Remdesivir: Covid-19 patients recovering quickly after getting experimental drug

So why isn't this headline news and why isn't every pharma co. ramping up for mass production? Could it be they like keeping us locked up?

Remdesivir: Covid-19 patients recovering quickly after getting experimental drug
By Maggie Fox, CNN 1 day ago

Covid-19 patients who are getting an experimental drug called remdesivir have been recovering quickly, with most going home in days, STAT News reported Thursday after it obtained a video of a conversation about the trial.

The patients taking part in a clinical trial of the drug have all had severe respiratory symptoms and fever, but were able to leave the hospital after less than a week of treatment, STAT quoted the doctor leading the trial as saying.

"The best news is that most of our patients have already been discharged, which is great. We've only had two patients perish," Dr. Kathleen Mullane, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Chicago who is leading the clinical trial, said in the video.

Mullane did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN.

The University of Chicago said Mullane's comments constituted partial information.

This is widespread news that a full scientific trial is happening.

Of interest, this was flagged in January by a firm that uses A.I. that they feed all sorts of medical journals into. A researcher saw a report on COVID, plugged it into the system, and the suggestion to use this came out of the computer. He notified the company and after some success in Italy they worked hard to get a real trial. We'll know in June how the trial goes. This could be a huge money maker for the company, it won't sit idle.

Hydroxychloroquine is cheaper, and been around for decades, it has shown good results from many people basically on death's door.

Vitamin C has also shown a lot of promise, yet clinics around the country, in Democratic states, are being raided.

This Remdesivir cost 10X more and Fauci is speaking positive about it. So would one come to the conclusion we should follow the money?

Here at RPF, we don't promote every conspiracy theory - merely the ones we've been made aware of. If there's anything that Ron Paul followers know, it's that bad things don't just happen; bad things require dark and insidious forces acting in concert and in secret to make them happen.

It's too bad that Remdesivir doesn't work. It's a drug looking for a use. One must question the motivations of those who push for it's use, especially over other treatments.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remdesivir

The most common adverse effects in studies of remdesivir for COVID‑19 include respiratory failure and organ impairment, including low albumin, low potassium, low count of red blood cells, low count of platelets that help with clotting, and yellow discoloration of the skin.[11][unreliable medical source?] Other reported side effects include gastrointestinal distress, elevated transaminase levels in the blood (liver enzymes), and infusion site reactions.[8]

Other possible side effects of remdesivir include:

    - Infusion‐related reactions. Infusion‐related reactions have been seen during a remdesivir infusion or around the time remdesivir was given.[12] Signs and symptoms of infusion‐related reactions may include: low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and shivering.[12]
    - Increases in levels of liver enzymes, seen in abnormal liver blood tests.[12] Increases in levels of liver enzymes have been seen in people who have received remdesivir, which may be a sign of inflammation or damage to cells in the liver.[12]
Remdesivir was originally created and developed by Gilead Sciences in 2009, as part of the company's research and development program for hepatitis C.[10] It did not work against hepatitis C as hoped,[10] but was then repurposed and studied as a potential treatment for Ebola virus disease and Marburg virus infections.
    ...
Remdesivir was rapidly pushed through clinical trials due to the West African Ebola virus epidemic of 2013–2016, eventually being used in people with the disease. Preliminary results were promising; it was used in the emergency setting during the Kivu Ebola epidemic that started in 2018, along with further clinical trials, until August 2019, when Congolese health officials announced that it was significantly less effective than monoclonal antibody treatments such as mAb114 and REGN-EB3.
    ...
In a trial in China over February-March 2020, remdesivir was not effective in reducing the time for improvement from COVID‑19 or deaths, and caused various adverse effects, requiring the investigators to terminate the trial.

Our data show that remdesivir was superior to placebo in shortening the time to recovery in adults who were hospitalized with Covid-19 and had evidence of lower respiratory tract infection.

That was a smaller study, done earlier when the goal was to push Remdesivir.

Enrollment for ACTT-1 began on February 21, 2020, and ended on April 19, 2020.

There was another I read recently that showed Remdisivir when co-administered with a separate drug showed positive results. That's something that I think is left out of some studies. A "cocktail" if you will. And, honestly, if you are about to put me on a ventilator then hit me up with everything in the cabinet.

I’d take more established drugs and therapies. In order of desperation:

    - Vitamins (C, D)
    - HCQ, Zinc, Zpac.
    - Steroids for lungs.
    - Convalescent plasma (natural anti-bodies against the virus).
    - RLF-100 (aviptadil, naturally occurring polypeptide).
    - Lab created antibodies that attack the virus (REGEN-COV2, Bamlanivimab).
