# Thread: Van Packed With A 1,000 Gallons Of Gas Found Ahead Of Trump's Visit To Baltimore

1. Firstly, while this whole story seems unlikely to be much of anything significant, I don't know for a fact, and don't care enough to do any research. So I have no opinion on that score. However, here's a fun fact:

Diesel fuel weighs approximately 1 pound more per gallon than does gasoline. So 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel would weigh approx. 1,000 lbs. more than a similar amount of gas.

Make of it what you will.

1000 gallons = 26.1444 sq ft. So, we need to know the type of van and its interior dimensions. I suppose one could install a rubberized bladder that would hold a liquid in a most non-conformed shape.

When people figure out that magical Trumpkin vans can move so much cargo, they'll make trucks obsolete.
Dodge Promasters max out at 4,500, and like others have said you could overload it a bit.

This was my exact first thought. I pictured my 275 gallon oil tank and multiplied x 3. Three oil tanks not fitting in a van.

7. I hope they at least got a ticket for being overweight.

8. It's not uncommon to carry fuel in the back of your van
for the weed eater, provided it's for hunting purposes, then of
course covered under @TheTexan 's copy of the
2nd amendment.

glad I could assist with that.
With about 3+ tons of fuel the van would need the springs and frame from a Peterbilt. Need to finish the math...

As to you, I guess its impractical to upgrade the suspension of a van? Or that the van used wasn't a minivan but a commercial model with a higher weight capacity?
And the max weight capacity, that's for practical driving purposes, not "hey, lets fill this \$#@!er up to the brim, cuz we are gonna blow it sky high and don't care if we blow out its suspension because its going to kingdom come in 2 days.

for all any of us know, it could have been parked in place, then loaded after already parked. maybe that's why it was noticed because it was so low to the ground.
Thats how I would do it . Park it in place and get Dankes nephew to load it later.

If diesel was found then it gets even worse for the OMG stuff.

14. Wonder what all that gas was going to be used for.

Is the weed eater more likely to be used to kill people, or deer?

Seems questionable.

16. ## Don't blame the news source, when the city officials are the stupid ones.

It only had 80 gallons of suspected stolen fuel in it. Trump is not due in Baltimore for two more days. He is not at risk from the van.
Trump recently called Baltimore a "a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess." and a "dangerous and filthy place" in a tweet.
Look at you, dishonestly trying to blame Zero Hedge over misinformation that came directly from Baltimore's own moronic officials!

The Baltimore Sun story - which you yourself linked to - states:
city officials said they were told the van contained approximately 1,000 gallons of gasoline and Fire Chief Roman Clark repeated the line during a news conference around noon.”
...and that’s what every news sources originally reported! Obviously, the story was updated later as correct info was teased out by more reliable people. Regardless, although Baltimore is still a dangerous, infested and filthy place - there was no intelligent reason for you to bring up Trump's accurate statement on this separate issue, in this particular thread - so it's clear you are not here to get at the facts.

Here’s one of the '1000 gal. gas' announcements a few typically-inept Baltimore officials put out yesterday:

17. Maybe they meant cups, not gallons?

Exactly.

22. Sometimes ounces can be confused with gallons.

Thanks for a neg rep for quoting the source of your post.

It's amazing that those cops are standing that close to a diesel explosive assassination truck.

When was the picture taken?

And why do you keep calling it diesel when it was gasoline?

Swordsmyth is sad it was not more significant and can't seem to let it go. Kinda like Trump when he is shown to be wrong and is unable to admit it. Better get out the sharpies!

You're going to need to go deeper.

That van isn't capable of being the Trump-killing murdervan of your dreams. It's gotta be a fake deep state replacement van.
