Uh ya, but if Ron Paul had the opportunity to replace one managed trade deal with a better managed trade deal (defined as having more free trade and lower tariffs), do you think he would vote for it?

I'm curious because the first one would presume that you know more about the USMCA than Rand. That is quite a presumption.

Maybe so but Rand is the kind of go along, get along person that he would probably vote for TPP too. He is just a good team player

Rand probly knew it would pass before the vote, due to all of the left-tard “republicans” who never read the thing but actually believe it is better than NAFTA, so therefore voted Yay in order to keep his seat next election. Anybody who opposes trump is bad bad evil bad, after all.

Still, a bad move and Rand gets a double whammy Negative from me.

This thread sheds light on who the left-tard republicans are.

So this is the policy Rand sold out on in order to keep his seat? Because if he voted differently Kentucky would turn against him? Because of this vote?

Rand just voted for NAFTA, renamed so that Trump can pretend that he's a great and terrific and dealerific deal-maker.

...or maybe it's better than what we had.

What should Trump do? Have them draft a real free trade agreement that will never pass, or draft a better agreement that is more free trade than what we had before?

What should Rand do? Vote for a better agreement, or vote against a better agreement?

Are you a big fan of labor unions and minimum wage laws? The amazing deal protected productivity-wrecking American labor unions by forcing the Mexicans to strengthen their unions and raise the minumum wage. Mmmm, can you smell the freedom? Ron Paul on steroids (if Ron Paul were a socialist idiot).

There's a lot of stuff in the deal that may offset some of the negative things. I trust Rand.

It is basically the same as NAFTA except Canada agrees to buy a bit more dairy products from us and Mexico will pay their auto workers at least $15 a hour. Congress added more powers to labor unions.

You shouldn't trust any politician, even Rand.

...especially when you only trust him because he votes in favor of your repugnant reality TV God.

I never was in favor of it.

But if it gets rid of NAFTA and then goes away it will have been a good thing.

It's replacing NAFTA will something which on balance is about the same as NAFTA.

And when it goes away, if it does, the result won't be free trade; it'll be NAFTA.

    So...

No, when it goes away it will not reset to NAFTA.
NAFTA is dead, short live the USMCA.

So, when the USMCA expires, what will then be the trade situation between the three countries?
