Thread: The Cult of Trump

    The Cult of Trump

I saw this snippet from the LP in an article about Thomas Massie.

I thought it was worth sharing as I think he echoes what many on here feel.

"Most Libertarians think it was a good idea to require a vote," said Ken Moellman, former chairman of the Libertarian Party of Kentucky.

Moellman, who ran for state treasurer in 2011, said what's being forgotten is how members of Congress take an oath to uphold the Constitution and work for their constituents — not to serve the president.

"A large segment of the GOP has turned into the cult of Trump, with loyalty to Trump being more important than the Constitution, the national debt or anything else," he said. "While Trump claimed he was going to 'drain the swamp' it appears that he has instead seized it by eminent domain, and wields it for his own use."

The GOP has been like that for a very long time. Dubya had them acting like a cult. Reagan certainly did, and so did Nixon.

The strange part--the new wrinkle--is the Legend of Trump's Anti-Establishmentness.

What's about to happen to this country isn't funny. But the Legend of Trump's Anti-Establishmentness certainly is.

Well, he has an “R” after his name, after all.

The largest spending president in the history of this nation, democrats could only have wet dreams about.

Convincing republicans that it is good to take private property and hand it to the Feds for other people’s ”safety”, eliminating private contract rights by making undocumented people “legal” to Fund the Fed, mandate minimum wage, and USMCA which is the North American Union and $15 minimum wage, International Labour Organization, etc.

    Todays republicans are yesterdays commies.

But a bone here and there makes everything bliss. Because “R”.

It does feel a bit like W. circa 2003.

The problem with Trump is that he will not tolerate dissent. He ran Amash out of the party and now he wants to do the same to Massie.

They didn't even try that to Ron Paul (and a few others). He was at least tolerated.

This is something different and VERY dangerous.

I've been saying this from the get-go and was called all kinds of names. And, I have to admit that no one has pinned Trump better that Johnny. More valid today than during the campaign.

    This isnt new.

It was the same with Bush.

People defended all of his infringements.

    Its not just the Right.

Glenn Greenwald back in 2011 wrote a great piece about the Obama zombies.

    This whole thread is bull$#@!.

All the Trump supporters I've seen supported Massie.. even Scott Adams supports Massie, he looked up Massie on twitter and it turned out Massie already followed him so he sent him a DM. Massie said he watches a lot of his periscopes and is a big fan, they had a nice little twitter convo.

It doesn't make any sense to attack people who support Massie, wtf are you doing?

Even Massie called Trump and said no hard feelings, Massie is still a Trump supporter and wants to work with him.

Seems to be more of the same..
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Dubya's cult was legendary and stood the test of times for years of Iraqi Freedom blunder. And that carnation of cult only flip-flopped when it became impossible to defend the great leader.

it's not worth arguing with him if you challenge his argument he puts you on ignore. Trump supporters overwhelmingly support Massie but the shills are trying to divide and conquer.

You are misinformed. You are reading the headlines while the lead is buried. There was a PPE shortage world wide because most of it is made in China and China imported PPE from other countries for their medical professionals to use. People are staying home from non essential jobs because if people were to use the medical system just at normal levels we would run out of PPE. Doctors would have to refuse to even do medicine because it goes against the Hippocratic oath. It would be malpractice to do otherwise.

Trump doesn't pick on people like Massie, he picks on people like Hillary Clinton and Adam Schiff.

Trump supporters know Trump and they are over it, and so is Massie. In fact, Massie got so much press that he will probably be more likely to win his re-election now. So Trump in all likelihood helped Massie.

Trump is the one praising Kerry, not Massie.

Massie never joined the freedom caucus because he saw what was coming. They now suck up to Trump.
