It strikes me as JPM trying to soften up markets on behalf of troubled banks that will be using the discount window soon. The history there is that banks going to the discount window were viewed as likely to fail (Lehman, Bear) and are further punished by shorts. Does this indicate failing banks soon and a genuine market crash has started?JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive James Dimon said the bank is open to tapping the Federal Reserve’s rainy-day fund, a move that’s likely to lessen the stigma associated with borrowing directly from the central bank.
