Thank you for posting these Brian4Liberty. Since the Governor ordered the statewide closure of schools and daycares in Kentucky (and my company is requiring I work from home) and I have a son turning 5 next month, I mentioned to my wife the other day that Ron Paul has a free home schooling curriculum that we could use.

I also highly recommend khanacademy.org (especially for teaching math).

This is great! Perfect for our current situation due to covid-19. It will be helpful for students especially those who are in the lockdown areas.

Dr. Ray pioneered a lot of things in the teaching of arithmetic in mathematics in general in the 19th century. what he ended up doing was he pretty much brought the study and teaching and learning of mathematics into the mainstream of education. This article from West Virginia review in 1932 recognized that what Dr. Ray did for figures which were basically what they referring to as arithmetic and learning mathematics he did four figures what McGuffey did for literature and Harvey did for grammar.
    What did Dr. Ray do?
Dr. Ray made the teaching and learning of arithmetic practical and he made it interesting. He took it from what was it before a very dry subject and it was hard for people to understand.
    How did he do that?
He did that by combining the clear explanatory methods of French mathematicians with the practical exercise of English and German so pupils should acquire both practical and theoretical knowledge of the subject. That's why his arithmetic when got published in 1834 was known as electric arithmetic. He put together a very extensive mathematical series during his career which is named primary arithmetic.
