Trump says wearing a face mask is ‘patriotic’ and plans to resume COVID-19 briefings

We are United in our effort to defeat the Invisible China Virus, and many people say that it is Patriotic to wear a face mask when you can’t socially distance. There is nobody more Patriotic than me, your favorite President!

Maybe he should add pride masks to the list of things he's selling?

    What horse$#@!.

    They don't work
, they are filthy germ collectors that people pick and paw at all day long and picking at a face diaper is just as gross as picking at an ass diaper and patriotism is doing the opposite of what stupid government fatwas say you are supposed to comply with.

What trump doesn't want the American people to know is that it isn't about patriotism, anymore than "Patriot Act" was; it's about that Billions in tax-payer money he gave to fulfill Gates'/U.N. agenda, which is why he was allowed to win the nomination in '16 and '20.

Trump is such a very good businessman salesman, he even has the "republicans" convinced.

Trump looked at the polls, simple as that.

A majority of the population thinks Derpster is doing a $#@! job on covid (& the economy, on being decent, & not being senile).

Let me just repeat that for impact; a majority of Americans think that Trump is less mentally astute than Biden.

    Well, Biden's clearly senile.

    So...

GOPers don't understand how much non-GOPers hate Trump...

Biden's going to win not because anyone likes him, but because they hate Trump like grim death.

It'll be the same reason Trump beat Hillary; nobody liked him, they just hated her.

...and so, to bring it back to the point, this is why Trump's changing his tune on masks.

Many cannot stomach the idea of Agorism at this point and time, they need coddled cradle-to-grave.

At this point, if Biden does win, perhaps "republicans/conservatives" will chastise him and begin to fight back for the exact same things that trump (RTM) is praised for.

President Donald Trump said that while he supports the use of masks as protection against coronavirus he does not believe that wearing a face covering should be mandatory for the nation. “I want people to have a certain freedom,” Mr Trump said in an interview with Fox News, an excerpt of which was broadcast by the network ahead of its full airing on Sunday.

After giving BILLIONS of tax-payer money to public/private corporatist companies in bed with U.N./Gates' agenda, trump the businessman/politician knows that it will be implemented by companies, schools, hospitals, airports, stores, etc., so he "washes his hands" of it.

Nah, I don't think you're stupid, manipulated, yes. I think President Trump is trying to hang the vaccine pushers by their own petard. Fauci is back-peddling about the vaccine as being the savior to all. Fauci has spent countless hours on talking head shows contradicting President Trump on Hydroxychloroquine even though Fauci pushed it as the best treatment in the case of SARS. Fauci went around pushing a drug he has a stake in, Remdesivir. Many people who have done the research know Fauci has connections to the Gates Foundation and that he was responsible during the Obama presidency to allow Chapel Hill to sell to the Chinese the Covid-19 (gain of function technology) virus so they can continue to research it there at their biolab. Fauci also made a speech in 2017 stating President Trump is going to have to deal with a "Surprise Outbreak" during his Presidency--what a coincidence, eh?

Anthony Fauci, the U.S. government’s top infectious disease specialist, warned in early 2017 that a “surprise outbreak” would occur during the Trump administration, and he said that more needed to be done to prepare for a pandemic. “There is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” he said in a speech titled “Pandemic Preparedness in the Next Administration” at Georgetown University Medical Center.

The thing is, Trump really isn't a politician--that's what makes him unique and refreshing.

All Trump has to do to get the left to forget about masks is fully endorse them.

They always want to do the opposite of what the endorses.

I think you got that all mixed up. President Trump was handed a turd sandwich after Obama left office.

Trump went from dismissive of masks to 'masks are patriotic'. Next thing you know he and Cuomo will be on opposite sides again and we'll get a tweet about 'lockdowns are patriotic'. This was Trump in March:
“Some people would like to see New York quarantined because it’s a hotspot — New York, New Jersey maybe one or two other places, certain parts of Connecticut quarantined. I’m thinking about that right now. We might not have to do it but there’s a possibility that sometime today we’ll do a quarantine — short term — two weeks for New York, probably New Jersey, certain parts of Connecticut,” the president told reporters.

“I’d rather not do it, but we might need it,” he added.

I honestly think Trump likes to make essentially meaningless comments like this, because he knows the media will spend days focusing on the contradiction - and that keeps them occupied while he's focusing on other things. It's like giving a baby your car keys to play with.

To be fair, MAGA directions come with options...
patriots who don't want to be opressed by masks can always social distance. It's a binary choice.

I nearly choked on my gatorade when the other day I saw a black woman wearing a mask while sporting a black tshirt with big white letters that said "I CAN'T BREATHE! - George Floyd 2020"

It took every ounce of my being to not lavishly compliment her shirt, ask to take her picture and then turn her into a meme.

Exactly. This is what I meant by him being a politician. Even on this forum of politically astute members, it's amazing how people on both sides of the love/hate Trump spectrum argure passionately over his latest words. What he says minute to minute is meaningless. He plays Sun Tzu's Art of War to the hilt.

It's not what he says, but what he does that's important. And even what he does is deceiving. Keeping an eye on the longview is the wisest thing to do.

Trump has repeatedly said masks should be optional and he won't support mandating them.

But he is also setting up an argument that if the left wants to claim masks work then they can't insist they need vote by mail.
