So that actually happened. Most of the movie is him having relatively unscripted moments in real life scenarios that he creates for himself. Sort of like the movie Bruno, where he got an interview with Ron Paul and put it in the film.
The films also contain a lot of homosexual pornography.

Borat feels like such a relic from the 2000s, especially considering how non-updated the sequel seems to be. A Hollywood millionaire making fun of Republicans for a bunch of bourgeois people who hate Fox News like it's still 2006.
A Borat sequel that is really as transgressive in 2020 as the first one was 15 years ago would be very interesting, but that's not what we're going to get. Instead we get more of the weird, pseudo-transgression that has to be made palatable to millenials in humanities departments and social media activists.
