    Piketty's idea

French economist Thomas Piketty suggested giving money to people, just like that. He said "Capitalism is ending", what do you think about his idea?

Greatest idea ever, I heard he plans to be generous with his own money and to that, I say God bless his heart. Btw, where do I sign up?

Expect the presidential debates to focus on who's the better commie, Joe or Donnell.

what do you mean saying 'where do I(you)sign up'? But yeah, that's a generous step, absolutely the rightest decision of him.

see I view the opposite. Lower taxes and people won't have to spend 80% of their paycheck on rent/bills/mortgage
A savage barbaric tribal society where thugs parade the streets and illegally assault and murder innocent civilians, yeah that is the alternative to having police. Oh wait, that is the police

You know, it's easy to say to stop paying taxes and etc. Piketty used to study at Sarbonne and in his book he explains why it was useless as his misunderstanding all economics process in France. The country is bureaucratic and I read here https://aspectum.com/industry-public-safety/that it causes many problems. Still I am sure that he is not a fan of economics, he is a professional scientist in this area.

Probably a bad idea. Theoretically if you eliminated all programs it might be more cost effective because you wouldn't have to pay people to administer the a check to everyone. But realistically, people aren't responsible so this would likely be in addition to free health care, free housing and every other program.

Piketty is a economic illiterate who would cause mass suffering. He believes you shouldn't be able to accumulate more than $20 million which would eliminate most great entrepreneurial enterprises. The whole premise of his book that capital grows faster than real economic growth was refuted by everyone including left wing economists.

He's a bad guy with bad opinions. Worth looking at his ideas only so you know how to refute them. Capitalism is only dying because people like him keep clamoring from a more entrenched government into the private sector. He supported the Socialist Party candidate in France because he thinks France's problem is too little socialism.
