Depends on how lotto entries are picked. Is there a minimum number of lotto entries?

We're being governed ruled by a geriatric Alzheimer patient/puppet whose strings are being pulled by an elitist oligarchy who believe they can manage the world... imagine the utter maniacal, sociopathic hubris!

As if the lottery wouldn't be rigged.

The odds of getting a good candidate would be very low.

Put names in a hat and pick one? Is that what you are suggesting?
Maybe the problem is not the candidates but the indoctrinated, emotional voter, and a rigged media.

    Worse on policy.
    Same on character.

I would go with election by lottery if all people in the lottery had to pass a competency test, needed to score 140 or higher on IQ test, and were screened for morality/values.

You want to fix elections then get rid of political party identification at the polls. No voting party line or party designation. Have the voter write in a name for each position forcing them at least to know something about who they are voting for.

In advance of elections have candidates respond to a voter information document that provides their position on each topic. If the politician fails to answer any of the questions given to them for the brochure they are denied ballot access.

    Agreed!

What about only doing write-ins and not actually have registered candidates?

I'm for having a ballot that has "None of the Above" as a choice and if it gets more votes, the office is abolished.

What about separation of political candidates from media news.
Who is in charge of media the FCC? That entity needs overhauled or disbanded. Fines should be levied for all false reporting.
