The Libertarian Party - 48.5 years of doing nothing, nowhere.

The reign of vapid idealism pontificates further....

As much as I dislike Trump, I hate the Democrats 10x more. And without a real contender from the LP or any other source, it looks like it is a Trump vote here..... lesser of 2 evils bull$#@!. Unless someone is ready to hit the reset button... let me know.
Once you go Paul, you see through them all.

Might be forgetting somebody, but the LP hasn't had a good nominee since Harry Browne.

I long ago stopped taking the average self described big "L" Libertarian seriously.

Anyone who thinks any of these choices are superior to Justin Amash is a dunce. Getting a solid LP candidate, who understands libertarianism (unlike Bob Barr or Gary Johnson), isn't a total wack job like Michael Badnarik and who can get on TV (Jorgensen can't), has proven to be very difficult.

This party should have kissed Amash's feet and begged him to be the nominee. He was a perfect choice. I originally commended the party for picking the least bad nominee until I see who the VP choice is. What embarrassments.

Politically it's smart to run a lady right now..especially against 2 old guys

Wonder if Amash would have wanted this running mate?

Just more evidence that the LP has been badly co-opted and it's pretty much all rigged at the national election level. Jacob won many more contests and many more votes than Jorgensen did, yet she gets the nom and an obvious....hmmm....is chosen as VP running mate, who will promise ponies and other stupid $#@! that marginalizes the LP.

Talk to people about liberty. You won't find it on websites, you won't find it in politicians.

But now you can't talk to people because of "social distancing"....brought to you by shills and politicians.

It's an odd choice over Hornberger, but the whole #ImWithHer fiasco on twitter is very interesting. If she was smart that would be her slogan. But of course some bespectacled autist in her campaign will convince her to run with something else that's not remotely as effective memetically.

Way better off winning Hawaii on an independence platform, or otherwise winning a state some place and turning its budget around.

Hell maybe start with a city that has gone to $#@!.
    In New Zealand:
    The Coastguard is a Charity
Air Traffic Control is a private company run on user fees
The DMV is a private non-profit
Rescue helicopters and ambulances are operated by charities and are plastered with corporate logos
The agriculture industry has zero subsidies
5% of the national vote, gets you 5 seats in Parliament
A tax return has 4 fields
Business licenses aren't even a thing nor are capital gains taxes
Constitutional right to refuse any type of medical care

I don't want to belittle your decision to vote for Trump. It is your right. You say you dislike Trump. You say the lesser of two evils is bull$#@!. Do you dislike Jo more than Trump? If you researched Jo and thought she would be a better president than Trump, would you consider voting for her?

Free ponies should be an effective message in the middle of a hyperinflationary depression. At least you can eat the pony instead of paying $15 for a pound of ground beef.

No. She has got ZERO chance of even getting 5%. Trump would eviscerate her in a debate, but that won't happen, because yet again, we won't get invited to a debate with 1-3% polling numbers. Amash stood a chance. And I would have supported him.

That being said, I DETEST the Democrats / Socialist. But I also think Trump IS part of the deep state. I am sure he will push the global vaccine agenda and the digital health passports and his supporters will lap it up with every justification they can muster. We are being played. He was for "lock her up", "drain the swap" and hasn't done anything there.... He was buddies with Epstein. He is horrible. But better than dementia joe... socialist sanders, or anything the dems have. We are $#@!ed every way we turn. There is no hope. It is all a theatrical ruse which every path in the maze leading to a dead end. Voting harder won't fix $#@!. And no matter what anyone says, Jo ain't the ticket. None of them were the ticket, except Amash might have been.... Hornberger is a dweeb. Gray is a nice grandpa with no fire or passion. Vermin is (portrayed as) nuts. Kokesh wanted to close down and eliminate everything, including national defense. He went too far.... I liked the idea of an Amash/Sharpe. Larry has some good ideas and heart. But of course the LP screwed the pooch on that one, just like they do every god damn time....

I think the LP is a front to occupy the energy of the people wanting change. Purposefully failing and falling down. To keep those who want freedom and change occupied, hoping, thinking, there is a chance.... when they self sabotage repeatedly to keep everything at a distance.
Once you go Paul, you see through them all.

The problem is that it's foolish to expect any organization headed up inside the Beltway Swamp to do anything to negatively affect the swamp. People like the LP chair are either groomed as controlled opposition (Sarwark is a trained globalist) or are usually co-opted once they arrive there. For all of the enthusiasm about Amash running, he flaked out and the candidate who was a genuine threat to the Swamp, who actually won the most preference contests and votes by far, was somehow denied the nomination after multiple convention ballots. Tells you what you need to know, really. Nothing emanating from the Beltway Swamp will ever upset the Beltway Swamp.

He never actually officially declared as a candidate, afaik, only declared an exploratory committee. Whether he became required to file as a candidate depended on if money was raised and other factors, per FEC rules. I wonder if any money raised could be transferred to his Congressional campaign?

The Libertarian Party is a joke as if that wasn't already evident, they should have leaned into it and nominated Joe Exotic.

Is this a Paul Krugman fan? (see www.contrakrugman.com to learn about these tactics)

Looks like the LP really dodged a bullet here. Jo looks like a great representative of libertarian ideals and ideas.

Boys and girls, we are almost 50 years in and we are still at the "teaching" phase during the election cycle. GTFO.

Jo Jorgenson is great. Says she's a huge Ron Paul fan and a Harry Browne clone. Spike is intelligent when he speaks but otherwise a total goofball and turnoff who needs to clean up his act:

Not everyone enjoys the foul-mouthed female comedians who joke about vaginas and sluttiness, not everyone enjoys pretentious smug comedians who try to impress by being a know-it-all, and I can fiat-dollars-to-donuts 100% assure you that not everyone thinks hairy chested dad bods and pony promises are cute or funny... Simply put – clean up your act. Change your profile pics. Keep the dad bod calendars to yourself. Scrub ALL the cringe and just redirect any personal websites to https://joj2020.com/
edit: the Vermin/Spike cringe page redirects as of 6/11 but still more cringe to scrub

edit #2: as of 6/14 Spike's cringey Twitter pic has been replaced. I had emailed Jo's campaign manager on 6/11 requesting he clean up his online presence. I like to think I had a small change in this effort as one of the contributing voices

I got 5 decades watching that says the vote is irrelevant..

They are gonna do what they were voted to stop. Every Phucking Time.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Not that voting matters in the least (people that still believe that it does are still living in fairy tale land), but Cohen does need to put forth a serious website, not his SpikeTV ripoff with Vermin Supreme's nonsense all over it. He does sound decent when he's being interviewed but that doesn't matter much when that ridiculous website is what most people will look at first before deciding whether to even expend the time to hear him talk.

Regarding voting the attempt to win votes at least is worth something in spreading the message - Harry Browne's campaign got me hooked and Ron Paul's reeled me in (not that I needing much reeling). But 100% agree on Spike. I mean who even finds that garbage funny? "lol I'm so random" 7th graders?

    It can Locally..
You can have an effect locally,, but Federal Government is a lost cause..and should have never been allowed to have any of the powers it currently does.

It will not give them up regardless of which party is in power.
