US Hospitals Received Up to $306,000 for Each New COVID Case; German Anti-Lockdown MD Arrested

    https://coronanews123.wordpress.com/...lding-up-book/

The things you wouldn’t know unless you read publications like Becker’s Hospital Review, US hospitals received as much as $306,000 per declared COVID case in the first round of the CARES Act funds disbursements as of April 10th.

Michigan Public Radio reports an average of $160,000 per declared case, as it complains MI go the short end of the windfalls.

“While the national average in federal assistance per patient was $160,286
, Michigan’s allotment was just $31,045 per patient.” (Report: Michigan hospitals shorted $130K per COVID-19 patient in federal aid)”

So we know the rules for counting deaths as COVID are flexible, with no less than Dr. Deborah Birx of the US Coronavirus Task Force saying : “If someone dies with COVID-19 we are counting that as a COVID-19 death.” We know 94% of the supposed 200-plus thousand COVID deaths had one, two, or three other serious comorbidities (like a heart attack) but they were all still marked down for COVID as the primary cause of death.

This is on top of the 20% Medicare add-on for any new COVID hospitalization.
No wonder flus, heart disease, and cancers are so far down.

Is it any wonder that people suspect that true COVID deaths are really a third, a quarter or some other fraction of what the CDC says?

German Doctor and Leader of 1,000 Lockdown Dissident Doctors Arrested While Speaking

Dr. Heiko Schoning MD was arrested in London while speaking at an anti-lockdown rally, at the famous Speaker’s Corner in Trafalgar Square after his microphone had been cut off during his speech on the main stage. Speaker’s Corner is a famous free speech bastion. Dr. Schoning was rushed by police, arrested, and put into a van and carted away to jail until released soon after.

Dr. Schoning said that among the itemS confiscated from him while in custody was the book “Corona, False Alarm?: Facts and Figures” by Karina Reiss Ph.D. and Sucharit Bhakti MD. The book is a runaway bestseller in Germany and has just been translated into English from German. (1,000 German Doctors and Scientists against lockdowns website and statement.)

This should give the book the attention it deserves, as it is recommended by the anti-lockdown physicians. If you don’t like what happened to Dr. Schoning, buy the book.

I think this pretty much kills the legitimacy of the official death count and explains why the medical establishment is so pro-COVID.

I couldn't find a link to that death rate chart or anything that showed data on total deaths in a month for New York State. Anyone have a link?
    thx in advance

The chart has the following link on it:
    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/14/n...us-deaths.html
... but I didn't see the chart when I went to that nytimes webpage; so I suspect it was a "home brew" chart that someone put together based upon what was on the nytimes webpage correlated with data pulled from one or more CDC webpages. I saw the chart before - I think it may have been pulled from Facebook. I tried to find the data on the CDC sites, but didn't have the patience to wade through the various pages. Yeah, they really should have sourced their data a lot better.

Check out NYS, overall death rate in 2020 vs the avg from 2014-2019 on the same day. Except for a 2 month span it's almost identical.

Looking at NYS I came up with roughly 9460 extra deaths from ~March 26-May 25 so maybe 4730 covid deaths per month
That article said for the 1 month time frame the difference was ~3000k and the 4730 I came up with is not near what the article said NYS is claiming which is 11000k covid deaths

I didn't want to go thru each day so I did an estimate
from Mar 26 to Apr 10th the death rate difference increased ~19 per day (from a +35 to a +310)
From there to the 26th the death rate difference decreased about ~9 deaths per day (from a +310 to a +175)
from Apr 26th to May 25th the death rate difference decreased about ~5 deaths per day (from a +175 to a +25)

Since May 26th the deaths have been about the same compared to 2014-2019

I've update your table to show what the NYTimes and Wash Post are reporting as the daily deaths from COVID (in red font) for the same dates (see https://github.com/nytimes/covid-19-data). Note: NYTimes only reports cumulative deaths; so I had to do some spreadsheet work to get the daily figures from that.

Just to be clear, my source shows the difference between the 2020 and the avg of other years and yours show total deaths. I'm asking because I don't understand why you posted total deaths next to what I posted, What's the relationship I'm missing. If there is one.

How can the number of deaths in a state be so different? First set is from the chart I linked. Yours are the 2nd group

    April total deaths
    1 568 486
    2 584 548
    3 607 753
    4 626 819
    5 641 800

The chart I looked at has much less. it's not a factor of being 1 day behind either. Using your numbers and taking away the previous years averages the covid deaths are a lot higher. The numbers my link shows NY State tops out at 668. Yours go over 1000. Why are they so different? How do we know which is accurate? Who do we believe?

I added the death numbers for April that you posted 21687 deaths in NY state for April. The pre covid norm has been around 13000. So almost 9000 more deaths than "average". The first link was showing a 3000k difference from similar dates.

None of this is making sense for one reason. The total number of reported deaths from our sources are very far apart.

This link is saying around 3500 a month

"There have been around 25,644 COVID-19 deaths in New York State as of October 18, 2020"
thats 7 months 25644/7=3663 per month. They are using some different criteria obviously. Of covid vs with covid. I have no idea how they came up with 25644

That agrees with the OPs number of 3k

The numbers that I posted were total deaths from COVID (as correlated by the NYTimes - which pretty much mirrors what gets shown on TV) ... which, one would think, would be somewhat close to the difference between total deaths in 2020 and the average deaths from the preceding year. But they're not - calling into question the validity of one set of numbers within the ones we're looking at (which ones I certainly can't say).

The NYTimes dataset quotes 32,972 Covid deaths through 18OCT. Different again. I think I'd question the NYTimes figures due only to the chaos that's baked into this process. If you look at a graph of their figures, you'll find that it's a sawtooth chart - indicating that individual county morgues are probably bundling reports rather than reporting them daily on the day they occur. But even averaged out over the course of seven days, the NYTimes figures are higher than the "excess deaths" calculations. But even the "excess deaths" calculations have to be in question - because the CDC doesn't generally have accurate figures until three or four months have passed since the death, because it takes that long to make the final death evaluation and get the bureaucratic paperwork filed.

It's frustrating trying to find numbers which represent reality.
