usually with a worse interface. For alt-tech to really succeed, there needs to be innovation that companies like Parler, Gab, and Bitchute just don't have.

I'm seeing that Apple is giving Parler a minute to ban free speech, and if it doesn't, it's getting deplatformed.

@Anti Federalist, you asked me how much more accelerated it could get? Welcome to the desert of the real, my friend.

So Trumps personal account was banned, but he just tweeted from the Presidential account and they banned that within two minutes.

Think about that, they banned the official POTUS account. The deep state is now in full control, I was ok with the peaceful transfer of power to Biden.... if people could still express themselves, but with the rush to impeach him with so few days left, it feels like what the Roman political system did to Gaius Julius Caesar just before he crossed the Rubicon, it's like they are daring him to do it.

I see many parallels in this video.
    Will history repeat itself?

Perhaps so. But if the heathens, heretics and apostates don't have the will and wherewithal to circumvent the Cathedral with alternative devices and platforms - or to obviate the Cathedral altogether by innovating beyond and outside of social media as it currently exists - then the Cathedral is certainly not going to allow them to use the Cathedral (in its government aspect) to force it to release its headlock.

In order for that innovation to occur, there first needs to be sufficient incentive to devote the necessary resources to the effort.

Until now, those outside the Cathedral have been able to skate by, more or less. Maybe they still will be, for a while.

But the harder Apple, Google, Twitter, Facebook, et al. push the matter, the more they'll incentivize innovative Cathedral-circumventing reaction. And the sooner and more strongly the Cathedral induces this reaction, the better. It needs to be done before the Cathedral becomes even more firmly ensconced than it already is. This is why I hope Twitter et al. will not only continue their provocations, but will hasten and intensify them - as a sort of premature ripening that leaves their poisonous fruit more vulnerable to rot than it otherwise would be.

That may be the case. But if it is, there's still no market solution to this without significant upheaval and realignment. The market itself is owned by Cathedral.

The problem with that is the kind of cultural penetration these companies have is unlikely to be upended. Parler was attempting to be a conservative alternative, but now the demands from far more powerful businesses is that they basically become Twitter, or face blacklisting. There's always another network on a more macro scale that can be attacked.

Attack the app>attack the app store>attack the payment processor>attack the web host>attack anyone who allows the app to exist within their frame of business.

It's not realistic to expect alt-tech to be able to create their own payment processors or app stores. This is the problem with it being so ideological is only ideologues are attracted to it. Alt-tech needs to offer something that appeals to those beyond their fellow travelers.

There are examples of this. Bitcoin being the most famous one, but also Moldbug's Urbit, though the latter is likely too complex to catch on in the way it should. It needs to be on that scale.

Trump Responds to Twitter’s Permanent Account Suspension

“As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me—and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me,” Trump said in a statement.

“Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long,” he added.

The president said he anticipates a “big announcement” soon and that this team is negotiating with other sites and is also looking at building a separate platform.

“I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!” he said.

“Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH. They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely,” Trump continued. “STAY TUNED!”

The statement came from the account @POTUS but the Twitter posts were gone within a few minutes.

The Chinese dossier that is kept on every person, the dang'an that in many ways determines the level of censorship that one subjected to and the level of government control, is built using "private" records in addition to public ones.

This is precisely what is now being kicked into warp speed here, with wholesale violations of the Bill of Rights now an everyday occurrence.

This is not about Trump anymore.

Endorsing Chinese style communism is not any flavor of libertarianism I've ever heard of.
