    Sudden Change of Opinion

Which topics will experience an abrupt and mysterious shift in approval on RPF over the next two months?

    I have guesses:
    • Budget increases
    • Deficit spending
    • National debt growth
    • Law enforcement
    • Military budget increases
    • Politically beneficial military actions

I expect spirited denials by the various RPF trollkin as they seek to obfuscate and deny their true lineage.

I might be more concerned about the overwhelming majority of members who've been cheering the White House the last four years.

No skullduggery involved; they just openly endorse socialism.

How is reducing regulations and heavy handed government interference that directly affect my business and bottom line "endorsing socialism"?

How is opposing the political candidates that will increase those regulations with the stated purpose of putting me out of business "endorsing socialism"?

Your anecdote aside, there was no meaningful reduction in federal regulation.

The administration's own figures show savings in the hundreds of millions when the total annual cost of regulation is several trillion.

As for endorsing socialism, take a look at current federal spending or the current balance sheet of the central bank.

There are no more capital markets in this country. All debt and equity prices are fixed by the federal government.

Well more than half of all economic output is consumed or redistributed by the federal government.

How is opposing the political candidates that will increase those regulations with the stated purpose of putting me out of business "endorsing socialism"?
There is no important difference between Trump and Biden.

They would both have done trillions in "stimulus," all financed by the Fed.

Biden will call it "Green." Trump would have called it something else.

I find it hard to believe that anyone is paid to post here, at this tiny website with virtually no influence.

Back in the day? Sure, that's quite possible, but not now.

Now we just have genuine leftists (of the Trumpo-GOP variety), libertarians, and assorted oddballs.

ZippyJuan started posting Feb 2008. Would you consider that back in the day?

If you don't think Zip, TheCount, PRB, Sam I Am, Influenza, Dforkus. Ligant, Sonny Tufts, etc. aren't paid to post here, then why do you think they're here?

All forums have virtually no influence or very little. Sure, Reddit has the traffic, but it's too diffuse. Plus, most people post, but don't read what others post.

If you're saying that they must be paid trolls because they aren't libertarians, I think you need to take a good look around Carolina; there are hardly any libertarians here anymore (and the likes of Zippy are not in any way responsible for that fact). Even if Zippy had been a paid troll back in the day, or up to the day he was banned, he did exactly zero harm as far as I can tell. He persuaded about as many people as Baghdad Bob. The threat to the libertarian character of this site, such as it is, is clearly and entirely from the Trumpian/alt right. The Dem equivalent (BLM, Sanders, etc) has exactly zero support here and is no threat whatsoever.

All forums have virtually no influence or very little. Sure, Reddit has the traffic, but it's too diffuse. Plus, most people post, but don't read what others post.
Nonetheless, I'd be shocked if anybody here now is getting paid; some people probably were in the past. I'd guess that some of the new posters around the last election (overwhelmingly pro-Trump, not BLM types, if you recall) were paid, or at least volunteers with ulterior motives.

You can't tell because you don't pay attention. I am in contact with several people who left specifically because of these paid trolls. Others have stated the same reason before leaving here.

They are paid not because of political affiliation, but because the overwhelming evidence indicates it.

Did you ask them why they're here?

I don't recall ever asking anyone why they're here.

This is a discussion forum; if they're engaging in discussion (whatever their views), they're not acting suspiciously.

I don't go to the bowling alley and ask people who are bowling why they're there.

Suppose I asked Zippy, if he were still here, why he joined RPF.

What do you think he would say?

Do you not think he could offer a plausible, non-troll answer (e.g. to discuss politics, despite not being a libertarian)?

I already asked him. He avoided the question. I also asked The$#@!, PRB, Sam I Am, Influenza, etc. why they're here. No replies. I offered to discuss their views on minimum wage, their voting choices, etc. No discussion.

I have seen them on other sites doing the very things they do here. They're paid. You either look at the evidence or you can ignore it.

Perhaps they didn't answer because they could see and didn't appreciate the implication of your question (i.e. that they had some ulterior motive). If somebody asked me, in hostile and accusatory fashion, why I was here, I'd likely put them on the ignore list, for instance, viewing that implicit accusation as a trollish substitute for argument. Anyway, does it even really matter at this point? I feel like a Roman sitting around the garbage heap that used to the circus maximus arguing over who let the vandals in. We're all eating turnips for dinner now, so who cares?

    The REAL Revolution has begun.

We have provided the Leftists EVERY opportunity to leave us the $#@! alone. They refused to listen. They have repeatedly crossed the line in the sand. We stepped back. We drew another line in the sand. The crossed that line too. Now, because of their refusal to do the right thing for those that this country TRULY belongs to, WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA now will enact the last stage of resistance against Domestic Tyranny which does not need to be enumerated, SELF DEFENSE AGAINST THEIR VIOLENCE.

If people show up to Trump's call on January 6th for another march, I have a feeling it is gonna be the beginning of the real $#@! show. This is it folks. We are now in it.

    CIVIL WAR IS UPON US.

All it would have taken to prevent this is for the $#@!ers in office to pull their heads out of their asses and leave the FREE PEOPLE the $#@! alone. They cant. They wont. They never will. Now we have to put them back in their place.

Cant say we have not been warning them. Good luck trying to piss off the most heavily armed country in the world.

Another abrupt change could be GOP base ditching "Country First" and reverting back to "God, Family, Country" priorities model, an early indication may have been recent LGBTQ civil rights related development in Pence Country aka Indiana ( possibly ahead of Pence 2024 prep).

There may be re;atively slower shifts also, GOP base could ditch MAGA same way as it ditched Bush-Cheney but within 1-2 years unlike alomost decade long stand with W Bush.

    Here's a question for you.

What do you think is wrong with this site?

That is, what do you think these paid trolls have actually accomplished?

...because the problem I see exists just the same in real life, and I'm fairly sure those non-internet, real-life people aren't being paid to troll me.

I've already mentioned one thing they've accomplished. Address it or not. You can ask them about the issues I brought up.

I already know who these people are, but I'm not doxxing anyone. One of them works in a grocery store. I know which one, and I've seen his Fedbook page. It's not hard to find out. It takes five minutes.
Instead of blathering about "the powers that be" and half-assed conspiracy theories--how about seeing the shenanigans right under your nose and right here on RPF.
