Trump administration planning to crack down on 'birth tourism'

The Trump administration is reportedly planning to unveil a rule this week aimed at cracking down on "birth tourism" — a term referring to pregnant women travelling to the U.S. in order to give birth and secure U.S. citizenship for their child.
Three officials told Axios on Sunday that the plain will be unveiled in the days ahead, though it was unclear what enforcement mechanism would be utilized by the administration to prevent birth tourism.
President Trump has previously threatened to issue executive orders nullifying birthright citizenship, which is enshrined in the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. [That last part is a lie]

"This change is intended to address the national security and law enforcement risks associated with birth tourism, including criminal activity associated with the birth tourism industry," one State Department official told Axios.
One senior U.S. official indicated to the news outlet that the rule set to be unveiled is just the first part in the process of cracking down on the practice.
"Rome wasn't built in a day," the senior official told Axios. "Just the legal recognition that this is improper and wrong and not allowed is a significant step forward."

How do you plan to do that? Make women travelling to the US take a pregnancy test?

PASSENGER FORCED TO TAKE PREGNANCY TEST BEFORE SHE CAN BOARD FLIGHT

A woman was forced to take a pregnancy test before she was allowed to board a flight to the US.

Midori Nishida, a 25-year-old from Japan, was flying from Hong Kong to the Pacific island of Saipan with Hong Kong Express Airways when the unusual request was made.

After telling crew she was not pregnant, Ms Nishida was taken to the toilet by Hong Kong Express staff, who made her urinate onto a strip test before they would let her on the plane.

The result was negative and Ms Nishida was subsequently allowed to board, but she told the Wall Street Journal that the experience was “very humiliating and frustrating”.

The airline reportedly said the test was required to ensure “US immigration laws were not being undermined“.

Whatever happened to his Ron Paul style attempt to stop birthright citizenship via legislation, I wonder?

Trump's legal advisors know full well that any executive order (or statute, for that matter) nullifying birthright citizenship would be declared unconstitutional, but all that would mean is that the Narcissist-in-Chief, who thinks he can do whatever he wants, would throw a tantrum, complain about the judiciary, and win Brownie points from many people within his base. Legally, it's an empty gesture.

We have long had death and taxes as the two standards of inevitability. But there are those who believe that death is the preferable of the two. "At least," as one man said, "there's one advantage about death; it doesn't get worse every time Congress meets."

It has been hashed out before and the facts is that people only temporarily here never counted and only are counted now based on executive branch action so only executive branch action is needed to stop counting them.
