Duterte Tells Filipinos to ‘Shoot’ Corrupt Officials, Promises No Prison Time

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has invited citizens to shoot, but not kill, any public officials they witness taking bribes, promising immunity from prosecution, provided the corrupt bureaucrat survives.
The unorthodox presidential ‘order’ also called on Filipinos to beat up corrupt officials they encounter, the Manilla Bulletin reports, despite the likely disastrous consequences for law and order.
“If you pay a tax, a fee or get a certificate, and the officials ask for a bribe, hit them. If you have weapons, you can shoot them, but don’t kill, because during the proceedings you may not receive a pardon,” the outspoken leader said. He added that those who take him up on the offer “will not be sent to prison, but will only be seriously punished physically.”

The better way to reduce bribery is to increase taxes and pay your officials better. They deserve to get paid a decent wage for the great work they do.
It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

Shoot, but don't kill. If you do shoot, we're gonna f*ck you up via a major beating, and probably torture you.

    If they die, you die.

Nope, his message is quite clear.

He is saying, if they try to take your eye, you can take their eye, but realize it will cost your eye.
    You will live.

I think many people will feel it is worth it.
Going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

If someone tries to take your eye and you take their eye they will take your eye?

    Sounds... ridiculous.

The best way is to reduce bribery is to offer them cash under the table to stop accepting bribes.

Yes, a good citizen does not assault a police officer demanding a bribe.

I mean a good citizen should, and a revolutionary would, shoot him. But, it is obvious it is human nature to NEVER fight back against Third World bribe taking.
Literally hundreds of thousands of third world bribes are demanded every day by crooked cops and military and narco lords, often all the same.

Telling the citizens if they fight back, he might pardon them... ....interesting move.
The problem is, I am sure half of his loyal forces are part of the corruption racket.
It's just a way of life over there.

So, would I be willing to take 30 lashes from a cane, for crippling the next guy with a badge to demand 6000 pesos, or vacation is over?

    Maybe only 20.

Be a great story. And I'd finally stick one of those wretched $#@!s.

I'm sure the corruption is horrible indeed, then again , in our own Country , we have
Hillary Clinton et al, caught red handed in so many counts of espionage, admitted by her
and Comey themselves, not to mention the Mueller / Clinton Uranium / Foundation deals
with Russia. The worst of the worst, at the top of the food chain , and not a fkg thing is
done about it, no justice is even begun to be served.
Corruption lives in America , at a level we can't begin to touch.
