    Ayn Rand's Favorite Novel

Ayn Rand said many times that her favorite novelist was Victor Hugo and her favorite among his novels was Ninety-Three. This is a fictional account of the French Revolution. https://www.amazon.com/Ninety-three-.../dp/B004LROPO0

Download classics for free at 'Project Gutenberg'

Interesting. Just checked and I see you can download it (or any other Hugo book) for free at Project Gutenberg. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks

Ninety three is also known by it's french title Quatravingt-treize.

I've been thinking of reading Hugo's book The Man Who Laughs (La'homme qui rit.) I've seen snippets of the silent movie. It's main character, Gwynplaine, gets kidnapped and is intentionally disfigured as a child. (Guess child-trafficking has always been around!) He is said to be the original source of the big, crazy, joker-smile.
