Protectionism protects businesses from free market competition.

Defensive tariffs protect them from hostile foreign government intervention.

It was a nice try at spin though.

    1. Spin your bullshyth by making up a distinction between defense and protection that nobody--nobody--else in the world makes, uses or recognizes.

    2. Use that as a pretext to accuse everyone and his dog of spinning your spin.

Gee, I wonder why no one wants to use Discord spyware just to hang out with you. Hell, you've about cleaned this place out, and vbulletin is pretty benign.

It's not mine, osan started it.
We have plenty of people there.
And you can't call it protectionism unless I espouse the full suite of protectionist policies that are designed to shelter domestic companies from free market competition.

If this place is having trouble it's because of people like you not because of me.

Protectionism is about protecting them from free market competition.

Is the military which protects them from foreign armies "protectionism"?

"Protectionism" is an economic term, not a military one. Stop trying to compare governmental involvement in economic affairs with military strategy against foreign invaders. The two are not the same, Swordsmyth.
