Twitter Labels Trump's Tweet about MN Riots as Violating Policy

What good is an EO if it is not enforceable? Looks like Twitter is going to keep doing what they're doing, so what is Trump's next move?

In a first, Twitter has placed a warning notice on President Trump’s tweet about the Minneapolis riots, alleging it “violates our policies regarding the glorification of violence.”

The president’s tweet reads: “These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!”

Twitter said Friday morning that a tweet from President Trump in which he threatened shooting in response to civil unrest in Minneapolis violated the company's rules. The company said it was leaving the tweet up in the public interest.

"This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence," the company said in text that now accompanies the tweet. "However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible."

The decision to label Trump's tweet was made by teams within Twitter and CEO Jack Dorsey was informed of the plan before the tweet was labeled, Twitter told Axios.

The official White House account later tweeted the same text from Trump's tweet, causing Twitter to place the same restrictions on that tweet

Anti-Trust these companies need to be broken up to allow others to compete in the market.

when the looting starts, the shooting starts

Great campaign slogan. Hearts and minds.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

Oh? Your internet provider blocks access to their would be competition?

Government is not the answer. The fact that the CIA backed Zuckerburg should be proof enough of that.

The CIA backed Jeff Bezos too. So we should just allow this to continue?

Factions within the government are the reason these monopolies are using censorship and are purveyors of disinformation. We have someone in the Whitehouse with the help of some good senators to right this wrong. The tools to right the wrong is through the anti-trust act.

First, no existing antitrust laws apply as long as there is competition, and people can use it. Second, the willingness to address the band aid full of salt by putting another band aid on top of it is how we got in this mess.

    Isn't it?

    Problem-reaction-solution worse than the problem.

There is no competition. So if you have some people in government willing to right the wrong, I am all for breaking them up so they do not have a stranglehold on competition.
