    According to the article in the OP:

    But Hassoun was never accused of any act or plot of violence.
    But he must be a threat! We must hold him under that law we claim to hate so much! Even without charges! Because we support liberty!

    He wrote one check after 9/11 and did his time in jail for that. Nothing violent and nothing since.

    If a man has completed his sentence, he should be released. What law should he still be in jail for violating that he was convicted of?

    You claim to want the Patriot Act repealed yet want this man detained without charges under one of its more questionable clauses.

    Or are you saying you are not a real libertarian?
    None of the four of you can answer this very simple question;

    What is your solution?

    Completely ignoring all of the facts of his case, there is an enumerated punishment for the crimes that he committed, and the government has exceeded that punishment. What you're proposing that that either the government have the ability to disregard both law and judicial rulings (sacrificing two of the three branches on the altar of the third in a rather SwordSmythian manner), or else that... what, the howling mob can just decide which people should be jailed and for how long, based upon whatever opinion has been fed to them through their idiot boxes?

    The argument only gets worse if you actually bother to read the facts at hand. The proceedings of the investigation and trial conducted should sound very familiar to anyone who knows how the government treats militias and anti-government movements. If he were, say, white and christian instead of brown and muslim, and if his choice of charities were ever so slightly different (Irish, perhaps), then the usual media outlets would have been regurgitating words of 'freedom,' 'liberty,' and so on onto the faces of the exact same people in the exact same mob, who would have greedily devoured every bit of it and begun howling for him not to have been jailed in the first place.
    He would be released in the US?? You still dodge it and won't go on record lol

    “The right to life is the source of all rights—and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.”

    Never judge a commie by his cover.

    The ACLU’s chief founders were communists and communist sympathizers, including top Communist Party officials William Z. Foster, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, and Louis Budenz. Roger N. Baldwin, another of the co-founders (and the ACLU’s executive director from 1920-1950) may not have been an official card-carrying CPUSA member, but he was a willing collaborator. He wrote:

    I am for socialism.... I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.... I don’t regret being part of the communist tactic. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the communists wanted and I traveled the United Front road to get it.

    Despite utilizing more moderate rhetoric than many of their earlier Bolsheviki forebears, the NLG and the ACLU have not swerved from their leftward course. Neither have they deviated from Comintern plan for exploiting immigration and migration issues to batter down our borders and transform the United States into a mere cog in a global socialist system. But don’t expect any of the fake journalists of the Fake News organizations to mention any of this.

    Weird thing is, the article that you posted and your views on individual rights seem to line up pretty well. So here I agree, “Never judge a commie by his cover.“ Thing is, I’ve had you pegged pretty much from day one.

    LOL

    Go ahead and take the side of the people who say "I am for socialism.... I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.... I don’t regret being part of the communist tactic. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. He has family here in the US- all legal- who will take care of him.
