Iran Warned Iraq Before Missile Strike; Warning Was Passed on to U.S.

Iraq says that it was warned by Iran about last night’s missile attack and that this warning was passed on to the U.S., suggesting that the attack was merely a face saving effort by Tehran.
“Iraq’s prime minister’s office said on Wednesday it had received “an official verbal message” from Iran informing it that a missile attack on US forces stationed on Iraqi soil was imminent,” reported Pakistan’s Dawn News.
According to war correspondent Elijah J. Magnier, Iran told Iraq that it would only target areas of bases under U.S. control.
“Abdel Mahdi warned the Americans who took their precautions before the attack,” commented Magnier.
#Iran told #Iraq PM Adel Abdil Mahdi it will bomb only the part of the bases under #US control, which it did.
The bombing left no Iraqi casualties.

“Tehran told Washington DC through proxies that it will bomb US bases in Iraq to save face and claim it is a response for killing Soleimani,” another Middle Eastern journalist tweeted. “That’s why the USA emptied its bases hours before the attacks. Zero casualties.”
This is being repeated a lot by Middle East journalists: “Tehran told Washington DC through proxies that it will bomb US bases in Iraq to save face and claim it is a response for killing Soleimani. “Iran warned Iraq by telling them exactly where they’d attack before they fired any missiles last night,” commented Robby Starbuck. “They knew Iraq would in turn warn the United States. The attack was strictly for propaganda purposes. Reality: Iran backed down after the US killed the most evil man in Iran.”

Earlier during his address to the nation, President Trump called for Iran and the U.S. to work together to defeat ISIS and said the U.S. was ready to “embrace peace.”
Iran’s attack, which caused zero casualties, was clearly a face saving effort and an attempt to avoid escalation.
Now Trump has sent a powerful deterrence message by killing Qassem Soleiman, safe in the knowledge that Iran will do little in return.
People on both the left and the anti-Trump right having hysterical panic attacks over “World War 3” have been embarrassed yet again.

Tomorrow the show further develops the thesis that the droning of Qasem Soleimani (also spelled Suleimani, do you recall the various spellings of Bin Laden?) was an inside/outside job condoned and perhaps demanded by the Iranian government. And it thus may lead to better negotiations with Iran.

The basic thesis was that the mullahs were unable to control and keep in check this General who was becoming too popular with certain factions of Iranian society. Thus, they had to get rid of him, but could not do it directly for fear of inciting a revolution.

It's possible that this guy was even more dangerous than the No Agenda analysis indicates. The US does the dirty work and takes the blame/credit. Iran feigns disgust and sends some missiles into Iraq aimed at American bases. As predicted, nobody is hurt by this theatrical attack. In fact, one news report said, “It seems as if the troops were alerted in advance of the attack.”

A No Agenda producer sent pics of the purported debris from the missiles and it is obvious that these were not even explosive. And upon careful examination looks bogus.

This missiles look like discarded junk more than anything. These pics were supposedly taken by GI's in the area of the attacks. Looks like two shots of the same missile with pieces added as if this was a staged scene.

Influential Iraqi Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, who casts himself as a nationalist rejecting both U.S. and Iranian interference in Iraq, also said the crisis Iraq was experiencing was over and he urged militia groups not to carry out attacks.
“I call on the Iraqi factions to be deliberate, patient, and not to start military actions,,” said Sadr, whom Washington has long regarded as an Iranian ally.
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence told CBS News in an interview that the United States was receiving “encouraging intelligence that Iran is sending messages” to its allied militias not to attack U.S. targets.

After the Iranian missile attack, Iranian state television showed footage of the Soleimani burial, with hundreds of people chanting: “God is greatest” when the strikes were announced over loudspeakers. “His revenge was taken and now he can rest in peace,” Iranian television said.

It’s pretty obvious that it’s the same pieces of junk, just taken from two different angles. Nothing moved, nothing added.

Vice President Pence said Wednesday that intelligence is showing that Iran is directing its associated militias not to attack U.S. targets in the week after Gen. Qassem Soleimani’s death.
Pence told “CBS Evening News” that the militias, of which Soleimani was the “primary leader,” are being instructed to hold back on striking the U.S.
“Frankly, we’re receiving some encouraging intelligence that Iran is sending messages to those very same militias not to move against American targets or civilians,” he said. “And we hope that that message continues to echo.”

If only somebody here on the forum had described the attack as a WWF attack, as it was happening...

I don't know what to say about them.
Lee admits that the killing was legal but Rand is sounding like the people here who would have made the Navy call the Coast Guard to give the Japanese minisub a ticket when it tried to enter Pearl Harbor before the attack.
