Assassination-gate! Trump Officials Say No 'Imminent Threat.' With Guest Phil Giraldi

Trump officials - including Trump himself today - have been steadily pulling back from initial claims after the January 3rd assassination of Iranian top general Soleimani that he was killed because of "imminent threats" of attack led by the Iranian. New evidence is emerging that the kill order had been given seven months ago and according to Israeli media, Netanyahu was directly involved in plotting the killing. Former CIA officer Phil Giraldi joins the Liberty Report to try and unpack the competing claims and whirlwind of lies surrounding the targeted killing.

Why does it matter if it was imminent?

I don't see any reason why they couldn't have taken him out without there being an imminent threat.

    Wrong.

Trump took out a guy who tortured and killed over 1,600 Iranians who were protesting their own government.

The people are now attempting to create a more free and peaceful society in Iran.

Iran attacked a US airbase, and Trump didn't attack them back. He made it clear he is going to negotiate peace with Iran.

Trump just did probably the best possible thing he could do to create the most peaceful and best possible outcome.

Apparently there was only one Iranian psycho.. he was a CIA asset, and he was taken out.

Now the rest of Iran seems to just want peace. They seem to be grateful he is gone.

The neocons still hate Trump, and the neocon tv networks you worship and parrot still lie about Trump every single day.

So that means everything we are doing over there is unconstitutional, right?

Why pick on the one thing that is going to help bring peace and prosperity to the world? Why not focus on the thousands of atrocious things we are doing over there?

Yes, we should NOT be in Iraq.

The President is NOT a dictator. He has to come to Congress and get authorization. Then, as Commander in chief he can direct the strike. That's how it should work.

Ya, but like I keep saying, we engage militarily pretty much all day every day.. why are you complaining about this one single instance when this guy actually sent people to be murdered, he tortured and killed over 1,600 Iranians protesting their government? Sorry, but these were not anywhere close to the most innocent people in the world.

Could it be because you are repeating establishment talking points, and that Soleimani was CIA/establishment?

Exactly. Who gives a rats ass if anyone has to actually prove there is an imminent threat in matters of International Relations...... Because #National Security and #Terrorism. Just shoot and ask questions later.

Also used as domestic logic by Law enforcement agencies to justify shooting people with wallets and/or their dick in their hands.

It won't take very long to get them home but it won't be overnight either but Iraq says they can't stay and they are coming home just like Trump said.

There are lots of bad people or bad regimes in the world, so $#@!ing what. The president is not a dictator. He cannot go round the world killing people with impunity.

    Innocent until proven guilty.

If Trump had evidence then he should take it to the international criminal court and issue an arrest warrant through interpol. That;s how you prosecute war crimes. But there is no evidence.

You're flailing dannno. Could it be because so many who say they think we should be non interventionist are touting this as a good thing? In fact standing up and cheering for it? Maybe that is the reason for the reaction?

    Huh?

No, it's the exact opposite. It's because so many who are war mongering military industrial complex tools are touting it as a bad thing.

That is precisely why he is friendly with him, so that eventually they can come to an agreement, lift the sanctions and North Korea can become a more free and prosperous country. Once again, you seem to be on the side of the war mongering neocons.

Uh, no, if he wanted to do that he could have done it after they attacked our base, or at least started some $#@! that could have led to that.

Clearly Trump is interested in peacefully resolving the situation, with the best possible outcome for all parties.

That has been demonstrated.. yet some how you missed it.

The Iranians are not interested after that attack and rightly so. They have broken the Obama agreement and are enriching uranium. They will want nukes even more now because they have a nutcase in the White House and want to protect their fundamentalist regime more than ever.
