NY Times: ‘Tidal Wave’ of Mass Immigration Hands Virginia to Democrats

A “tidal wave” of mass immigration has “tilt(ed) the field toward the Democrats” in the state of Virginia, the New York Times admits.

Last week, Democrats took control of Virginia’s House of Delegates and the State Senate. Now, the Democrats hold power over the state’s legislature, the governor’s seat and the lieutenant governor’s seat — the first time since 1993 that this has occurred.
The New York Times now admits that four to five decades of mass immigration — where about 1.2 million legal immigrants are admitted to the United States every year — has shifted Virginia into a blue state:
Not long ago, this rolling green stretch of Northern Virginia was farmland. Most people who could vote had grown up here. And when they did, they usually chose Republicans. [Emphasis added]
The fields of Loudoun County are disappearing. In their place is row upon row of cookie-cutter townhouses, clipped lawns and cul-de-sacs — a suburban landscape for as far as the eye can see. Unlike three decades ago, the residents are often from other places, like India and Korea. And when they vote, it is often for Democrats. [Emphasis added]

“It’s a totally different world,” said Charles Poland, 85, a retired history professor whose family has lived in Loudoun County for four generations. His family farm is now dotted with subdivisions filled with four and five-bedroom homes that sell for $750,000. The family legacy is a road named Poland. “If my parents came back today, they wouldn’t recognize the place. The changes came like a tidal wave.” [Emphasis added]
As Breitbart News analyzed, Virginia’s foreign-born population has boomed over the last few decades. In 1990, Virginia was home to less than 312,000 foreign-born residents. Today, there are close to 1.1 million, almost four times what the population was three decades before.
In 2019, 1-in-10 Virginia residents are foreign-born. In 1990, only about 1-in-28 residents were born outside the U.S.

Was up in the mountains trying to ride across the Kacamangus pass over Columbus Day weekend.

Could not make it, had to turn around because my daughter's bike was overheating in stuck traffic.

Half the population of Bombay was in those mountains...seriously...99 out of hundred cars I spotted were packed with wogs from NY, NJ, MA and God knows where.

It was depressing and creepy at the same time.

And how fitting the day...as I've said a thousand times or more...ask these guys what they think of unbridled, uncontrolled migration of a people foreign and hostile to your customs, ethnicities and traditions into the heart of your nation.

It's only too late for a peaceful solution that leaves America intact, our hopes now lie with solutions that divide America or involve civil war or both.

I am not surprised. Because people like him whose from India, North Korea do not understand the American constitution there fore they want the constitution changed and in doing so they honestly believe that banning guns or banning people from buying that it would prevent shootings and crime but it wont.

White Republicans need to wake up and realize that Demographics is destiny is indeed a destiny for use for control. Democrats known already how to lie to the immigrants and win every election.

    On the nosey.

Indian treaties going all the way back to the 17th century almost always included a provision that demanded the Indians turn in their arms.

That's the idea and that's why Democrats want to ban guns so ordinary Americans mostly whites i assume wont able to resist nor rebel agaisnt the new government that would be in control.

The American democrat president then would change the American constitution even limiting Free Speech if they put and force in Leftist Judges. You have to ask one though why have every American democrats turned out like this? what has cracked in their brains?

    Evil and globalism are responsible.
    The left has chosen both.

Strange coincidence, never thought NYT (as reported by Breitbart) and Ann Coulter ( as reported by Drudge today) would be admitting same thing on same day.
Although, Coulter sort of went too far and invoked the term "idiots" for folks who identify as 'Republicans'... hopefully she was not referring to GOPA wing Republicans.

YES, VIRGINIA, IMMIGRATION IS TURNING THE COUNTRY BLUE

Hey, Republicans! Did you enjoy Election Night last week? Get ready for a lot more nights like that as immigration turns every last corner of the country blue.

When Ed Gillespie lost in Virginia, liberals crowed about how they're winning the war of ideas. The country has thoroughly, emphatically rejected Trumpism!

Republicans, being idiots, played along, arguing only about whether Gillespie's problem was that he didn't embrace Trump enough or embraced him too much.

Gillespie's campaign was fine. No cleverer arguments, community outreach or perfectly timed mailings would have changed the result. Contrary to The New York Times' celebratory article in last Sunday's magazine, "How the 'Resistance' Helped Democrats Dominate Virginia," it wasn't Democratic operative Kathryn Sorenson's savvy use of Facebook, Google and Eventbrites that carried the day. "The Resistance" didn't win.

What happened was: Democrats brought in new voters. In 1970, only one out of every 100 Virginians was foreign-born. By 2012, one in nine Virginians was foreign-born.

The foreign-born vote overwhelmingly, by about 80 percent, for Democrats. They always have and they always will -- especially now that our immigration policies aggressively discriminate in favor of the poorest, least-educated, most unskilled people on Earth. They arrive in need of a LOT of government services.

According to the Pew Research Center, 75 percent of Hispanic immigrants and 55 percent of Asian immigrants support bigger government, compared to just over 40 percent of the general public. Even third-generation Hispanics support bigger government by 58 percent.

Polls show that immigrants are far more likely to support Obamacare and affirmative action than the general public, and are far less likely to support gun rights and capitalism.

YES, VIRGINIA, IMMIGRATION IS TURNING THE COUNTRY BLUE
This has been obvious throughout my entire lifetime, my parents and grandparents lifetime. As said above Pat pointed it out and no one would listen. Rather they listen to unbeknown to them their adversaries in the news media that label anyone that points out the obvious as anti-semitic or racist, despite it was always obvious to the rest of us if they are opening their mouths they they are lying. The ignorant American majority gets what it deserves. It is shame we have and continue to suffer with them.

Regional secessionist movements appear to be the only solution, with an alliance to an America first defense pack so we do not have foreign adversaries filling the void.

Correction, Drudge today linked to Coulter's 2017 article that has similar headline as NYT headline in OP.

Opinions can be right or wrong but if a statement of facts is incorrect, be specific and quote precisely what you are referring to. That is if you're serious about debating issues, otherwise carry on. Quite a few times when logic and premises behind your vown statements are challenged, you seem to vanish from the debate.

Don't be such an alarmist, with recent national unity initiatives launched by modern day Abe Lincoln aka MAGA Trump, there is hope that union could propser more than ever before. Trump is our best hope to give us a fighting chance when the civil war comes but it is unlikely he can prevent it entirely.
If he is as successful as he can be the left will start an uprising and if his success is limited we will have to rebel or secede from the inevitable leftist regime that will follow.

I don't even know where to start with this thread.

Swordy quotes an article saying that Northern Virginia is filling up with Indian and Korean immigrant voters. Then Swordy's last post says Trump is the last hope to save the country from immigrant voters. But it's also well documented that Trump advocates strongly for MORE H1B visas, given to Indian and Korean immigrants. However, H1B holders can't vote (yheir anchor babies will be able to). So, the voters in question are long time citizens and most are part of the government hierarchy that makes up the majority of Northern Virginia voters, that of course always vote for bigger government. They vote for it not because they are immigrants or Democrats but rather because their job security self interest requires it. And then Donald dutifully signs every bigger, more expensive and bloated, government spending bill put in front of him, but he's the savior from immigrant voters that vote for bigger government?

Do you realize how f'in absurd this circular (lack of) logic is??

Never mind that Lincoln is NOT a President to emulate, unless you want to emulate a President that was responsible for declaring war on his own people, the death and destruction of half of the country and the corporatization of the country, in the wake of that death and destruction, that turned the once free land inhabitants of America into literal government corporate property via the 1871 Act and the rewriting of the original Constitution.

This didn't use to be the case. In 1992 55% of Asian American voters voted for Bush. I can probably guess which policy changes the GOP went through between then and now that drove them away.

Bush was a Demoncrat in Republican clothing and the Republicans have been bending over backwards to appease immigrants at the cost of harming Americans.
The reason immigrants have shifted to the Demoncrats is because Republicans have become slightly less socialist and Demoncrats have gone berserk offering them free stuff.

The Immigrants DO vote, voter fraud is rampant and it doesn't take that long for them to get citizenship.
And Trump may talk a lot about h1bs etc. but he has drastically cut down on immigration both legal and illegal and will do so even more, if he doesn't then we need someone who will.
