    Ms. Monopoly?

Do We Need A Ms. Monopoly?

Hasbro is releasing Ms. Monopoly where women make more money than men.

The old Monopoly didn’t seem particularly gender-biased. Women and men could buy properties, get sent to jail, and invest in railroads without gender barriers. But Hasbro thought it wise to create a new Monopoly game to recognize the accomplishments of women. Do we need a Ms. Monopoly?

According to Hasbro, Ms. Monopoly highlights the contributions of women. The company’s press release reported, “Instead of building houses, you build business headquarters. From inventions like WiFi to chocolate chip cookies, solar heating and modern shapewear, Ms. Monopoly celebrates everything from scientific advancements to everyday accessories—all created by women.”

Hasbro also touts that Ms. Monopoly is also the first-ever game where women make more money than men, which is supposed to give women a taste of the financial benefit typically enjoyed by men in the real world. When women pass “Go,” they collect $240, while men passing “Go” collect a mere $200.

Well, it was invented before the internet. Some people used to play games for hours back then. With other people in the same room.

I've never had one go that long. Even after having to pause and resume later. Risk was always a favorite though.

    LOL cookies and shapewear.

The other two - WiFi and solar heating - were invented by men.

yeah, no fair. Their games contained ACTUAL money.
    False advertising.

Besides the Hallmark movie "oh, isn't this touching and profound" music, the other annoying thing about this ad is just the fact that this "Girl Power!" theme is still dragging on.... and on and on and on. Ok. We get it. You invented something and you're female. Fantastic. Who cares? "I'm female and I did a "historically male-associated" thing! Isn't that wonderful!! Girl POWER!!" Just do what you want to do and stop yammering about it. No-one cares.
