Rand has no influence with President Trump! He should run against him in a primary! I am a libertarian strategic genius!

    lmao so true

Libertarians who should be opposing Trump don't because they mistakenly believe Rand has influence with Trump.

I am a Trumptard strategic genius, for I have neutralized my enemies and made them support me...

That would be the strategy that you and other enemies of libertarianism are espousing, and who could blame you.

It's working (for the enemies of libertarianism).

Trump is not an enemy he is an ally that shares many of our interests.
You don't want us to have any allies.

You have plenty of allies: e.g. the entire Republican Party establishment.

We, on the other hand, have very few allies, even among people who call themselves libertarians.

Do you really still think that Rand vociferously and publicly opposing Trump is good strategy? If so, why? I'm not asking if you disagree with Trump or Rand's policies, I'm specifically asking how such a course of action could be beneficial strategically.

I am on the side of Rand Paul and Trump on this.

Screw the neocons and I thank Trump for pushing them back to the Democrat party from whence they came.

Let there be a distinct difference between Rand Paul Republicans and Mitt Romney.

Because, otherwise, the libertarian movement will wither away and effectively cease to exist. This poorly written buddy movie featuring Rand and The Donald serves only to blur the lines between libertarianism and, for example, nationalistic leftism. Libertarians are relatively few in number and will be totally assimilated if those lines aren't kept crisp.

People can now see the warmongers true colors on both sides. War is a big business and they show how much they care about our young men and women. I never thought Lindsey Graham was on the President's side either.

I think Graham is on Trump's side on many issues, but still is a big fan of the interventionist idea when it comes to foreign policy.

Even though Trump is NOT a libertarian, he has done more to advance libertarian goals than any libertarian candidate than I can think of.

+rep. If Trump is such an ally, people like Rand won't need to be hounding him to do the right thing. Does anyone in their right mind also consider Obama and ally just because he refused to bomb Syria when the deep state asked him to.

Withdrawing the military from this region may actually work in their favor somehow. It doesn't make it a bad move but let's not pretend that this may not at all hurt their mission to destabilize and overthrow the Syrian govt. I would have prefered a peaceful transfer of the land to the legitimate Syrian govt but let's just hope the Syrian govt can retake the region away from the turks

Nonsense, your strategy is to keep libertarians few in number and powerless, we need to get Republicans to listen to us and Rand is doing that.

It's ironic that we hear how awful our Republican neighbors. However, we are supposed to find allies with millions of immigrants from failed socialist states.

And if you criticize Demoncrats you are a "partisan" trying to divide "the people" instead of focusing on the rich.

That sounds a lot like leftist propaganda.

I think I finally found the biggest difference between you and I.

I want nothing more than to live in a libertarian society.

You want nothing more than to be able to label yourself a purist libertarian (or Monarchist, or something..), and have no motivation whatsoever to actually live in a libertarian society.

    It depends.

If done in a way like Justin did, then no.

If done in a way like Thomas does, then yes.

Rand's problem will be that he will sell out a bunch of other things in order to move forward on foreign policy (already has). Except that he doesn't have the power over Trump (or is unwilling to exercise it) for fear of pissing off Trump.

There is nothing wrong in this situation with saying good things about Trump and having a working relationship with him. But not at the expense of calling him out on other bad things he does (gun control, deep state appointments, etc).

The Turks invaded northern Syria today, running over the lovely (nationalist, communist) Kurdish allies of the US.

    I'll sleep just fine.

It doesn't much matter who rules Syria, so long as someone does.

...total chaos and civil war (compliments of Bolton-esque efforts at quiet regime change) have been the problem.

People say that I am a communist but if that was true, how come I am against the thieving, invading, backstabbing, Marxists communists in the Kurds? Also, hope the Turks turn around and leave once they have crushed this barbaric and traitorous nomadic tribe. Its only fair that they get dealth with for the last time in that region.

Well jules, I for one cannot quite figure out your politics.

But, in any event, you're exactly right about those rotten swine, barbarian, mercenary, bolshevik, terrorist Kurds.
