Trump announces EO aiming to make hundreds of deregulations amid coronavirus permanent

President Trump announced an executive order Tuesday that aims to make hundreds of deregulations in the age of coronavirus permanent, something that would amount to a massive overhaul of regulatory policy.

"We've done far more regulation cutting than any president in history," Trump said at a Cabinet meeting ahead of signing the order.

Fox News is told the executive order tells regulatory agencies to look at more than 600 regulatory actions -- mostly deregulations, but also regulations and guidance -- taken during the coronavirus pandemic and tell the White House which ones should be made permanent.

"We had cases where it would take 20 years to build a highway, you had to go through various agencies to get the same permit," the president said.

"If a bureaucratic rule needs to be suspended during a time of crisis to help the American people, we should ask ourselves if it makes sense to keep at all," Acting Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russ Vought told Fox Business.

The order will use emergency authority to figure out the best way to identify which other regulations still in place can be suspended to help jumpstart the economy. It will ask agencies which authorities they have to take action that would lead to putting people back to work, and that list should be sent to the OMB.

"Typically when our country has faced a crisis, Washington responds by grabbing more power. President Trump understands that to get the economy moving, the power needs to be given back to the people and entrepreneur," Vought said.

The order also relaxes compliance measures overall. Agencies will be told not to over-enforce regulations on small businesses and nonprofits that are doing the best they can.

A few weeks ago I made a post that Trump would double down on capitalism and the American people would likely give him the mandate to do so in November.

Corona shutdown is justifying all the stuff he wanted to do. If there was a reason for Americans to give him the house, this would be it.

If this isn't Trump signaling business owners to defy shutdown policies and get back to work, I don't know what is.
"Where small businesses are working hard to comply with the law, I am asking agencies to recognize those efforts and not over-enforce where a business or organization has tried in good faith to comply with the law,” the president will say, according to prepared remarks.

"Small businesses, entrepreneurs, and the American people are the ones who are going to bring this economy roaring back, and the government should not be tying their hands with red tape."

Yep. Election is just around the corner.

I would have explained to the American people that they are funding via the Fed biotech and tracking companies which will be mandated by schools, cruise lines, companies, etc. And then let the people do what they need at the local/state level. Then you wouldn't need FED agencies to "police themselves".
“The right to life is the source of all rights—and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.”

The biggest sector of the economy he has "deregulated" is the pharmaceutical industry. Now they will be able to pretty much fast-track any drugs or vaccines they want.

And the people going back to work are not mainly "entrepreneurs", but the pharmaceutical industry which has received HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS in bailouts to manufacture medical equipment, tests, and most of all vaccines.

He is also bailing out Big Ag, to keep cheap commodity foods cheap and absorb the big farmers' losses.

And with HR 6666 in the works, the COVID test will soon be mandated to do anything. Washington State has job openings for more government social workers to take children away from their parents if they test positive with these bogus tests.

Deregulation is good, it is regulation that enthrones Big Pharma and Big Ag.

And Trump will not allow mandatory testing or vaccination:

Trump tells governors feds 'will step in' if government disagrees with state reopening plans

No, it is legal immunity from lawsuits that enthrones Big Pharma, and subsidies and bail outs that enthrones Big Ag, since the Depression in the 1930s.

He already has. He allowed in NY (and most states) last year when they mandated the measles vaccine as a requirement for to go out in public. This was his response:

    Good.

It is the regulatory state that is the vehicle of tyranny...anything or anybody that beats that back has my support.

Fine, support federal government regulation, see if I care.
Everyone who cares about reducing government knows deregulation is a good thing.

That was his opinion and doesn't have anything to do with requiring an new vaccine for the flu as part of reopening.
