Ron Paul, weeks ago, said you should be able to face your accuser, on this topic specifically.

    Edward Snowden was a whistleblower

Rand Paul : Ultimately, if someone's going to accuse you of something that's going to bring down a presidency, I think we deserve to know who that person is.

So if Rand Paul holds the same exact position as his father, it makes him embarrassing?

    Hmmm...ok r3volution 3.0

    No, they are completely wrong.

Whistleblowers get protection from being fired. They get protection from being prosecuted or jailed.

They do not get anonymity protection, that is totally unconstitutional.

The article says people wished Rand was more like his dad... well... his dad agrees with him on this, so wtf.

Reason has been fairly consistent in attacking Ron and Rand at critical times. Candy, candy, candy, poison.

On all of these politicians and pundits who are crying crocodile tears and saluting the flag over this so-called “whistle blower”, somebody should dig out their quotes about Snowden, Manning and other real whistle blowers. We would probably find a very high hypocrisy rate...

So a libertarian magazine is libertarian and you are mad? You have a picture of an agrarian populist buffoon in your avatar.

Reason Magazine attacked Ron Paul several times. The only one who I like is John Stossel!
Stop pandering to the left. They hate us all. They call Ron Paul a "white supremacist" & they call Rand Paul a "russian traitor"!
Pat Buchanan is a Paleoconservative & he agrees with Ron Paul on most issues.
Don't forget he endorsed Pat Buchanan for President in 92!

I am NOT a Donald Trump fan. And I do not defend Rand Paul when I think he's wrong. Both @Swordsmyth and @dannno can attest to that. But....in this case...Rand is 100% correct. It's not about "outing" the whistleblower. It's about the fact that with an actual impeachment trial going on, the whistleblower must be "outed" at some point, unless Trump waives his 6th amendment rights, which he's not inclined to do. Further Rand has brought up a valid point that with this whistleblower being a holdover Ukraine expert from the Obama/Biden administration, he should be cross examined over his thoughts on the Joe Biden conflict of interest in seeking to fire a prosecutor investigating a company that was paying Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden $50,000 per MONTH!

He's not a whisleblower and either way outing him isn't a big deal.

Eric Ciaramella is a disgruntled Democrat.

The Democrat whiner is not a "whistleblower".

Reason is garbage not not very libertarian.

Americans are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Can anyone even name a crime that Eric Ciaramella is claiming Trump committed?

Rand Paul is right on this. In a Republic we are supposed to have rule of law and what Democrats are doing is simply trying to destroy Trump in the court of public opinion.

Rand was late in 2016 in going tough on Obama, Trump was politically smart early on and rightly sensed pulse of the GOP.

Hopefully Rand won't be late this time and stick with the globalist Adelsons funded politicians for too long.

During Obama years, Rand supported expanding of the whistleblower statute

That's nice. Tapper is pointing out that Rand was in favor of expanding the whistleblower statute to government contractors. Rand did not say he supported expanding the whistleblower statute to the point where if violated the 6th amendment right to face your accusers. Misleading tweet by Jake Tapper. Why am I not surprised?

I find it very interesting when groups like Reason decide to defend particular rights over others. If you watch, you'll notice a pattern. Let's just say there's a Reason why the movement is in the toilet.

The movement was infiltrated by agents of the left who use it to destroy liberty instead of advancing it.
