At which point will Americans realize that creating an unaccountable institution that is able to pass its liability on to tax-payers is immoral and attracts sociopaths?

The MAGA bull$#@! artists here claim (with the help of progressive newspapers) that it's because of.... Drumroll.... Immigration.

The reality is that a guy named Ken Cuccinelli, a dirtbag prosecutor, ran for governor on the R ticket and was widely hailed as the tea party candidate here.

The trouble with that is, Cuccinelli had a past of supporting keeping sodomy laws on the books. The centerpiece case, from a long time ago, involved a late 40s male propositioning a 16 year old girl for a blowjob, which he didn't even receive... But instead of recognizing the girl was over the age of consent, and letting her learn a lesson about how some dudes are douches, Cuccinelli used the sodomy law, which said nobody in the commonwealth can have sex by the mouth - irrespective of the sexes of the participants or their marital status - to try to prosecute the guy.

Flash forward to Cuccinelli's run, which was AFTER scotus overturned the sodomy law, and some progressives pointed out Cooch's unexcusable past with this, and yes, they painted him as anti-gay despite that having nothing to do with it.

Cooch's response was to lean into it, and defend his position, at one point saying the functional equivalent of "yeah sure it gives prosecutors the power to put married couples in prison but trust me, we won't do that".

Northam only won, and Kaine only won before him, because conservatives gave up on Virginia. They ran a giy who was every bit the tyrant as Northam, but a tyrant on an issue that America decided it doesn't care about like 25 years ago.

    That's how he got elected.
There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

Thanks for that. That rings a bill with my memory, I remember hearing some of this particularly the left and their comedians having a field day with Cuccinelli over it.

That this ban is aligned with current POTUS, FBI leadership stances that made headlines in recent months.
There is addational element of arrests of 'suspected white nationalists' ahead of this rally that messaging also aligns with another MAGA diversity/minorities outreach initiative for 2020 elections.

There can be more than one reason.
Maybe it wouldn't have happened without all of the reasons that contributed.
    Immigration contributed.
