AT IT AGAIN: Antifa mobs vandalize statues in Minneapolis, Portland, others to fight ‘colonization’
While most Americans celebrated Thanksgiving with turkey and mashed potatoes, Antifa mobs across the country celebrated with spray paint and statue-toppling.
While most Americans celebrated Thanksgiving with turkey and mashed potatoes, Antifa mobs across the country celebrated with spray paint and statue-toppling. Among the statues targeted with anti-Thanksgiving messages were President William McKinley in Chicago, a veterans monument in Portland, an Abraham Lincoln statue in Spokane, Washington and two statues in Minneapolis: one of George Washington and another celebrating pioneers. Vandals spray painted messages like “Stop colonization. End Thanksgiving” on the Washington statue in Minneapolis on Thanksgiving Eve.
A group called the Pan-Indigenous People’s Liberation took credit for the vandalism, which they said was part of a “national decolonial day of action.” The vandals also targeted a large granite monument in B.F. Nelson Park – dedicated to pioneers – with “no thanks,” “no more genocide,” “decolonize,” and “land back,” the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
The message “land back” seems to refer to the LANDBACK campaign, a Native American movement fighting white supremacy. The campaign calls for the removal of all “white supremacy structures” responsible for removing Native Americans from their land; for the defunding of white supremacy in the form of police, the military, Border Patrol and ICE; a “return of “all public lands back into Indigenous hands;” and a policy of “consent,” according to PJ Media.
On the morning of Thanksgiving, vandals attempted to destroy a statue of President William McKinley in a Chicago park, but were stopped by police. The vandals tied a rope to a police car and spray painted the statues with the same “Land Back” message, according to NBC 5 Chicago.
In Spokane, vandals covered a statue of Abraham Lincoln with red paint.
And in Portland, the Antifa mob Youth Liberation Front smashed windows and sprayed graffiti, calling for “a decentralized, anti-colonial day of action on Thanksgiving eve.”

In a year of struggle and devastation amidst a global pandemic, America has many things to be thankful for: liberty, peace, prosperity and perseverance, just to name a few. And while Antifa may try to destroy our great country, America will always prevail.
