Flashback: Trump Quits GOP, Calls Pat Buchanan "Hitler lover" While Standing Up For Diversity

It is amazing how fakenews media for last couple of years has exhibited very short memory and has been pushing bogus narratives like 'Trump is racist' while ignoring his solid pro-diversity track record going back many years.

Flashback: Trump Quits GOP, Calls Pat Buchanan "Hitler lover"
"He's a Hitler lover. I guess he's an anti-Semite. He doesn't like the blacks. He doesn't like the gays. It's just incredible that anybody could embrace this guy," Trump said.

Trump's Linconesque leadership could be also credited for speedy progress in modernising of GOP in last couple of years on diversity, health care, LGBTQ rights, minorities outreach and civil rights, abortion, anti-semitism, USMCA, gun control, daca support to name a few of his recent successes.
Bit too left wing on foreign policy still but maybe he'll aembrace progressive approach on that too once he can gain and exert greater power.

I think that quote is Trump's honest opinion. He probably likes a lot of Pat Buchanan's policies, but a few of his personal opinions make him a little uneasy.

They like some of the same policies, for slightly different reasons.

The truth is that Trump is essentially a Democrat on every issue with the exception of immigration and Moslems so he couldnt run as a Dem.

He proposed the largest tax hike in history, supported the AWB, supports govt healthcare, supports Planned Parenthood etc.

True, except even concerning immigration, he promotes private property eminent domain and wants more folks signed into the system in order to Fund the Fed via fed income tax, and eligibility for minimum wage and government programs. Just like most of today’s “republicans”. Papers please!

It's so funny that the socially liberal libertarians are always saying Trump is a liberal, yet they can't stand the guy. If he's such a liberal then he's your guy, right? You useful idiots should be backing him 100%.

I almost want to see the communists achieve their takeover just to see the look on the useful idiot left-wing libertarians faces right before they are the first ones to be shot.

I don't know of any actual libertarians who consider him any different from any other president since LBJ. We just get extra sick of seeing his fat orange ass sticking out and hearing all the disgusting smooching and slurping noises.

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

    The 'player' argument

    Pat Buchanan
Patrick Joseph Buchanan is an American paleoconservative political commentator, columnist, politician and broadcaster.

    Antisemitism
    ....
In the context of the Gulf War, on September 15, 1990, Buchanan appeared on The McLaughlin Group and said that "there are only two groups that are beating the drums for war in the Middle East – the Israeli defense ministry and its 'amen corner' in the United States." He also said: "The Israelis want this war desperately because they want the United States to destroy the Iraqi war machine. They want us to finish them off. They don't care about our relations with the Arab world."[36] Furthermore, on The McLaughlin Group Buchanan has also made such comments as "'Capitol Hill is Israeli occupied territory' and 'If you want to know ethnicity and power in the United States Senate, 13 members of the Senate are Jewish folks who are from 2% of the population. That is where real power is at ... '"[37]

Are you implying Trump was being a 'player' when he made above statement about Buchanan and did not mean what he said?

If so, is it your view that he is also "playing" a game with following statements/policies or this time he's serious?

Trump calls on Ilhan Omar to resign from Congress for ‘anti-Semitism’
    February 12, 2019
WASHINGTON (JTA) — President Donald Trump called on Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., to resign from Congress for what he said was her anti-Semitism.
“It’s terrible what she said and I think she should either resign from Congress, or she should certainly resign from the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday. “What she said is so deep-seated in her heart that her lame apology, and that’s what it was, it was lame and she didn’t mean a word of it, was just not appropriate. I think she should resign from Congress.”
Omar, in her first term in the Congress, said Sunday on Twitter that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee pays lawmakers to be pro-Israel.
