Trump urges Sanders supporters to join GOP after senator suspends campaign

President Trump on Wednesday urged Sen. Bernie Sanders's supporters to join the Republican Party after the independent Vermont senator announced he was suspending his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Trump also thanked Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), reiterating his belief that she may have taken away enough votes from Sanders on Super Tuesday last month to cost him states. Warren finished third or in some cases a distant fourth in each state Joe Biden won on Super Tuesday.

"Bernie Sanders is OUT! Thank you to Elizabeth Warren. If not for her, Bernie would have won almost every state on Super Tuesday! This ended just like the Democrats & the DNC wanted, same as the Crooked Hillary fiasco. The Bernie people should come to the Republican Party, TRADE!

Bernie suspends the day after Trump and Biden have a phone call? Hmm, sounds like a legit election to me.

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tru...over-the-phone

Bernie obviously is complicit in the charade if he's willing to take being screwed over by the DNC yet again, in favor of the candidate that has no business running in the first place.

Bernie bros are just citizens, he wants them to vote for him instead of the dementia patient pretending to be a presidential candidate. What is wrong with that? also who would you rather they vote for?

I think I speak for everyone here when I say I'd like to see Democratic primary voters vote for a human being.

But American voters being herd animals, naturally they'll vote for the frontrunner as though they have money on him--no matter how much they hate the moronic, tongue-tied child molester.

Bye bye bum ass Bernie...a low life that never held a full time job until he became mayor by barely a few votes in a low vote election.

While morons call Trump a socialist, he is continues cutting taxes and red tape. Seems legit.

A reasonable libertarian can take the good with the bad and move the ball forward. A purist ideologue will just cry about everything with no end in sight.

Stocks close sharply higher after Sanders drops out of race
Stocks ended sharply higher Wednesday after Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the presidential race, relieving some of Wall Street’s political concerns amid the economic crisis stemming from the coronavirus.

The Dow gained 779 points, or 3.4%. The S&P 500 also added 3.4%, while the Nasdaq advanced 2.6%. Hopes that the U.S. could start to turn a corner on the coronavirus outbreak in the near future also lifted equities.

Some of Sanders’ policy proposals, including Medicare for All, raised concern among several business owners and investors who feared taxes would go up under his presidency. Wednesday’s news puts former Vice President Joe Biden, who is seen by Wall Street as a more market-friendly candidate, closer to the Democratic nomination.
There exists in the world, a desperate need for conspiracies … otherwise, what are the libertarians going to have to talk about

To be fair, Bernie's socialism is still tad bit fringy and MAGA/GOPA socialism is highly streamlined main-street and GOP "conservaties" approved product.

You're not even trying to make sense. Trump follows maybe 2% of what libertarians hold dear, if that.

The Fed is running amok, even pledging to BUY JUNK BONDS today, while Trump cheers them on. The military and deep state is quietly screwing around in Venezuela again, while Trump brings CIA asset Guaido to the SOTU address. Cutting a few taxes, while simultaneously cheering on the inflation tax and cutting red tape so the recently bailed out globalist mega-corporations (with our money) can go on about their Agenda 2030 business? Signing the NAU creating USMCA? Appointing known Clintonistas as the "virus spokespeople".

My god, I can't possibly fathom how you interpret any of this to be moving the ball forward for libertarians.

At this point, what difference does it make?

Only idiots still think there's any appreciable difference between the candidates that are foisted upon us election after election.

Sorry that is no kind of response to @devil21's post.

You can at least try and do better than that and tell us WHY Trump is our saviour.

Re; My prediction of Biden winning the fact the matter it doesn't really matter and this thread reminds us of that. Socialism is king along with authoritarianism and doesn't matter if its Trump or Biden.

I prefer it to be Biden so conservatives can come to their senses and stop worshipping Donald Trump (i.e people like YOU!). That's the only reason. If Biden wins we get rid of that bully Trump and can start taking back the party .

As Warlord said, that's not a reply, but I'll even admit that there's not much scripting going on now. TPTB are winging it, as they clearly push through big chunks of Agenda 2030 with Donald and Congress providing excellent cover. Getting Agenda 2030 implemented right under conservative and libertarian noses, with minimal push-back, is the script and they're accomplishing that with barely a hiccup.

Does this puny tax cut cover the loss of savings through the King of Debt's fresh new Inflation Taxes? Have not Coronavirus Measures measured up in terms of their fresh, new red tape?

A reasonable libertarian knows when the ball is not moving forward. A blind partisan just looks at which team has the ball, and assumes they're throwing it the right way--and makes excuses when yardage is lost.

    Well, well, well...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Thursday that he wouldn’t “drop dead” if President Trump decided to provide universal healthcare during the pandemic.

Sanders told MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” that Trump has “absolutely no ideology,” so it wouldn’t surprise him if he ended up pitching "Medicare for All," without calling it that.

“You’re hearing it first right here,” he said. “He may not call it Medicare for All – I would not drop dead if in one form or another Donald Trump got up and said, ‘You know we’re in a terrible crisis. People can’t afford their health care bills. I think we should guarantee health care for all people.”

The Vermont progressive asserted Trump’s goals revolve around winning and enriching his friends, adding “he will say and do anything to do that.”

Sanders recommended congressional Democrats not promote “their 83-point programs that they often do” and instead push “simple, straightforward” plans to “let the people know which side they are on.”

The Vermont senator dropped out of the presidential race on Wednesday after concluding he wasn’t going to win the nomination. During his first interview since dropping out, he said the coronavirus crisis played a role in his decision because he wanted to help the working class through this difficult time.

“I want to play as good a role, as strong a role as I can in protecting the working people of this country during the economic collapse and doing everything I can to make sure that all of our people have the health care that they need right now.”
