Nearly half of Americans Out of Work - Lowest Percentage EVER!

A smaller share of American adults were employed in April than ever before in records going back to 1948.

The employment-population ratio, which measures the share of Americans above the age of 16 who are employed, fell to 51.3 percent, the Department of Labor said Friday. A year ago, it was 60.6 percent.

The previous low was 55 percent in the summer of 1954.

It will take a decade to recover from this planned hysteria. If we even recover.

But President Trump has promised that the economy would be back stronger than ever by 4th quarter this year! Do you doubt that?

Question why the one thing that would end a Trump presidency has come to fruition. Massively distorted by media and taken advantage of by Democrat governors to promote tyrannical measures.

Businesses Struggle to Lure Workers Away From Unemployment - Wall Street Journal

Businesses looking for a quick return to normal are running into a big hitch: Workers on unemployment benefits are reluctant to give them up.

That’s complicating plans to reopen states and get the U.S. economy back on track.

For some workers, unemployment benefits are now paying more than their old jobs did. For others, safety concerns or a lack of child care, as most schools and day-care centers remain closed, are making them hesitant to go back.

That means reopening may not go as quickly or as smoothly as some elected officials and business owners had hoped.

Friday’s jobs report showed that U.S. employers cut 20.5 million jobs in April, or nearly all of the 22 million jobs added in the past decade.

The longer it takes to recover that lost employment, the more extended the economic downturn caused by the pandemic will be.

It's possible, but the purpose of that is to keep confidence levels high so people don't panic sell their assets and crash the market. That will help ease the transition of going back to work.

If the laid off employees refused to go back to work, that's a voluntary quit and they lose their benefits.

But not their stimulus checks. Even people on total public assistance are getting those, in addition to their welfare checks, Section 8 housing vouchers and food stamps, etc.

That's why we are not seeing any rioting or looting in the inner cities. They are better off financially than they were before...

Wait until they learn they owe income (local, state, federal), SS and Medicare/Medicaid taxes on that.

The good thing is, many Americans including independents have faith in Trump's economic chops, even if they dislike him and disapprove of him overall. The corona response and economic devastation could very well turn into approval for more radical Trumponomics to get the engine turning.

Its a very interesting idea considering the election is quickly approaching. Prior to this, Trump was the favorite to win but lose the house. If he sells the right message, like Tax Cut 2.0 among other strategies, America might give him the house to get the job done. We will see him cut regulations multiples faster than he did before. This is his time to shine, even more-so than 2016 IMO.

I know some here don't support tax cuts without cuts in spending, but I will. What you own has nothing to do with what the government spends, two entirely different subjects.

Problem is almost nobody believes that anymore, and I doubt that Trump does either, even though he is now invested into that excuse.
