    Calling out the hypocrites...

It’s funny that before THIS whistleblower, many who are now criticizing my stance chose not to defend perhaps the greatest whistleblower of all time –Snowden. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said of Snowden, “If Mr. Snowden had the courage of his convictions, he would come back to the country, stand trial, and tell the American people and a jury why he thought what he did was justified.”

It seems Schumer’s defense of whistleblowers depends upon the subject whistled.

I believe it is very simple: the Sixth Amendment guarantee of confronting your accuser supersedes all statutes. Any whistleblower who alleges a crime ultimately will have to face their accused in court. Even the New York Times acknowledges this fact.

With regard to withholding aid, I think all foreign aid is unconstitutional, but even given today’s parameters for aid, the law requires that any country that receives it must be free of corruption.

One thing for certain, though, is that both sides have tried to condition aid on investigations. President Obama never gave Ukraine the lethal aid that Congress appropriated. Biden bragged that he threatened to withhold a billion dollars in aid if Ukraine didn’t fire the prosecutor. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) just last year threatened Ukraine’s aid if they didn’t keep investigating Trump. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) in September threatened Ukraine’s aid if they dared to investigate Hunter Biden. Hillary Clinton hired a foreign spy, Christopher Steele, to investigate and produce the Steele dossier.

I think fairness dictates that they all be judged with the same standard. Fairness requires public testimony and cross-examination of the whistleblower.

But fairness isn’t in the equation right now for partisan Democrats.

    Man, that was horrible.

Oddly enough I only got 1 reply. Wonder if they deleted a bunch of my posts.

Weird. I don't see any new comments there. Using the "sort by newest" setting, the last comment I posted there 2 hours ago, still shows up as the last comment posted. Makes me wonder if I'm the only one that can see my comments (like shadow-banning), but I dumped all my cookies before going there (so I'm not logged in) and I still only see my own comment last. I only sign in with disqus - never with social media. Can they shadow ban you by recognizing your IP address? Whatever. Almost every single one of the comments are uninformed inane, half-assed opinions. I usually avoid the hill for this reason. Hate wasting time arguing with such numbskulls - but Rand is really showing the sick hypocrisy of the democrats and I hate how the truth is not getting out!

edit/update: Okay now there's one new post, but it's just another rand-hating dunce. Don't see nothing that could be yours, dannno.

Rand is assuming people in general have principles, they don't. The politicians will know what they were guilty of but like some have posted, the comment section is a mess, because people don't remember Snowden because orange man bad.

Im just going to say that there must be something big Rand is planning to ask for Trump's support on. He is really going out to bat big time over the whistleblower issue. Not like its unwarranted but he is right now the most vocal senator on this topic.

Trump supported some of Rand's initiatives which resulted in tangible results.

Very possible Rand is going to push Trump on the penny plan (or something better) in second term. I think if Trump wins re-election, he will attempt to balance the budget on his 7th or 8th year in office. That way he can say he did it and it erases all of the big spending he did during presidency. Its all about legacy, he wants to be able to say he did it all.
Rand Paul : Ultimately, if someone's going to accuse you of something that's going to bring down a presidency, I think we deserve to know who that person is.

So if Rand Paul holds the same exact position as his father, it makes him embarrassing?

Did Hillary withhold aid to our own in Benghazi?

That's what I always figured. Build the military back up, build the infrastructure back up, build the wall, bring a good portion of the troops home and then balance the budget before leaving. Then drop the mic.
