Amash is pulling a Costanza, and I fully approve.

A five-term congressman who represents a swath of West Michigan, Amash, 39, is about as conservative — albeit with a libertarian streak — as any politician in America. In 2015 he co-founded the House Freedom Caucus, a group of conservative and libertarian members who wanted changes to the way Congress operated and were willing to hold the federal government hostage to make their point. His office brims with awards from small-government groups like the Club for Growth and the National Taxpayers Union. Some congressional offices give visitors free tchotchkes from a local business in their district; Amash’s office hands out copies of Frédéric Bastiat’s 1850 treatise, The Law, an urtext of the libertarian movement. Asked to describe Amash, people who know him reach for words like “doctrinaire” and “purist” — and those are the people who admire him.

In fairness, Amash didn’t leave the Republican Party so much as the party left him

Amash is participating in the destruction of the Constitution and treason.

    Shirley...

The present clown President, and the Dem hacks about to impeach him, and the GOP hacks defending him, couldn't care less about any of that. Constitution? This is pure partisan politics, no different than the normal election during which both candidates call each other lying scum and are correct. Amash dislikes Trump because he's part of the, as you would call it, Deep State. That is, he's continuing to grow the welfare-warfare state; Amash went to Washington to prevent that, so you shouldn't be surprised: as I'm not surprised that he was hounded out of politics for stating the obvious. I can only hope that more good men like Amash, however few there may be, leave that dreadful profession and apply their talents to something more productive and interesting.

Not only are you totally wrong but destroying the Constitution and committing treason are not the right way to deal with Trump if you weren't.
Going this route would usher in tyranny if it succeeded and is destroying Amash and any chance for him to do any good because it is a fantastic failure.

The Democrats are abusing power right now with this bogus impeachment. It’s a waste of time and money purely in an attempt for partisan gain. And let’s not forget that Obama and friends illegally used the entire security apparatus of the government to attempt to defeat, and afterwards, take down a newly elected POTUS.

So if we look at relative abuse of power, Trump is going 58 in a 55 zone. Obama/Hillary and friends were driving drunk, going 120 mph in 25 mph school zone, and hit a bus full of kids incinerating them all. This has to play into the calculation.
Yeah, lets not forget Obama used the IRS to spy on political parties.

In January 2010, the Supreme Court in Citizens United held it unconstitutional to ban free speech by corporations, unions and other organizations.

In August 2010, the IRS distributed a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) list for Tea Party organizations applying for tax exempt status.

In October 2010, IRS Exempt Organization chief Lois Lerner met with the DOJ about prosecuting conservative groups.

By March 2012, amid reports of targeting, former IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman testifies there is “absolutely no targeting” by the IRS of conservative and/or Tea Party organizations. On November 9, 2012, Mr. Shulman stepped down, replaced by Steven Miller.

On May 10, 2013, during a bar meeting, Ms. Lerner admits targeting, calling it “absolutely incorrect, insensitive, and inappropriate.” Four days later, on May 14, 2013, the Inspector General issued a report confirming targeting.

On May 15, 2013, Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller resigned. President Obama named Daniel Werfel Acting Commissioner. Mr. Miller and Inspector General J. Russell George testified to the House Ways and Means Committee.

On May 22, 2013, Ms. Lerner professed her innocence then takes the Fifth. Next day, she is placed on administrative leave.

On June 12, 2013, the IRS finally suspends BOLO lists for Tea Party names.

On June 20, 2013, the IRS paid $70 million in bonuses. Ms. Lerner receives $42,000; former Commissioner Miller receives $100,000.

On June 24, 2013, the IRS admitted that “inappropriate criteria” were used for tax-exempt status. Next day, Democrats claim progressives were targeted too.

On September 24, 2013, Ms. Lerner’s retirement is announced, with full pension.

On February 3, 2014, President Obama tells Fox there’s “not a smidgen of corruption” at the IRS.

On March 11, 2014, the Committee on House Oversight and Reform issues a report on Lois Lerner.

On April 7, 2014, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen confirms there are six investigations: four by Congressional committees, one by the DOJ, one by the TIGTA. Over 250 IRS employees spend 100,000 hours, costing taxpayers at least $14 million.

On April 8, 2014, the Committee on House Oversight and Government Reform says it will pursue contempt charges against Ms. Lerner. On May 7, 2014, the House of Representatives holds Ms. Lerner in contempt of Congress.

On June 13, 2014 (Friday the 13th!), the IRS first says it lost Ms. Lerner’s emails from 2009 to 2011. The IRS says hard drives and backups are destroyed, for 6 other IRS employees’ too. The IRS spent $10 million trying to recover them.

On September 22, 2014, Ms. Lerner breaks silence to Politico, says she is the victim.

In November-December 2014, the Inspector General recovers 30,000 backed up Lerner emails.

On March 31, 2015, Obama Justice Department officials announce there will be no criminal charges for Lois Lerner.

Amash is great on all of that. Almost perfect, in fact. Well, aside from being a politician in the first place anyway. But he's committed the one unforgivable sin, according to Trump fans. He's failed to show the proper level of obsequiousness to the Cheetoh in Chief. Therefore he's a traitor.

Isn't that the truth? Trump is a lying piece of garbage and you can't trust him. Amash votes exactly like we want our small government critters to vote yet these low life scumbags who make things up about him and others who defend Amash are nothing more than gutless little weasels who are too interested in trying to be right than they care about the truth.

So because Amash wants to impeach your boy Trump it doesn't matter that he's for small government and defends Liberty. it's because he said Trumps bad. Oh the horror you must feel as Amash goes after your idol and the one who you support. Big Government Donald. Why he's the difference on if Trump gets impeached or not right? Amash is the one who will decide on this issue right? If only Amash had kept quiet Trump would never in a million years be impeached. That about sum up why you're selling out the liberty movement for your big government idol?

oh but Trump is fighting the deep state as he expands government and escalates, right? Why it all makes sense. If one is a spineless sellout.

Exactly. Those are the important issues. Impeaching a big government lying scumbag like Trump is somehow more important? Too Trumps supporters it is no doubt.

The actual issue is that the impeachment is going to help Trump, Trump did nothing wrong and Amash will likely lose his seat over it because of how he handled it. It's just sad to watch, he is giving away future liberty votes to statists over some stupid bull$#@!.
