Mr. Alvarez brought tears to my eyes. I know why so many people want history like this erased.

When I lived in Florida, I worked with a lot of Haitians and learned to respect many of them. They were good and decent God-fearing people thankful that they were in America and loved America. The stories they told me, made my heart ache about what the heinous dictators; Papa Doc and his son, Baby Doc did to them and their families. One co-worker was shot three times, left for dead, and watched his entire family murdered by Baby Doc's henchmen.

More pampered trust-fund baby's should hear these stories about how communism ripped apart their countries. I think these pampered trust-fund baby's would reconsider any idea that communism is good and be thankful and love America, as the people that fled their countries do.

It was a nice thought, that little speech, but all it does is perpetuates “left versus right“, elections and all.

On this forum, yes. In the US population, the majority are blind to where socialism leads. The majority are pro-socialism (Democrat and Republican style), with a disturbing number of young people fully embracing it (Democratic Socialists), because they are ignorant of history.

Yes, it's the GOP convention and they throw in some praise for Trump. Every speech has to do it. Maximo did it for about 20 seconds at the beginning and the end. The 5 minute meat of his speech is what was important.

It probably killed Nikki Haley to have to do it, but she even put some praise of Trump in there somewhere with her self-promoting kick-off speech for Nikki 2024. The mainstream media had no problem with thoroughly praising her for her performance.

Admittedly, the video would be better and more persuasive if there was no mention of Trump.

Part of the point though is that the media mostly showed and praised Nikki Haley's pre-POTUS 2024 speech. If they didn't show that, they showed Don Jr's. unhinged girlfriend (Guilfoyle) for the crazy effect. Several of the other speeches were better, with Maximo making the best case against socialism.

So far have spent about 60 seconds on all DNC/RNC speeches and this is the only speech sampled so far.
Cuban-Americans tend to be great orators, this speech (parts that I watched) almost reminded me of Marco Rubio speech few years back on American Dream, land of opportunity, melting pot/'diversity is our strength' model. Not sure where this guy is going in politics but today Rubio is very close to being a future Prez and probably biggest recepients of king maker globalist neoconservative Adelson funding behind equally master orator DJT.
