I think she'll take more votes from the Demoncrat than Trump.

She probably would not be allowed in debates. Trump would get no say in whether she participates or not, because everybody knows she would easily split the party, so of course Trump wants in the debates.

I do not think she will run as independent. She owes the Democrat Party a lot. Might get one of those mystery shiners if she tries, and then she'll lose in the end to the chosen one anyway.

They could build her up and then have her drop out like what happened with Perot, I'm not sure how that would affect the race but it might be used to sour people on 3rd parties/independents like how they used Perot dropping out.

Sanders isn't a Democrat, either. He holds his senate seat as an "independent" who caucuses with the Democrats.

Sanders also filed as both an "independent" and as a Democrat for the 2020 presidential election. Gabbard filed only as a Democrat.
