Proud Boy leader charged in connection to Capitol riot

Federal authorities issued an arrest warrant Thursday for a Proud Boy leader from Hawaii who was allegedly among rioters who stormed into the U.S.Capitol.

Nicholas "Nick" Ochs is wanted on one count of entry into a restricted building or grounds, according to an affidavit written by FBI special agent Roger Dean and signed by U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Harvey.

Ochs should be arrested based on a photo he posted on his own Twitter feed and footage him on cable news inside the building, Dean wrote. Ochs is "the leader and founder of a Hawaii chapter of the 'Proud Boys' organization," a far right extremist group, and has "PROUD BOY" tattooed on his right forearm, according to the FBI agent.

Ochs could not immediately be reached for comment Friday afternoon using phone numbers and an email address listed in public directories. Ochs ran for a seat in the Hawaii state House of Representatives as a Republican in November, and lost to Democrat Adrian Tam, 63 percent to 29.7 percent.

Proud Boys organizer Joe Biggs arrested

Kevin Johnson, USA TODAY Jan. 20, 2021

A self-described organizer for the Proud Boys, an extremist group with ties to white nationalism, was charged Wednesday in connection with the deadly Capitol riots, where federal authorities said Joseph Biggs allegedly encouraged fellow extremists.
In court documents, federal prosecutors claimed that Biggs, 37, began urging fellow members in December to join the Jan. 6 demonstration in Washington.
Biggs, arrested Wednesday in Florida, is charged with three federal counts, including unlawful entry and disorderly conduct.
Along with Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, prosecutors allege that Biggs sent multiple messages to associates, including a Dec. 29 communication in which he warned that members would forego their black and yellow colors to blend in with the crowd.

“Jan. 6th is gonna be epic,” Biggs warned.
According to an FBI affidavit, Biggs was photographed throughout the day of the riot wearing a plaid shirt while video and other evidence allegedly established that the suspect “did aid, abet, counsel, command, induce, or procure others to unlawfully enter the U.S. Capitol by means of destruction of federal property.”

Biggs and fellow Proud Boys members were photographed on the east side of the Capitol, a location that was “consistent with the directive issued by Biggs,” the FBI affidavit stated.
“None of the men pictured are wearing Proud Boys colors of black and yellow, but are instead dressed ‘incognito.’"

Biggs is later photographed inside the Capitol, where the FBI claimed he gained entry “as a direct result of the destruction of federal property.”
Video streamed on the social media site Parler later showed rioters breaching a Capitol entry.
“One of those individuals, who entered the door within 20 seconds of its opening, is a person that I believe to be Biggs,” an FBI agent stated in the affidavit. “In the video, a voice off camera says, ‘Hey Biggs, what do you gotta say?’ The person depicted …smiles broadly and replies, ‘This is awesome!’ before pulling his gaiter up to cover his face.”

Two Proud Boys members indicted on federal conspiracy charges in Capitol riot

Former Marine Dominic Pezzola faces federal conspiracy charges in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

    By JENNIFER PELTZ
    Associated Press

    Jan. 30, 2021 10:54 AM PT
NEW YORK — Two men identified as members of the Proud Boys have been indicted on federal conspiracy and other charges in the Capitol riot as prosecutors raise the stakes in some of the slew of cases stemming from the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Dominic Pezzola, a former Marine who authorities say was seen on video smashing a Capitol window with a stolen Capitol Police riot shield, and William Pepe, who authorities said was photographed inside the building, were arrested earlier in the month on federal charges that included illegally entering a restricted building. The two, both from New York state, have now been indicted in Washington on charges that newly include conspiracy.
“The object of the conspiracy was to obstruct, influence, impede and interfere with law enforcement officers engaged in their official duties in protecting the U.S. Capitol and its grounds,” the indictment says, accusing Pezzola, Pepe and unnamed others of leading a group of Proud Boys and others to the Capitol and moving police barricades there.

Pezzola went on to snatch an officer’s shield and use it to break the window, according to the indictment, which was filed in court Friday.

Pezzola’s lawyer Michael Scibetta said Saturday that he was researching the charges and hadn’t been able yet to discuss the indictment with his client, who is being held without bail. A lawyer for Pepe, Shelli Peterson, declined to comment.

FBI Informant Panic Is Ruining Friendships All Over the Far Right

Will Sommer, Kelly WeillSat, February 13, 2021, 11:24 PM

As federal authorities crack down on the far right after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the movement’s leaders have found new sources of suspicion: each other.
In the Trumpist “America First” movement and the far-right paramilitary group the Proud Boys, alliances are fracturing as extremists brand each other as potential informants. Now racist live-streamers are accusing their former comrades of attempting to turn over followers to law enforcement, while Proud Boys chapters are splintering from the national organization over similar fears.
Proud Boys Dealt Another Blow as Feds Crack Down
Until the FBI started closing in, white nationalists Nick Fuentes and Patrick Casey were the two most prominent figures in the racist “America First” movement.
The pair built up shared audiences on live-streaming platforms, and cheered as their fans, nicknamed “groypers” after an obese version of the cartoon Pepe the Frog, heckled more moderate Trump allies at conservative events.
But the federal heat is on after Fuentes received roughly $250,000 in a much-scrutinized bitcoin transfer, then appeared outside the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot. The FBI is reportedly investigating the bitcoin transfer, though Fuentes has not faced charges over the money or the riot.

Trump Jr. Walks Out Of Event Promoting His Book "Triggered" After He’s Heckled, Booed By Conservatives
    November 11, 2019

Donald Trump Jr. has been on a media tour promoting his new book, “Triggered,” which has led to many acts of protest against the son of the president.
Trump Jr. purports in his book that liberals are doing harm to the nation and standing in the way of his father’s vision for the country. But on Sunday, it was a group of conservatives who booed him off the stage, not liberal-leaning anti-Trump protesters, The Independent reported.

Beyond the sort of heckling Trump faced, the network’s tactics usually focus on asking speakers specific and very leading questions about Israel, immigration, and LGBTQ issues within conservatism, hoping to elicit answers that reveal the speaker’s “fake conservatism.” “Real conservatism” being defined essentially as an emphasis on ethnic and racial characteristics as determinants for immigration coupled with an isolationist foreign policy and a “traditional” stance on LGBTQ issues.

    Nick Fuentes and “America First”

The groyper army is led in part, or at least symbolically, by Nick Fuentes, a 22-year-old former conservative radio host and Unite the Right attendee who hosts a YouTube show called “America First.”

And Fuentes and his army believe that they are the real conservatives and the true inheritors of conservatism, the last real defenders of what they view Trumpism to actually be standing against the “unelected face of Trumpism” in Kirk and other pundits. While Charlie Kirk and others enjoy close ties to the White House, Fuentes and the groyper army believe that he and similar figures are betraying Trump by allowing LGBTQ conservatives within the movement and advocating for legal immigration.

This kind of story might prompt the question of whether or not the fallout of this kind of work by Trump and members of his retinue might even extend to this website.

Do those who have been around for the past 4 years and who were longtime members before that time think they can see the signs of this? Are there any posters who joined in 2015-16 who seemed to have MAGA affiliations, with the result of divisions of the old alliances that Ron and Rand established?

Well yeah of course, duh. The single highest posting handle since 2016 on RPF is the main one. Some of the old handles here were taken over and are not controlled by the original creators. Some years ago members were also offered payments for turning over their accounts and/or not commenting on certain topics. I'm sure some sold out for the 30 pieces of silver.

This is interesting because it's a common tactic to place controlled assets into leadership positions so that both sides of any issue, and the force of the masses behind them, are equally controlled and can be guided in desired directions. See: Duality of good vs evil, freemason doctrine of black/white, controlled opposition. But at the same time, these FBI informant revelations could be an effective way to sow FUD among resistance.

Or is it the unpublished third choice, that it is both, instead of the duality choice of one-or-the-other, which is the oft presented option? Given some of those people's connections with the Trump insider contingent (such as Roger Stone) I'm inclined to think it is both. I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't pick up on this regarding the Proud Boys leader's arrest. In hindsight, the story of the Proud Boy leader's arrest on the way to the protest would also have removed him from the uncomfortable position of having to actually engage in the protest and risk being caught up in the staged Capitol drama that was to ensue. Staged arrests are a common tactic to remove controlled assets from harm's way.......he was arrested yet there was no video of the arrest by him or his escorts? Even possible he never went there in the first place and this arrest story circulated to explain away his absence...

Trump appointed judge has reportedly revoked bail of a leader of pro-Trump group Proud Boys.

Judge orders Proud Boys leader charged in Capitol breach to remain jailed

By Mychael Schnell - 04/22/21 09:25 PM EDT

A federal judge ruled Thursday that a Proud Boys leader charged in connection with the Capitol riot will remain in jail.
Judge Michael Harvey determined that Charles Donohoe will remain in jail stating that his release would pose a danger to the community, according to Politico.
Donohoe was indicted in March on conspiracy charges in connection with the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol that killed several people including a Capitol Police officer.

The man is the third Proud Boys leader ordered to remain in jail while they challenge conspiracy charges in connection to the Capitol riot.

On Monday, the bails of Proud Boys leaders Ethan Nordean and Joseph Biggs were revoked by Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee. Kelly said that new evidence presented to prosecutors showed that the two men organized members of their group who participated in the Capitol attack.

Harvey determined that Donohoe was not a higher-up in the Proud Boys leadership, but said that he played a chief role in the events of Jan. 6, according to Politico. The judge concluded that the entirety of Donohoe’s conduct made him too dangerous to release before trial.
