Thread: Trump did not indulge his "inner Libertarian" with sending of more troops to Iraq

Can you share with the less informed here who's the 'founding father' of current version of ISIS that was recently 'defeated and destroyed'?

More troops will come home and the remaining troops will leave Syria in a phased withdrawal.

He has already been attacked by Republicans for avoiding war with Iran and now Turkey, he has to show that he is "protecting our interests and our allies" while arranging to end the wars and bring the troops home.
Nice try with the spin. There is no defending him on this. Trump is a fraud.

That's just desperate nonsense, my stances are clear and unchanging and I oppose things Trump does that are in opposition to them.

When MSM Outlets or American officials whatever GOP Neocon or Lib say that
"ISIS wil return if we leave Syria"

That is usual a clear indicator that America created ISIS and even Iraqis know that.

Most of ISIS fighters and commanders are probably ex Muslim pows, MSM wants to think that we are all stupid.

I'm guessing you might need 4 or 5 times as many planes for all the equipment and vehicles. I doubt we could physically do something like that in a week if we had to. It seems a lot smarter to me to drive 8 hours away to bases under US control, and start bringing everything home in an organized fashion, than unnecessarily create a logistics nightmare.

Could it be because the person he went after has a habit of deliberately and deceitfully misrepresenting his opponent's position almost every time he disagrees with some one?

It's a far better service to ban the non-combative troll and keep the combative troll? Admittedly, Zippy's position as an apologist for the Fed makes even Swordy's position as an apologist for the Administration look better than it is. But this isn't about that, is it?

US Military Crosses Into Iraq From Syria

    By VOA News
    Updated October 21, 2019 08:10 AM

A convoy of U.S. vehicles is seen after withdrawing from northern Syria, on the outskirts of Dohuk, Iraq, Oct. 21, 2019.

U.S. troops have crossed into Iraq from Syria.
A convoy crossed into Iraq Monday, headed for Erbil. They were pelted with rotten potatoes by angry residents as they drove through the streets of Duhok in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

The troops withdrew from their largest base in northern Syria Sunday, with defense chief Mark Esper saying all American forces leaving Syria would be deployed to western Iraq and could carry out anti-terrorist operations against Islamic State.
Esper said more than 700 U.S. troops would be moved to Iraq and not come "home" as U.S. President Donald Trump had tweeted they would.
Esper did not rule out possible U.S. counterterrorism raids from Iraq into Syria. But he said plans would be developed over time and include discussions with NATO allies in the coming days. He said if U.S. forces return to Syria they would be protected by American aircraft.

This is probably unrelated at this point regarding latest midesat destabilization reports, pending further confirmations:

Jared Kushner is wreaking havoc in the Middle East

The entire Middle East, from Palestine to Yemen, appears set to burst into flames after this week. The region was already teetering on the edge, but recent events have only made things worse. And while the mayhem should be apparent to any casual observer, what’s less obvious is Jared Kushner’s role in the chaos. Kushner is, of course, the US president’s senior advisor and son-in-law. The 36-year-old is a Harvard graduate who seems to have a hard time filling in forms correctly.

Iraq is becoming hot zone again now, Syria is cooling down relatively. Israel's strategic objective there never was to remove Assad, just to cause civil war destabilization through terrorist groups like ISIS and weaken Assad.

All US troops withdrawing from northern Syria are expected to be relocated to western Iraq, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper confirmed.

Iraq’s Sunnis Will Kick Out ISIS After Dumping Maliki: Ex-CIA Official

    By Jeff Stein
    6/25/14

Don’t panic, Iraq’s most powerful Sunnis are telling some old American friends. We’ll take care of these upstart ISIS nuts—as soon as they oust Nouri al-Maliki from Baghdad.
That’s the message Sheikh Ali Hatem al-Suleiman, leader of Iraq’s biggest Sunni tribe, gave John R. Maguire, a retired former CIA deputy station chief in Baghdad, when he visited Iraq three weeks ago to talk about future oil deals in the region.

And Maguire, a veteran senior CIA paramilitary official, believes it.
The tribes that once worked with the Americans to defeat Al-Qaeda in Iraq, he insists, will again rise up again to oust its spawn, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria [ISIS]—a movement so extreme it was denounced by Osama bin Laden’s successor.
“They're already drawing lines around how this is going to work, to get rid of these guys,” Maguire tells Newsweek. “So the fight is coming, but they can't do it until they're sure they have disrupted Maliki and they've got some breathing space to create a different government in Baghdad.”

For now, Maguire says, the Sunni leaders are furnishing tribesmen to fight with the ISIS in hopes that their collaboration will accomplish something they couldn’t do on their own—topple Maliki, who they call “a corrupt puppet of Iran [who] has amassed staggering personal wealth,” and for whom “people are not interested in fighting.”
The Sunnis are using ISIS like a crowbar to oust Maliki, Maguire says, and then they’ll turn on the invaders. Iraq as we know it will cease to exist, splitting into three new proto-states: Sunnistan in the west, Kurdistan in the north and an Iranian Shiite protectorate stretching from Baghdad east to the Arabian Sea and oil port of Basra. ISIS, in this optimistic scenario, will be pounded into oblivion.

"Iraq is righting itself" along tribal and ethnic lines, says Maguire, who now runs a Virginia-based oil consulting business with two other CIA veterans of the Iraq war. He says he’s advised Sunni tribal leaders to spiff up their image.
