You going to defend Iran if another country or group attacks them? Because thats what was in the deal, the other stuff about Uranium enrichment expires but we still gotta send American blood if they get attacked. No thanks.

Aren't most of these troops deployed in Saudi Arabia? Supposedly to support aircraft ot missile defense?

Wonder if they are really there to bolster the royal family? In other words, "don't mess with us, America is on our side, and troops are already here"?

Trump's guide to foreign policy seemed to be to do the opposite of anything Obama did. Obama got a treaty? He would void that treaty ("worst treaty ever!" they all were called) and get his own (even if it is identical to the Obama one). New NAFTA is old NAFTA with some TPP thrown in.

I'm not sure what alt-right-wingnut website you got that talking point from but it's not in the text of the actual agreement. Here it is all 159 pages of it.

So as long as the Pentagon only sends 13,999 additional troops to the middle east to confront Iran, technically @Swordsmyth would still be correct....but....

Seriously...what difference does it make the precise number? Why are we sending any more troops to the middle east? Why this need to "confront Iran?" And if we are serious about confronting Iran don't we need more than 14,000 troops? The problem is the policy, not the number of troops. Obama got a lot of things wrong, but one thing he got right was the nuclear deal with Iran and attempting to roll back tensions with Iran. Signing the illegal Tom Cotton letter was one of the worst mistakes Rand Paul ever made.
Rood only said that they might do anything which was always the case but there is no current plan to send more troops:

I thought the deal had some behind the scenes stuff in it that the public doesnt get to see and even the Iranian president claimed the stuff the white house released on the JCPOA wasnt accurate. I assumed Obama and Kerry weren't being honest actors and a lot of treaties have stuff in it them we werent allowed to see.
