Christianity Today Goes Full Radical, Says Churches Need To Pay Reparations

    Brandon T. Ward | June 13, 2020

Let’s make one thing very clear right off the bat. No black person alive today was ever a slave in the U.S., nor their parents, and so on. Yet, Christianity Today says churches must lead the charge in paying reparations for blacks.

Christianity Today goes on to place the sins of our ancestors at our feet as if we are somehow responsible for their actions. That is an anti-God message, God’s Word says exactly the opposite as we will document shortly.

    Distorting The Bible

Their article opens by distorting the Bible using Genesis 4:10 to support their case. Let’s read that verse together.

"And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground."
    Genesis 4:10

God was talking to Cain after Cain killed Abel, this has nothing to do with slavery or the wronging of the black race. Twisting the Word of God to fit your belief is a sin, (Revelation 22:19).

    Two Original Sins

Christianity Today goes on to say,

"Two original sins have plagued this nation from its inception: the destruction of its native inhabitants and the institution of slavery."

Everyone understands there were sins in the past, everyone gets that.

However, there is much to history that one should learn before they go thumbing their nose at people from the past. You did not live in that time and have no idea what it was like.

While it does not make it right, every nation on earth has enslaved someone or conquered a people. That is history, that is fact, and so is the fact that blacks sold blacks into slavery. Should Africans then pay African-Americans reparations too?

All Christianity Today is doing is stirring up hate and division while talking about “unity” and “inclusion”. Jesus said a divided house will fall, (Matthew 12:25). That goes for our individual homes as well as our church homes.

    Self Righteous Hypocrites

Today, we act as if we are self-righteous, as if we have no sin of our own. Have we forgotten the polluted world we have created due to materialism and greed? Have we forgotten the church supports homosexuality and even has homosexual pastors? God is against homosexuality, but men say otherwise.

Before we go throwing stones at people from the past, we should take a good long hard look in the mirror.

We Do Not Bear Others Sins

I also want you to know, we do not bear the sins of others, we only bear our own sins. Turn your Bible with me to,

    Ezekiel 18:20
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him."

We do not bear the sin of our ancestors or even our parents. The only sin we bear is our own!

    You know why?

God is fair, that is why, (Psalms 145:17). So never allow some self-righteous hypocrite with an agenda to tell you otherwise.

Christianity Today does not give a rip about black lives. They care about a radical left-wing agenda. In fact, you should learn about the Black Lives Matter organization before you stand for them.

In the end, you are responsible for the decisions you make in your own life. You can either believe what God said about bearing sin, or you can listen to men.

Christianity Today And Black Lives Matter

    Christianity Today’s disturbing words continue.

"Black lives matter. They matter so much that Jesus sacrificed everything for them. Are we willing to sacrifice as well?"

No, Jesus sacrificed everything, FOR EVERYONE, not just blacks, whites or anyone else. In fact, Jesus perishing on the cross opened salvation up for every single race on earth, not just the 12 Tribes of Israel.

How can we be so blind to these simple facts?

    Racism Dividing The People

Apparently, Christianity Today has been living under a rock as they state,

"Likewise, it’s time for white evangelicals to confess that we have not taken the sin of racism with the gravity and seriousness it deserves."

The last time I checked, we just had a black President named Barack Obama. We have black actors, leaders, sports players, music artists, business leaders, church leaders, and so on.

If you want to succeed in this nation, you can. Your skin color has zero to do with success in this country and acting as if it does is lying to the people and making excuses for failures. Even promoting failures.

When you tell someone they may not succeed in life due to the color of their skin, that is racist. That is planting a seed of doubt in someone’s mind that they cannot win because of the color of their skin. What a horrible message for a Christian organization to promote.

True Christians and organizations do not promote or support reparations as they are handouts. There is no dignity or honor in a handout and God is against handouts.

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."
    2 Thessalonians 3:10

Every able bodied man or woman in this country can work if they want too. Skin color has nothing to do with it. If you want to talk about true “unity” and “inclusion” then stop dividing the people!

    Conclusion

In the end, organizations like Christianity Today are simply ensuring they have a place in the new world that is now being formed. They want to ensure they have a place at the table.

I have news for you folks.

Jesus said we are in the world, but we are not a part of it, (John 17:14). When Jesus returns, He is coming with a rod of iron to rule this world, (Revelation 2:27). He will do that as the world was wrong, not right, but wrong. Due to that, there will be whaling and gnashing of teeth. In fact, Jesus will say to many so-called pastors, “I never knew you, depart from me”, (Matthew 7:22-23). Think about that.

I will stand with Jesus Christ and His Word, I wonder where you will stand…

Christians, according to the Bible, the Apostles, and the Church Fathers in every century starting from the first, are those baptized in the Name of Christ, and who live a life following our Lord Jesus Christ, obeying Him, and the teachings of His chosen ones, the Saints:

in one mind (theology or knowledge of God),
in one body (holy communing of the Body and Blood of Christ, which unites all humanity and those who partake).
and in one Spirit (the Holy Spirit of God, proceeding from the Father and co-equal with the Son, Who sanctifies and illuminates, indeed, deifies, those who are obedient through humility and nepsis (awareness)).

There is one Church as there is one Body of Christ. Seek this body, which has historically always existed and which has continued to this day, and above all, pray.

Ah, Billy Graham was the original founder.

Yes, my father Billy Graham founded Christianity Today; but no, he would not agree with their opinion piece.
    ...
The spade is this—Christianity Today has been used by the left for their political agenda. It’s obvious that Christianity Today has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism.
What he means is that it was infiltrated, co-opted and taken over by Marxists, as happens to nearly every media organization.

You're correct. The wolves in sheep's clothing are trying to make people think Christians are weak.

The Government is the same institution as it was in the past, the Tribes are the same institutions. Their contracts still stand unless we stopped believing in contracts on this forum?

Reparations by individuals shouldn't be a thing, but it was the church that started all this anti-racism $#@!. Its not a new thing. Pentecost occurred when devout men from all nations gathered in one accord. Acts 2.

Now if you have wronged your brother, go sort it out, then come back to talk to God.

    Salt and light people.
    In New Zealand:
    The Coastguard is a Charity
Air Traffic Control is a private company run on user fees
The DMV is a private non-profit
Rescue helicopters and ambulances are operated by charities and are plastered with corporate logos
The agriculture industry has zero subsidies
5% of the national vote, gets you 5 seats in Parliament
A tax return has 4 fields
    Business licenses aren't a thing
    Prostitution is legal
We have a constitutional right to refuse any type of medical care

Um, Pentecost (the 50th day) is about dates to remember and the Passover--and Jesus became our Passover. Acts 2:1 - 2:47 read the whole chapter and verse.

Something happened on that particular pentecost that changed history and the way man relates to God forever. Or do you still sacrifice doves and cows at Temple?

Jesus became our Passover for one and all times. Jesus sacrificed himself for us. It is as simple as that. Again, Christians use the day of Pentecost (from a Greek word meaning fiftieth) as a date when the Spirit spoke to all the people congregated in every language so they would understand. (Acts 2:1-13)

    Pentecost [N] [B] [H] [S]
i.e., "fiftieth", found only in the New Testament ( Acts 2:1 ; 20:16 ; 1 Corinthians 16:8 ). The festival so named is first spoken of in Exodus 23:16 as "the feast of harvest," and again in Exodus 34:22 as "the day of the firstfruits" ( Numbers 28:26 ). From the sixteenth of the month of Nisan (the second day of the Passover), seven complete weeks, i.e., forty-nine days, were to be reckoned, and this feast was held on the fiftieth day. The manner in which it was to be kept is described in Leviticus 23:15-19 ; Numbers 28:27-29 . Besides the sacrifices prescribed for the occasion, every one was to bring to the Lord his "tribute of a free-will offering" ( Deuteronomy 16:9-11 ). The purpose of this feast was to commemorate the completion of the grain harvest. Its distinguishing feature was the offering of "two leavened loaves" made from the new corn of the completed harvest, which, with two lambs, were waved before the Lord as a thank offering.
The day of Pentecost is noted in the Christian Church as the day on which the Spirit descended upon the apostles, and on which, under Peter's preaching, so many thousands were converted in Jerusalem ( Acts 2 ).
