All these countless predictions about how the Patriot Act/indefinite detentions part of NDAA would be used against us, and then it is, and because it is orange man being a tyrant, it's apparently okay? I don't know. This should be time to join with everyone else who is horrified by what these two things have allowed for.

This is not only Trump but Trump is the one actually dictatorial enough to use the oppressive powers they were given and not just keep them in their back pocket.

The bright side is this:
People hate Trump. This could be a movement against these things that we have hated so long because so many people don't want someone like Trump to have those kind of powers.

The majority of the American people don't care about liberty so they aren't going to care about those issues. I've told people in the past that the NDAA would be used against us and they just laughed in my face.

This should be the perfect opportunity to say "the president shouldn't have this much power, right?" and "the government shouldn't have this much power, right?" and hear approval in reply. Even better, it's the federal government that's the problem, and suddenly you have people for whom state's rights was a dirty phrase realizing that they would like their state and local government to be able to make their own decisions without being overridden by the feds.


This problem is going to get solved one way or another. If we let "them" come up with the solution all on "their" own then we're not going to like the results.


The longer that liberty-minded people stay quiet, the less it looks like they actually give a $#@! about liberty. I'm starting to doubt that any of these people ever gave a $#@! about liberty, because this is 100% the thing that they claimed to oppose, and now it seems that they are perfectly content with staying quiet so long as it's directed at them. This, honestly, makes the PATRIOT act look like nothing in comparison, and all I'm hearing is either 100% approval "go git 'em," or radio $#@!ing silence. I'm not sure which is worse, frankly.

I expected as much from the Q-cult, who have been spouting words of liberty while having wet dreams of martial law and military tribunals for years now. But it's much broader approval than just Qultists.

I don't know why this has to be reiterated so often, but it does. These activists do not care. You can tweet #BLM all you want. You can talk about police brutality until the cows come home. It doesn't matter. To the academics and activists they train, libertarianism is just another form of white supremacy. It’s super mysterious why libertarians aren’t enraged about militarized state overreach on individual rights unless libertarianism was actually in the end mainly about white property owners not wanting any regulation or having to pay a lot of tax.
