The United Nations is now accepting job applications in New York City, New York for Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration officers to “contribute to security and stability in post-conflict environments.”
The job listing was posted to the U.N. careers homepage on Dec. 26, and notes that “female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply for this position” because “the United Nations Secretariat is committed to achieving 50/50 gender balance in its staff.”
UN DDR forces operate under the intergovernmental organization’s Department of Peace Operations to “assist” the Member States, including the United States, in a boots on the ground capacity.
The job listing describes the UN’s core values as “Integrity, Professionalism, [and] Respect for Diversity.”
Applicants eager to conduct DDR “field missions” are required to have “seven years of relevant experience in disarmament affairs, political analysis or in national military or paramilitary service” and an “advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in disarmament affairs, military studies, political affairs, economics, international relations, or a related field.”
The UN describes the Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration protocol as “a complex process, with political, military, security, humanitarian and socio-economic dimensions.”
Key components of DDR as defined by the UN include disarming the civilian population and “the development of responsible arms management programmes” and the implementation of mass detainment camps:
Disarmament is the collection, documentation, control and disposal of small arms, ammunition, explosives and light and heavy weapons of combatants and often also of the civilian population. Disarmament also includes the development of responsible arms management programmes.
Demobilization is the formal and controlled discharge of active combatants from armed forces or other armed groups. The first stage of demobilization may extend from the processing of individual combatants in temporary centres to the massing of troops in camps designated for this purpose (cantonment sites, encampments, assembly areas or barracks). The second stage of demobilization encompasses the support package provided to the demobilized, which is called reinsertion.
Reinsertion* is the assistance offered to ex-combatants during demobilization but prior to the longer-term process of reintegration. Reinsertion is a form of transitional assistance to help cover the basic needs of ex-combatants and their families and can include transitional safety allowances, food, clothes, shelter, medical services, short-term education, training, employment and tools. While reintegration is a long-term, continuous social and economic process of development, reinsertion is short-term material and/or financial assistance to meet immediate needs, and can last up to one year.
Reintegration is the process by which ex-combatants acquire civilian status and gain sustainable employment and income. Reintegration is essentially a social and economic process with an open time-frame, primarily taking place in communities at the local level. It is part of the general development of a country and a national responsibility, and often necessitates long-term external assistance.
The UN website notes that “it is important to break outside of the traditional view of DDR participants as only being adult males carrying weapons, and remember that DDR participants and beneficiaries may fit all types of profiles including female ex-combatants and women associated with armed forces and groups, children, youth, the elderly and persons living with disabilities.”
UN hopefuls hoping to work in New York and “contribute to security and stability in post-conflict environments” can submit their applications to become DDR officers December 2019 through February 2020.

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Just for those who may not have gotten this yet. This is happening TOMORROW 1/2 so it's URGENT...

    GOA and VCDL ALERT:

Please Make Plans to Attend a Meeting and Show Your Support for 2A-Protected Rights!
The state's Democratic legislature will be holding hearings on Gov. “Blackface” Northam's anti-gun budget in four locations around the state tomorrow (on Thursday).

We understand that this is short notice. But it would have a significant impact if many of our members could show up and make a 3-minute statement and ask questions of the legislators in attendance.

    Mayor Bill Peduto
We have to speak out, because your rights are under attack by the Governor of Virginia. Consider:

Governor “Blackface” is supporting SB 16, which would ban commonly-owned firearms in more than one million Virginia households -- a ban that would even outlaw sporting weapons such as the Mossberg 930 Snow Goose.
The Governor has requested $4 million and 18 law-enforcement positions to enforce his gun ban -- a request that could be the preparatory steps for confiscating the guns which would be banned by SB 16.

Moreover, the Governor is requesting another $3.5 million to enforce gun control that has NOT been passed by the legislature and is NOT even current law in Virginia: universal background checks, one gun a month limitations, so-called “red flag” gun confiscation orders, and more.

We need to get as many pro-gun Virginians as possible to attend these meetings and demand to know if the Delegates and Senators plan to allocate money -- as delineated in budget -- to confiscate common, household firearms from Virginia citizens.

You can have up to three minutes to speak to the Delegates and Senators who will be in attendance. And because they sit on the appropriations committee, you might want to consider the following types of questions for them to consider:

    1) The Governor is requesting $7.5 million to enforce a gun ban, Universal Background Checks, a one gun a month limitation, “red flag” gun confiscation orders and more. Do you support this appropriation of money even though NONE of these provisions are currently law in Virginia?

    2) Given that NONE of these gun control restrictions are currently the law in Virginia, would you support a budget amendment preventing the governor from using any funds to implement these anti-rights restrictions via executive order?

    3) Would you support a budget amendment that would prohibit any funds from being used to implement the provisions of any new Northam gun laws until a final judgement is received from the Supreme Court that they are constitutional?

    4) Would you support or oppose a budget amendment prohibiting the governor from using the National Guard or police to implement any confiscation or registration of firearms pursuant to legislation passed by the General Assembly?

    5) Would you support or oppose a budget amendment that would prohibit a locality from using any funds to implement any confiscation or registration of firearms pursuant to legislation passed by the General Assembly?

    6) Would you support or oppose any budget amendment attempting to penalize Second Amendment localities by reducing funds otherwise available to those localities because of their Second Amendment Sanctuary status?

    7) Would you support legislation to immediately outlaw and confiscate guns, without compensation, when the gun can currently be legally owned in Virginia and all 49 other states? Moreover, if that provision was challenged and overturned, would it be okay with you if the costs of such a lawsuit were placed on those legislators who voted for it?

These are just a sampling of the types of questions that could be asked of legislators on Thursday.

You will notice that all the questions above have a money slant to them. Again, that’s important because these meetings are being run by the Delegates and Senators who sit on the appropriations committee.

The official announcement from the General Assembly states that the purpose of these four meetings is to “receive comments on the Governor's proposed 2020-22 biennial state budget.”

If you wish to speak, you may “register at each hearing site no earlier than one hour prior to the start of the hearing [and] speakers are asked to limit their comments to three minutes or less.”

Here are the locations of the meetings:

    THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 2020
    (Hearings begin at 10:00 a.m.)

    • Northern Virginia
George Mason University, Hylton Performing Arts Center, Gregory Family Theatre, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, VA 20109

    • Blacksburg
Virginia Tech, Classroom Building, Room 260, 1455 Perry Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060

    THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 2020
    (Hearings begin at 12:00 noon)
    • Hampton Roads
Old Dominion University, Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center, 1030 University Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23435

    • Richmond
    J. Sargeant Reynolds Parham Road Campus, Workforce and Conference Center, 1651 E Parham Rd., Richmond, VA 23228

Supposedly Antifa and MS13 have been spotted. The source is the police though. They could be trying to keep people from showing up.

    ??
When is the last time you've heard anybody reporting that MS-13 is on the ground in Virginia and what the hell are they doing there?
Not sure what he's referring to specifically. MS-13 has been all over in Virginia for years and years.

Yeah, people def. need to record. Seems to me, though, that there are a lot of people all over, on social media, and in the news, spreading rumors to DISCOURAGE people from showing up. This is Lobby Day. Happens every single year. Yeah, this year is vastly different with all that's going on, but I still think there are those out there fearmongering specifically to reduce the numbers of hard-working, good people showing up to fight for their rights.

The Charlottesville thing must have worn off by now so it's time for a new manufactured "incident" to enter the news cycle.

That same ad was posted several years ago and it turned out it was for immigrant/refugee-related services in war zones, not American gun confiscation and/or round-ups, like it was presented by AJ to be for. New York is where the UN is based, not where the action will be or where interviews/hiring is conducted.

Virginia’s pop-up gun sanctuary movement has turned its attention to fighting the governor’s call for a $4.8 million, 18-officer team to enforce his proposed “assault weapons” ban.
Two key groups issued an alert this week to push gun owners to four budget hearings Thursday around the state, asking them to quiz state legislators if they will vote to ban or confiscate weapons.
“We understand that this is short notice. But it would have a significant impact if many of our members could show up and make a 3-minute statement and ask questions of the legislators in attendance,” said the Virginia Citizens Defense League.
“We see in the governor’s proposed budget that he wants $4 million and 18 new law-enforcement positions to enforce a ban on commonly-owned firearms,” said Erich Pratt, Gun Owners of America senior vice president.
Over 150 people in Blacksburg for the public hearing on @GovernorVA’s proposed budget. Most people in the room are here — following a call put out by gun rights group VCDL — to speak about money in Northam’s budget to support implementation of gun control. pic.twitter.com/G32p7AEC8D
    — Amy Friedenberger (@AJFriedenberger) January 2, 2020

“Gun owners want to know: Is this money going to be used for the gun confiscation?” he added.
Both groups have been key in the surprising success of the organic gun sanctuary movement in Virginia that was prompted when Gov. Ralph Northam said he’d back sweeping gun control legislation after Democrats took control of the legislature in the 2019 elections.

At today’s budget hearings, the groups have urged their members to ask questions about Northam’s budget that includes $4.8 million for an 18-person force to implement his proposed assault weapons ban.
It also features more than $2 million to hire 10 more to enforce other gun control proposals, including universal background checks, a one gun purchase per month limit, and “extreme risk legislation.”
“We need to get as many pro-gun Virginians as possible to attend these meetings and demand to know if the delegates and senators plan to allocate money -- as delineated in budget -- to confiscate common, household firearms from Virginia citizens,” VCDL wrote in an email alert.

With Virginia Democrats taking over all branches of state government, a firearms store owner in the state says sales of guns, magazines, and ammunition are up 200%, and more of his customers are paying in cash.
“This is the largest Christmas and November, December that we've had, basically, since Trump has come on board. The only other person that was a better salesman right now is when we had President Obama,” said Jerry Rapp, owner of SpecDive Tactical, in Alexandria, comparing the administrations of President Trump and his White House predecessor, Barack Obama.
“Every time [Obama] turned around he was going to ban something or make something illegal. But even that isn't even close to the amount of sales we're selling right now of magazines, of guns, of every kind of gun from pistol, rifle, shotguns, to AR platforms" and ammunition, Rapp told the Washington Examiner. "We can't keep it in stock.”

The Fairfax County General Assembly Delegation is taking public input on the 2020 General Assembly session that is about to start!

This is another important opportunity to show the General Assembly how massive the resistance is to any more gun control! Let's flood that hearing with Guns Save Lives stickers.

During the comment period politely, but firmly, state your full opposition to any more gun control that affects law-abiding gun owners. NO MORE! LEAVE VIRGINIA'S GUN OWNERS ALONE! Instead, tell the delegation to put their time and the People's money into providing better services for those with mental health problems or special needs, and improving our schools.

    ********** BIG TURNOUT NEEDED! *********

City of Virginia Beach to vote on Sanctuary/Constitutional Resolution on Monday, January 6!

BEING VIRGINIA'S LARGEST CITY, THIS IS A BIG DEAL!

Virginia Beach's Mayor has called a special session on January 6th at 6pm with one item on the agenda: a Second Amendment Constitutional Resolution (verbiage below).

Time: January 6th - Meeting starts at 6pm, but the room will fill much earlier, so get there as soon as you can to get a seat.

Location: Virginia Beach City Hall, the same location as the Dec 3rd meeting.
    2401 Courthouse Dr.
    Virginia Beach, VA 23456

Parking: There is plenty of public parking around the municipal complex on both Courthouse Drive and on the north side of George Mason Drive

Contact: If you want to speak, call the City Clerk at 757-385-4303

Carry: Carry is allowed, open or concealed, in VB City Hall. The courthouse is in a separate building. VBPD is always very thankful for our demeanor at these meetings. If you see an officer there, please take a moment to thank them for their dedication to the public and for their work.

Council will have a workshop at 4pm - prior to the formal meeting. Public comment is not taken at a workshop. Both of these meetings will be streamed at https://www.vbgov.com/media/Pages/default.aspx and televised. I would recommend everyone watch the workshop if possible to know each council member's thoughts. But remember as we discuss with the council and email them, just because they didn't sponsor the resolution, doesn't mean they don't support it. We need to ask, discuss, and convince, not attack.

Please email each council member expressing your support for this resolution at CityCouncil@vbgov.com, that email address reaches all members of council.

Or if you want to send individual emails or call each member that contact info is here https://www.vbgov.com/government/dep...l-members.aspx

If you have already reached out to VB council once, please do so AGAIN between now and Sunday - Moms Demand Action has stepped up contacting council and we need our voice to be overwhelming.

Please don't think you can sit this one out. Staying home is what cost us so many elections this past November. We need an enormous presence to offset the anti's that are organizing. Time to turn out all the Patriots again. Clear your calendar.
Overflow viewing and seating will be in Building 19 across the street from City Hall, but amassing in front of City Hall worked out great last time, let's do it again!

All those who wish to address council will be heard. The City Clerk is working hard to finalize a plan to shuffle groups of speakers into and out of the building so we don't put City Hall at over capacity again. ;-)

    Thank you for your support!

    The proposed resolution:

REQUESTED BY THE MAYOR, VICE MAYOR, AND COUNCILMEMBERS ABBOTT, MOSS, AND WILSON

A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

WHEREAS, the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees that the " right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed;"

WHEREAS, the Virginia Bill of Rights, which is part of the Constitution of Virginia, also protects the " right of the people to keep and bear arms;"

    WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court, in District of Columbia v. Heller, affirmed an individual' s right to own and possess firearms for self-defense within the home or for other lawful purposes;

    WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court, in McDonald v. Chicago, affirmed that the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution applies to the states through the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution;

    WHEREAS, the City Council strongly believes that the right of citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right that should be protected to the greatest degree possible;

    WHEREAS, the members of the City Council have taken an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia;

    WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned that certain pre-filed legislation for the 2020 session of the General Assembly may threaten the rights of law- abiding citizens to keep and bear arms guaranteed by the constitutions of the Commonwealth of Virginia and of the United States;

WHEREAS, the City Council expresses opposition to any law that would unconstitutionally restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens of the City to keep and bear arms; and

    WHEREAS, the City Council desires to act in the best interests of the residents of the City, and accordingly, the Council hereby express its sentiments with regard to this important and fundamental right;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA THAT:

    1. The City Council hereby expresses its continued commitment to support all provisions of the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, including the right of the people to keep and bear arms;

    2. The City Council hereby expresses its strong support for the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms and urges the members of the General Assembly and the Governor to take no action which would violate the freedoms guaranteed by either the Virginia Bill of Rights or the federal Bills or Rights;

    3. The City Council hereby declares the City of Virginia Beach a “Second Amendment Constitutional City;"

    4. The City Council hereby supports the actions of other elected bodies making similar declarations on behalf of Virginia counties, cities, and towns; and

    5. The City Council hereby directs the City Manager to forward a copy of this resolution to the City’s General Assembly delegation and to the Governor of Virginia.

Adopted by the City Council of the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia, on this ___ day of ___2020.

This is a crucial meeting. Highland is one of the last vestiges in Virginia that could turn green. We need a lot of people to show up.

This will be the Board's first meeting for 2 of our newly elected officials. The other (3rd) official got re-elected. His name is David Blanchard, nice fellow and typically quiet politically, but recently has given us reason to believe he’ll vote against it. Nobody can read the other two board members, Harry Sponaugle and John Moyers, Jr., both from McDowel.

Before making your way West out over Shenandoah Mtn., 1) fill up on gas and eat something, since the two town restaurants/gas stations will be closed before we finish. 2) If coming in from out of Highland, please allow the school gymnasium to be filled with Highland residents only. There should be plenty of room for out-of-towners in the school hallways and/or classrooms to stand.

This will be an organized event where several Highland citizens are scheduled to present up to a 2 minute presentation before the night is up and the new board members either vote or table it.

    3. Reminder: Virginia Beach to vote on sanctuary resolution on Monday, January 6!

The City Clerk is working hard to finalize a plan to shuffle groups of speakers into and out of the building so we don't put City Hall at over capacity again. ;-)

    4. ACTION ITEM: Clarke County to vote on sanctuary resolution on Monday, January 6!

    Let's make this happen!

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors has a work session set to consider the wording of a resolution. Vote may occur at work session if there is agreement.

    Monday, January 6, 10:00 am

    Government Center
    Second Floor, Main Meeting Room
    101 Chalmers Court, Berryville

    5. RSVP for Pre-Lobby Day Dinner on Sunday, January 19

VCDL will once again have our Lobby Day dinner at the Hibachi Sushi and Supreme Buffet on Sunday night, January 19, at 6 pm. We are attempting to negotiate a group rate, so we need an accurate head count.

If you plan to attend, please email Bob Sadtler at bob.sadtler@VCDL.org. To make it easy to tally, please put the number in your party in the subject line.

Yeah, they tried and it backfired. There's tons of people there, this has been going on for over 3 hours now....
In the middle of a workday with no notice. They have NO clue what they've awakened in Virginia.

VA Beach last night was a fantastic turnout as well.

Dear ZH readers, you may recall that I have mentioned Max Alexander, from time to time, recommending his books and the excellent training he provides for surviving hostile environments. Although his Velocity Training Center is in West Virginia, Max lives in Virginia, where he and all liberty-loving Virginians have found themselves facing a new liberal governor, Red Ralph, a Democrat state house of representatives, and Democrat state senate, which are clearly hell bent on destroying the Bill of Rights, especially the Second Amendment, and criminalizing our natural right to defend our life, liberty, and property.

Max has been writing some good stuff about this potentially, if not probably, volatile situation on his blog and forum, and I am going to re-post two of these items, below, for our discussion. I hope you read this, watch the videos, and pay very close attention to what happens in Richmond, Virginia, on the 20th of this month, Lobby Day.

Virginia Beach passes resolution to make itself a Second Amendment sanctuary

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/virgini...ry-gun-owners/

    By Brandi Kellam

    January 7, 2020 / 3:04 PM / CBS News

Virginia Beach — Virginia Beach plans to make the city a sanctuary for gun owners, in anticipation of gun control legislation it expects to see passed into state law, since the legislature is now controlled by Democrats, and the sitting governor, Ralph Northam, is also a Democrat.

The Virginia Beach City Council, by a 6 to 4 vote, adopted a resolution Monday declaring itself a "Second Amendment Constitutional City." It stated "its continued commitment to support all provisions of the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, including the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

Under the resolution, the city government will not use its resources to prosecute anti-gun laws, even though any state laws limiting gun use would supersede the local government's authority.

    That deserves posting his article.

Virginia: Let’s get down to the heart of the Issue.

As we sit here on Christmas Eve, we can reflect on the overwhelming groundswell response across Virginia, to the threats of tyranny from Richmond. The MSM is carefully not mentioning any of it. Yet the vast majority of counties and towns have declared themselves as either 2A Sanctuaries, or Constitutional Counties. This has resulted in more rhetoric from Richmond, including threats of violence against the citizens of Virginia.

None of this is complicated. You do not need to be an attorney to understand the Constitution. In regards to the 2A, it says right there:

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed…..”

This is really a struggle about rights, although focused at this time on the Second Amendment. It is about the rights of the citizens in opposition to the increasing tyranny of the leftists. However, the mindset of those tyrants in Richmond is fascinating: They do not appear to see the predicament they have put themselves in. They are doubling down. You see, they believe their own propaganda. It is clear to any sensible citizen that they are preparing to enact a huge tyranny across Virginia. But the left does not see it that way; they twist the meaning of ‘Constitutional’ and believe that they can pass ‘laws’ that are in fact repugnant to the Constitution, and have them validated by black-robed leftists in a corrupt court system. There have already been statements that any law enforcement officer, not enforcing these proposed new laws, will be fired. Even threats of raising the National Guard for employment in violence against the Citizens of the State. I won’t bore with a full summary, most of you know what is going on.

However, the real reason I decided to sit down and write this article was something I am tracking in comments across the board. It is fear. What do I mean by that? Essentially, it is your normalcy bias not registering the seriousness of our situation. This forces you to act in what you see as a ‘rational’ way, but that in fact is an advantage to the leftists in Richmond.

You see, you are in fear of ‘the authorities.’ You are in fear of saying something that may get you in trouble. You don’t want to cause a fuss. You are a ‘law abiding citizen.’ The usual response to these sort of gun ‘laws’ coming down the pike, as seen in other States, is for people to scuttle and run, and look to ways they can ‘sort of’ get around the ‘laws.’ But God Bless Virginia! Things have gone differently here, and we have a chance. We have a chance to push back on this tyranny, and maybe even create a wave going back into other lost States where they may be able to stand and reclaim their Liberty. Because make no mistake, the leftists are playing for keeps, and if We (The People) lose this now, we will lose it forever, for our kids and grand kids, forever.

The whole Virginia thing has been great so far. However, it may seem to you to be a political / Facebook struggle right now. Making some noise to hope to avoid the promised plans from the Democrat majority in the 2020 session. Posting a meme is fairly low effort, low risk. But make no mistake, this is EXACTLY the kind of tyranny that the 2A is there to prevent. Do not sit in denial. Thus, it is possible that on July 1st 2020, you may become a felon, for standing by your natural and enumerated right to self-defense. It is your duty as a free citizen to NOT ALLOW THE 2A TO BE INFRINGED.

We mostly don’t want to think about it, but there may come a time, and it may be soon, where we face an armed struggle for our rights. If this happens, it will be absolutely because Richmond tried to enact tyranny and force it down our throats. Don’t be duped by the way they talk about ‘laws’ and having them obeyed. Any Virginia Citizen knows their Constitution, and knows what is right and what is wrong. Be absolutely clear in your mind that if this comes to violence, it will be the fault of Richmond. This is why I am writing this article – because I don’t think many of you are there yet. You need to get your mindset right. You need to have your kit packed and ready to go, in case Richmond sends armed men against us.

We are not here making threats. Chest beating is pointless. I’m not one for spurious rhetoric. We are standing by as free citizens, and you need to get your head in the game in terms of what it may mean depending on what comes down the pike from Richmond. To me, there is no course of action other than to ensure that YOUR RIGHTS are not infringed. As such, you will very likely need to be prepared to ACT in SELF-DEFENSE should Richmond send armed men against you. That this may happen is totally un-American, and seems almost impossible in our times of peace and prosperity. But it appears we are there, on the very cusp of that tyranny. If we do not stand, then we lose it for all that come after us. It is a civic duty as free American citizens.

Reminder: If a right is not defended, then it is not a right, and is lost.

Here in Culpeper, we are doing all that we can to avoid such a situation. Through the Culpeper County 2A movement (and Facebook page) we succeeded in having Culpeper voted as a Constitutional County by the Board of Supervisors. We are working on the Culpeper Town Council. We are working on campaigns and rallies, because becoming a Sanctuary is just the beginning.

I have created, as a subsection of Culpeper County 2A, a Facebook Group called Culpeper Volunteers. No, it isn’t a militia, but a pro-bono community outreach of Max Velocity Tactical, where will put on some free training. Nothing we are planning involves violence, or terrorism, or civil disorder of any kind: we simply want to lawfully improve the readiness of County residents to protect their family and community should the need arise. As part of this, I am creating specific threads on the MVT Forum, posted to the Culpeper Volunteers group, in order to address specific issues such as equipping the Patriot etc.

But despite all this, what happens if you, as a law abiding citizen, become a felon in 2020? Because it seems these leftists in Richmond are hell bent on passing these laws, they have the majority, and they think they are in the right. I would not even be surprised, if due to the possible attendance at Lobby Day on January 20th 2020, that something (false flag?) happens to create a situation. It may even go hot. What happens then? That does not give us the six months to campaign that we currently think we have. What if, at some point, a state of Insurrection is declared in Virginia?

It may even be that once the laws are enacted, nothing specifically happens. However, as I stated above, what you need to do is not scuttle and hide. You need to stand up as a responsible Citizen. What could this mean? Perhaps business as usual with going to the range, wherever that is, even in your backyard? Do not acknowledge that any ‘laws’ have even been enacted. Carry on as normal. Particularly if your County has already declared itself a Sanctuary. It may be the case that raids are conducted by armed men in the employ of the State in order to create an example – I would suggest the creation of mutual support groups in your area, in order to make that impossible.

I personally am sick and tired of the laws in this Country being corrupted in the name of tyranny, so we now have a situation where even writing what I have written today is something that will be avoided, for fear of consequences. I would like to see some Federal support for Virginia from the Trump Presidency, perhaps even stopping Governor Northam’s proposed raising of the National Guard to enforce his tyranny. But this is where we have the essential issue – we have a Deep State and elites who are forcing this upon us, and a corrupted government security apparatus. Anyone working for the sort of Agency that will read this, should have sworn an oath to the Constitution. To act against normal American citizens who are only standing for their Constitutional rights is criminal. This has got to stop. There are many things that standing up to this tyranny from Richmond may achieve – and throwing off the yoke of Tyranny is perhaps the most noble. This may be our one and only chance. Put the middle finger up to Richmond!

I advise you to work on your preparations. Physical fitness, equipment, and training. You have to understand that what is happening in Virginia is not the normal way of things. It has not gone this way in other States; normally, the tyranny is simply enacted. In Virginia, the people are reacting and saying NO. This is unique. However, in that unique way, it may lead to places not normally contemplated in our affluent and lazy society. When the Regulars marched to Lexington, they were faced by people who were certainly terrified of the consequences of defying the tyranny of the Crown. And recall, at that time they DID NOT EVEN HAVE the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to hang their hats on; simply an idea of Liberty that must be defended. Whoever fired that shot, it was certainly heard around the world. In our case, we must not fire any shots first, but we must be prepared to act in self-defense should the State act in tyranny and send armed men against us.

Gun reality vs. gun fantasy in Virginia

    hxxps://www.washingtonpost.com/local/gun-reality-vs-gun-fantasy-in-virginia/2020/01/06/767d6c0e-30b1-11ea-9313-6cba89b1b9fb_story.html

    By Petula Dvorak

    Jan. 6, 2020 at 6:42 p.m. EST

Let’s talk reality and fantasy in Virginia.

Just minutes into New Year’s Day, it rained glass inside Justin Tate’s car, as a celebratory bullet shot into the sky at midnight fell back to the earth through his sunroof as he drove down Interstate 64, not far from the Richmond airport, according to CBS 6 News.

Less than half an hour later in the western part of the state, in the parking lot of Kickback Jack’s sports bar in Danville, a 25-year-old woman was shot in the leg by a 24-year-old man during a domestic dispute. The shooter took off and hasn’t been arrested, according to the Danville police.

Later that day, in a small town not far from the parking-lot shooting, an earnest, new Martinsville police officer named Michael Panos was airlifted to a hospital after a man who fled a traffic stop turned his gun on officers once they chased him down, hitting Panos. The officer, about to celebrate two years with the department, survived, according to ABC News 13.

And on the third day of 2020, a man upset with his order at a McDonald’s drive-through in Lynchburg parked his car, walked up to the counter and began firing his gun at employees, hitting two high school-age girls who worked there. The shooter fled and hasn’t been caught, and the girls survived, according to the Lynchburg police.

Shattered glass, shattered bones, shattered lives. This the reality of gunfire in Virginia.

Yes, Virginia, you have a gun problem

Most sensible people (like most of the developed world, for example) would look at innocent people being shot and see a problem.

After the springtime massacre of 12 people by a worker-turned-mass-shooter at the Virginia Beach municipal complex, and after the state legislature did absolutely nothing about it, the moms took revenge.

Moms Demand Action, a branch of Everytown for Gun Safety, worked their tails off campaigning for people who would work to change Virginia’s lax gun laws.

They gathered in Washington to plan grass-roots strategies, advocacy and lobbying efforts.

They wore sensible shoes and brought snacks in canvas bags. They even got tattoos.

What happened was a monumental, game-changing victory that flipped the state legislature as well as the U.S. House of Representatives.

Voters in Virginia who are tired of the relentless gun violence — 65 percent of which is suicide — elected a fleet of new legislators who campaigned on long overdue changes to Virginia’s gun laws.

There are measures to ban assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, bump stocks and silencers. There are proposals to require background checks on all firearms sales and transfers, as well as limit handgun purchases to one a month.

And there is a move to adopt the same kind of “red flag law” in at least a dozen other states that allow law enforcement to temporarily remove guns from people deemed a threat to themselves or others, thwarting domestic violence shootings and suicides.

That’s it. It’s pretty common sense and allows the hunters, the farmers, the law-abiding homeowners who want protection to keep guns and buy more guns.

But this is where the gun enthusiasts’ fantasies begin, as detailed by my colleagues Gregory S. Schneider and Laura Vozzella.

The gun guys are scared out of their minds that someone’s going to come and take their guns. (Again, fantasy.)

They live in a make-believe world where they are the heroes and the patriots under attack.

They are retweeting old photos of white U.N. trucks saying they are “gun control shock troops” coming in to disarm Virginians. (Debunked by Snopes.com in 2016.)

They’ve issued threats against Gov. Ralph Northam (D).

They are recruiting military and law enforcement members to come in and train posses and militias across the state.

They believe the fantasy that they are good guys with guns who will stop bad guys with guns, despite a recent study by the National Bureau of Economic Research that shows places that allow concealed carry weapons see eventual increases in gun violence.

So amid the dawn of a bloodstained decade in Virginia, a website called AmmoLand issued a call:

“Our patriot brothers and sisters in Virginia need our boots on the ground, and they need us to stand shoulder to shoulder with them, as they stand against unconstitutional violations of multiple provisions of the Bill of Rights. We need you to help!” read the call to arms from the gun rights group on Jan. 2.

Counties across Virginia, egged on by extremists, began declaring themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries.”

Um, like safe spaces for imaginary cowboys, I guess.

In their imaginary war, they dress up in tactical gear and open carry whenever they can.

But this time, they’re going to try a new fantasy, as they plan to gather in Richmond in January for a rally to rival the fatal disaster in Charlottesville.

The moms aren’t having it, though.

“We will be there every single day to make sure these life-saving laws are passed,” said Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action.

This push to focus on Virginia, to arm more citizens and form menacing posses, is an armed “temper tantrum” to try to subvert democracy, Watts said, remembering this past summer when the pro-gun crowd armed to the teeth and dressed for combat stared down scores of moms who came on buses.

They knew it was menacing. And they want to tone it down, just for one day, on Jan. 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

“We urge you to dress like average Americans, not in camo or full battle rattle,” the AmmoLand guys said.

“Our purpose is to be force multipliers for the people of Virginia. . . . please no camouflage or military gear. We want to present as quiet professionals. That is according to the wishes of the event organizers and of the Virginia patriot groups we are already working with, who have the most skin in the game in their home state. Please respect their wishes and help them in their chosen strategy. They also prefer that we go concealed carry for those who will be carrying. And they prefer that there be no long guns at the rally.”

The folks coming in from all over trying to make a stand on their hobby are not “average Americans.”

They are people who want a culture war, a fight, a reason to feel powerful and superior to the people who are in hospitals, doctor’s offices and funeral homes living with the reality of an unhealthy and irrational obsession with guns.
