I'll be wearing a mask in many situations in public because I would prefer not to die, have kidney failure, or otherwise become crippled.

Similarly, I'll try to refrain from eating lead paint chips, even if the Satanic-Illuminati MSM® says I should refrain from eating lead paint chips..

P.S. Let me just add, where were these freedom fighters, now so worked up about face masks, when it came to, Oh, I don't know, looting the public through five decades and dozens of trillions of dollars of welfarism? Where were their concerns for individual liberty when the PATRIOT Act was passed? When we invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Iraq again, Libya...

Oh, they only care because it's election season?

And this is just mindless tribalism, red good, blue bad, or blue good, red bad?

    Piss on all your cheerios.

I agree with this point. I still wear a seatbelt for my own safety even though the nanny state tells me it's the law. I'm not a teenage girl rebelling against my parents.
A savage barbaric tribal society where thugs parade the streets and illegally assault and murder innocent civilians, yeah that is the alternative to having police. Oh wait, that is the police

A great many voters, of both parties, including folks in their 90s, are just that.

Covid has killed, caused kidney failure, and otherwise crippled people (e.g. permanently reduced lung capacity).

I wore a mask back when Dr. Fauci and the CDC lied (admitted now before Congress) and said that you shouldn't wear masks because masks do more harm than good. I instinctively knew that was a lie. Then the CDC and Dr. Fauci said "everybody wear a mask." More recently they said "Face shields >>>>>>> masks." So......trust the experts? Really? I always keep my mask in my car. I wear it sometimes. Don't wear it all the time. I don't fuss when a store says I have to wear one to go in. I don't freak out when I see people not wearing masks. I try to get plenty of sunshine and fresh air. As for why people are pushing back now more than before. I dunno. But it's probably because it's so in your face. (Pun very much intended). Economics plays a big part as well. The same folks saying "everybody wear masks" (and at first said don't wear masks) are also responsible for 20 to 40 million people being out of work. Back to your lead paint example, while I don't eat lead paint chips, I also don't freak out about local toys needing to be lead paint tested when you can't even buy lead paint in the U.S.

That everyone should have been wearing masks from early February was obvious; if I knew this, the much better informed people in D.C. knew.

The useless politicians stuck their heads in the sand for a month and half and killed tens of thousands, at least.

Some of them continued this line until last week or so; when reality bludgeoned them into submission.

Mindless tribalism and clown-children politicians aren't a good idea generally, with the error becoming more obvious when there are real dangers.

    Good luck to us.

They told people not to wear masks because they were rationing them for doctors and nurses.

The majority of people in my county stopped wearing masks in public at the end of May. The confirmed cases count in the past 30 days increased by 1.

    LOL

Such blunt logic and and strongly worded post runs the risk of causing slumber grumble among the circus drama gripped audiences.

Strong leadership by GOPA leaders, credit also goes to FLOTUS and POTUS.

MAGA's attack on GA governor who tried to be a rebel and not go with Trump-Pence led Coronavirus Task Force's social distancing/lockdown guidelines was also set straight quickly. Examplary alpha leadership.

LOL,, Ha Ha Ha,, And Phucck you and your dishonesty
Why were you not wearing a Damn mask for the last 30 years if you were Phucking concerned .

You are a dishonest liar that has no place in intelligent public debate other than a point of ridicule.

    Why are you here?
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

True. I was merely responding to someone talking about seeing someone wearing a mask while jogging. There's not telling if that's for COVID-19 prevention or for increasing lung capacity.

I would think it would just make the lungs stronger to wear something that restricts breathing but long term it would probably result in lower o2 levels when the muscles get tired. Fully expanding the lungs for prolonged periods of time might increase the capacity but that would probably be tougher to accomplish with a mask on due to the fact that it would take too much effort to expand the lungs to do it for a prolonged period of time and pressure from the chest and gut cavity would limit the amount of expansion. It would probably be beneficial for people who have diminished lung capacity due to their poor health conditions but but not for the majority of people.

Wearing a mask or insisting on wearing a mask when people are dying from a cold because they are obese or take drugs or dont get good vitamins or eat right isnt going to help. Wearing a mask means your immune system gets weaker because you dont expose yourself to as much stuff that you normally fight off that makes your immune system stronger.

That isn't why people are dying nikcers; they're dying because this is a deadly disease.

Recall the ship's captain in the US Navy who was fired for "overreacting."

I'm in favor of supplements, I take them myself, but this epidemic is not simply a matter of a vitamin deficiency.

The US Navy knows how to prevent scurvy; this isn't that.

You're correct on that point, given the fact I have no pension since I don't work for Corporate America that provides those sort of things...
