Trump’s communications with foreign leader are part of whistleblower complaint that spurred standoff between spy chief and Congress, former officials say

The whistleblower complaint that has triggered a tense showdown between the U.S. intelligence community and Congress involves President Trump’s communications with a foreign leader, according to two former U.S. officials familiar with the matter.
Trump’s interaction with the foreign leader included a “promise” that was regarded as so troubling that it prompted an official in the U.S. intelligence community to file a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general for the intelligence community, said the former officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

It was not immediately clear which foreign leader Trump was speaking with or what he pledged to deliver, but his direct involvement in the matter has not been previously disclosed. It raises new questions about the president’s handling of sensitive information and may further strain his relationship with U.S. spy agencies. One former official said the communication was a phone call.

    Considering this MAGA tweet:

is this any wonder if some of MAGA family members / senior White House advisers are conducting business privately to avoid Deep State interactions?

Kushner Personally Negotiated MIC/Saud Arms Deal

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson describes Jared Kushner’s secret diplomacy
In one embarrassing episode, Tillerson said he didn’t even know his Mexican counterpart was in Washington until he walked into a restaurant and discovered Luis Videgaray dining with Kushner. It came during a delicate time in U.S.-Mexican relations, when Videgaray often went around the State Department to capitalize on his friendship with Kushner.
“I walked back,” Tillerson said. “I could see the color go out of the face of the foreign secretary of Mexico.
“I smiled big, and I said: ‘Welcome to Washington.’ And I said: ‘I don’t want to interrupt what y’all are doing.’ I said: ‘Give me a call next time you’re coming to town.’ And I left it at that.”
Tillerson said the foreign minister later said he was shocked that the issues that Kushner raised with him had not already been cleared at the State Department.
Tillerson, a former CEO of ExxonMobil, said then-Defense Secretary James N. Mattis was also often cut out of policy discussions, with former advisor Stephen K. Bannon acting alongside Kushner.
In another meeting concealed from the secretary of State, Kushner and Bannon at a private dinner in May 2017 discussed with leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates their plans to place a blockade on neighboring Qatar.

Tillerson, surprised when Saudi Arabia and the UAE announced the blockade some time later, indicated the U.S. would remain neutral, since Qatar is also an important ally. Barely had Tillerson spoken when Trump threw his full support behind Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The tense Persian Gulf standoff continues to this day.

Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner questioned over $1.15bn mortgage
Charles Kushner — Jared's father and the head of Kushner Companies, the family firm of which Jared remains a part-owner — discussed the refinancing of 666 Fifth Avenue with Qatari Finance Minister Ali Sharif Al Emadi about a month before the “diplomatic assault” started. They couldn’t reach an agreement.
the failure to broker the deal would be followed only a month later by a Middle Eastern diplomatic row in which Jared Kushner provided critical support to Qatar's neighbors. Led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, a group of Middle Eastern countries, with Kushner's backing, led a diplomatic assault that culminated in a blockade of Qatar.
Robert Weissman, president of the watchdog group Public Citizen, thinks that Jared shouldn’t be allowed to use the US government to “negotiate” a better deal for personal gain:

Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and mercenary Erik Prince enjoy strong ties to the Israeli intelligence industry, while cutting sensitive business deals with Russia, China and the US

Ties between the United States and Israel are set to experience deep turbulence as a recently jailed figure face suspicions for working with Israeli intelligence.
The last time this took place, Jonathan Pollard, former US intelligence analyst, was found guilty of spying for Israel and providing it with top-secret information, leading to a life sentence under the Espionage Act.
Jeffery Epstein was arrested on July 6 for the sex trafficking of minors within the US.
The billionaire shared the same personal network that included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, infamous Blackwater founder Erik Prince, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed, Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.
US President Donald Trump previously referred to Epstein as a “terrific guy”.

It's not reported yet if patriotic factions of Deep State are behind this or partisan Dems in intel community but why recent watchdogging seems to be shining light mostly on globalists/Deep Zionism funded political interests?
Hopefully this whistle blowing won't be about his promise to Ukraine's historic leader. Few days ago there was another watchdog report about suspected espionage in DC by a foreign country that is also close to heart of MAGA's top donor and successful gloablsits Adelson.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the Donald Trump of Ukrainian Politics?

    Global Research, May 08, 2019
Both received support from major Jewish economic players with close ties to Israel (Igor Kolomoysky in Ukraine, Sheldon Adelson in the United States), with Trump subsequently repaying that debt of gratitude by transferring the US embassy to Jerusalem, designating it as the capital of Israel, and recognizing the annexation of the Golan Heights.

Whistleblower complaint about President Trump involves Ukraine, according to two people familiar with the matter

The complaint involved communications with a foreign leader and a “promise” that Trump made, which was so alarming that a U.S. intelligence official who had worked at the White House went to the inspector general of the intelligence community, two former U.S. officials said.
Two and a half weeks before the complaint was filed, Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a comedian and political newcomer who was elected in a landslide in May.

Trump’s foreign aid: Reporting suggests Trump is inviting foreign election interference again

What was Zelensky asked by Trump? (Sipa USA via AP; AP)

Any normal president whose first three years in office were consumed by a probe into credible allegations that his campaign colluded with a foreign power and he then obstructed justice to thwart investigations into those entanglements might try being above board in further relations with other nations.

Donald Trump is no normal president.

Last week, the political world reeled over reports of a supposed Trump “promise” to a foreign leader — which so shocked a high-ranking member of the intelligence community last month that he or she filed an “urgent concern" whistleblower complaint.

By law, such complaints “shall” be promptly relayed to Congress. Instead, the Department of Justice under Attorney General Bill Barr blocked the director of national intelligence from making a referral.

Further reporting suggests why: The complaint appears to include an allegation Trump himself, in communications with newly elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, repeatedly pushed for the opening of an investigation into a company linked to Hunter Biden, younger son of Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden. In 2016, then-Vice President Biden successfully pressed for the dismissal of a corrupt Ukraine prosecutor looking at a case against a company on whose board the younger Biden sat. Some $250 million in approved military aid may have been contingent on Zelensky’s cooperation.

Trump’s Ukraine call reveals a president convinced of his own invincibility

Philip Rucker, Robert Costa, Rachael Bade
    1 day ago

When the July 24 congressional testimony of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III deflated the impeachment hopes of Democrats, President Trump crowed “no collusion” and claimed vindication from accusations that he had conspired with Russia in the 2016 election.

Then, the very next day, Trump allegedly sought to collude with another foreign country in the coming election — pressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to dig up what he believed would be damaging information about one of his leading Democratic challengers, former vice president Joe Biden, according to people familiar with the conversation.

The push by Trump and his personal attorney, Rudolph W. Giuliani, to influence the newly elected Ukrainian leader reveals a president convinced of his own invincibility — apparently willing and even eager to wield the vast powers of the United States to taint a political foe and confident that no one could hold him back.

“We haven’t seen anything like this in my lifetime,” said William A. Galston, a senior fellow in governance at the Brookings Institution who graduated from college just before Watergate. “He appears to be daring the rest of the political system to stop him — and if it doesn’t, he’ll go further.”

Not it's not just CNN... that is blatantly supporting president Donald with this "impeachment" hoax, because poor Donald offered "help" in investigating corruption in the Ukraine to its president (if we can believe the released transcript)...
Surely this will draw attention to Joe's son, Hunter Biden's dealings in the Ukraine.
This makes even the Clinton impeachment look serious!

Have you heard that Donald Trump lobbied the Turner Broadcasting System’s chief executive Phil Kent to make Jeff Zucker president of CNN Worldwide (he got the job in 2012)?

Zucker had earlier transformed Donald Trump into a big “media star” by the reality-TV show “The Apprentice”.
Zucker later introduced Trump to advertisers as the man who saved NBC.

In July 2015, Jeffrey Lord (at the suggestion of Trump) made his CNN debut. Today, Lord is one of 12 Trump-supporters on CNN’s payroll.
On the window sill of Zucker’s office, is a Sean Corcoran cartoon of him shaking hands with Trump (that Zucker thinks very funny), shortly after CNN hired former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

    Zucker said:
I like Donald. I guess I shouldn’t call him that. I like President Trump. He’s affable. He’s funny.
