Google's Secret 'Project Nightingale' Gathers Personal Health Data on Millions of Americans

    https://tech.slashdot.org/story/19/1...s-of-americans

Google is teaming with one of the country's largest health-care systems on a secret project to collect and crunch the detailed personal health information of millions of Americans across 21 states, WSJ reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter and internal documents. From the report:

The initiative, code-named "Project Nightingale," appears to be the largest in a series of efforts by Silicon Valley giants to gain access to personal health data and establish a toehold in the massive health-care industry. Amazon.com, Apple and Microsoft are also aggressively pushing into health care, though they haven't yet struck deals of this scope. Google launched the effort last year with St. Louis-based Ascension, the country's second-largest health system. The data involved in Project Nightingale includes lab results, doctor diagnoses and hospitalization records, among other categories, and amounts to a complete health history, complete with patient names and dates of birth.
Google thinks its fine to censor anything "natural" or does not make it money, but your health records wont be censored when they sell your data to your Insurance Company / Church / School / Employer / Hobos with two pennies to rub together. What could possibly go wrong?

Anyone over 30 might give a $#@!, but so many are so distracted and lazy to learn anything about how to defend their privacy on a technical level they have just given up. Younger people seem to be the exact opposite, yet, just as ignorant. The younguns think they understand technology because they can tap an icon on a $#@!ing screen. Most seem to be hopelessly brainwashed to think Privacy Bad Orange Man Bad Socialism Naziism Good. They think privacy is only a thing that gets in their way of communicating with "their friends" who wouldnt bother to piss on them if they were on fire, all the while Google watches every single $#@!ing thing a person does, and compiles a list of "who is Googlag's REAL Enemies" and how to take them out. Google, with its data on individuals, essentially acts as judge jury and executioner of anyone who does not repeat the propaganda they spew forth.

    It's stalking and theft.
You have a right to at least half ownership and control of your data along with the entity on the other end of whatever activity generated it, and the idea of a EULA or similar legalistic garbage overriding that is unconscionable, there is a reason for the concept of an unconscionable contract and no amount of libertarian purism will solve it.

Tyranny by "private" entities is still tyranny and it is doubly so when they are symbionts of government or even just plain sockpuppets of government.
