Greta Thunberg to Congress: ‘You’re not trying hard enough. Sorry’

At a meeting of the Senate climate crisis task force on Tuesday, lawmakers praised a group of young activists for their leadership, their gumption and their display of wisdom far beyond their years. They then asked the teens for advice on how Congress might combat one of the most urgent and politically contentious threats confronting world leaders: climate change.

Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish activist who has galvanized young people across the world to strike for more action to combat the impact of global warming, politely reminded them that she was a student, not a scientist – or a senator.

“Please save your praise. We don’t want it,” she said. “Don’t invite us here to just tell us how inspiring we are without actually doing anything about it because it doesn’t lead to anything.

“If you want advice for what you should do, invite scientists, ask scientists for their expertise. We don’t want to be heard. We want the science to be heard.”

In remarks meant for Congress as a whole, she said: “I know you are trying but just not hard enough. Sorry.”

The audience laughed. Supporters broke into applause. Senator Ed Markey, the Massachusetts Democrat who co-sponsored the Green New Deal and leads the Senate task force, was perhaps surprised by her bluntness. But he smiled.

Seated at the table with the teens were some of the most sympathetic and vocal supporters of bold action on climate change in Congress. But facing a Republican-controlled Senate and a hostile White House, the prospect of enacting reforms at the scale and scope called for by activists – and many scientists – is bleak.

“We need your leadership,” he told Thunberg. “Young people are the army politically, which has arrived in the United States. You put a spotlight on this issue in a way that it has never been before. And that is creating a new X factor.”

Still, Markey vowed to try: “We hear you. We hear what you’re saying and we will redouble our efforts.”

Obama on Climate Kid Greta Thunberg: ‘One of Our Planet’s Greatest Advocates’

Former President Barack Obama praised 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg as “one of our planet’s greatest advocates” in a Tuesday afternoon Facebook post.

“At just 16 years old, Greta Thunberg is already one of our planet’s greatest advocates,” Obama wrote, praising her for her climate advocacy.

“Her age might have something to do with it. With full knowledge that her generation will bear the heaviest burden of climate change, she’s unafraid to believe that progress is possible—and fight for real change. She’s an example of why Michelle and I started the Obama Foundation — because we believe in a future that’s shaped by the courage and hope of young people like Greta.”

Of course Obama supports thunberg. He loved pushing taxes as climate friendly. I am sure thunberg would love carbon taxes to.

'This is science': Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg testifies before Congres
Climate activist Greta Thunberg testifies before House

Scroll back up to restore default view.

Appearing on Capitol Hill for the second straight day Wednesday, Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg told U.S. lawmakers she did not want them to listen to her.
“I want you to listen to the scientists,” Thunberg said in her testimony before the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, where she appeared with other youth leaders. “I want you to unite behind science. And then I want you to take action.”
Instead of prepared remarks, Thunberg submitted a 2018 report on global warming by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which warned about the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C that researchers say is likely between 2030 and 2052 if it continues at the current rate.
“This is not political views or my opinions,” she said. “This is science.”
The hearing was part of a series of events intended to raise awareness of global warming before a planned “climate strike” on Friday, when students around the world are being encouraged to walk out of schools and jobs to demand action on climate change before the annual United Nations General Assembly later this month.
Thunberg chastised members of the Senate Climate Change Task Force on Tuesday for inaction.
“Please save your praise. We don’t want it,” Thunberg said. “Don’t invite us here to tell us how inspiring we are without doing anything about it because it doesn’t lead to anything.”
Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunberg testifies on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. (Photo: Olivier Douliery/AFP/Getty Images)Jamie Margolin, a 17-year-old climate change activist from Seattle, also scolded committee members on Wednesday for empty praise.
“You’re promising me lies,” Margolin said. “Everyone who will walk up to me after this testimony saying I have such a bright future ahead of me will be lying to my face. It doesn’t matter how talented we are, how much work we put in, how many dreams we have. The reality is, my generation has been committed to a planet that is collapsing.”
President Trump and his administration have been widely criticized for rolling back Obama-era environmental protections, withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord and resisting the conclusions by the vast majority of scientists that global warming has been caused by humans.
On Monday, Thunberg met with former President Barack Obama at his Washington, D.C., offices.
“No one is too small to have an impact and change the world,” Thunberg said in a video posted to Twitter by the former president’s charitable foundation. “So do everything that you can.”
Thunberg, who has been nominated for a Nobel Prize for her work raising awareness about climate change, has become an inspirational figure for fellow teens. Last month, she sailed from Europe to the United States on a zero-emission yacht.
Arriving in New York City after her 15-day trip across the Atlantic Ocean, she was asked if she had a message for Trump.
“My message for him is listen to the science,” Thunberg said. “And he obviously doesn't do that.

“You’re Not Trying Hard Enough!” – Swedish Teen Activist Exploited by Left Lectures US Congress on Alleged Climate Change

When the left isn’t killing unborn babies, they’re exploiting children.

First they trotted out David Hogg to lecture us on the 2nd Amendment, now a 16-year-old from Sweden is lecturing us on non-existent global warming.

16-year-old Swedish ‘Climate Change’ activist Greta Thunberg appeared before US lawmakers on Wednesday to lecture the US on the climate hoax.

Meanwhile China and India continue to be the world’s biggest polluters because Climate Change legislation isn’t about the environment, it’s about a global scheme to redistribute wealth.

Thunberg has a myriad of mental health issues. She is autistic, has obsessive-compulsive disorder, and suffers from Asperger syndrome and the left is pushing her out onto the world stage and exploiting her.

“Please save your praise. We don’t want it,” Thunberg said. “Don’t invite us here to just tell us how inspiring we are without actually doing anything about it because it doesn’t lead to anything.”

“If you want advice for what you should do, invite scientists, ask scientists for their expertise. We don’t want to be heard. We want the science to be heard.”

Thunberg then blasted Congress and said: “I know you are trying but just not hard enough. Sorry.”

Clearly this child has no clue what she’s talking about, but the left is treating her like she’s the savior of the world.

Global climate strike: Greta Thunberg and school students lead climate crisis protest – live updates

Schoolchildren throng streets in vast global climate strike

Crowds of children skipped school Friday to join a global strike against climate change, heeding the rallying cry of teen activist Greta Thunberg and demanding adults act to stop environmental disaster.

It was expected to be the biggest protest ever against the threat posed to the planet by climate change.

Yelling slogans and waving placards, children and adults across Asia and the Pacific kicked off the protest, which spread later to Africa and Europe with crowds filling the streets in Paris, London and Berlin.

"We are the future," said Vihaan Agarwal, 15, protesting in Delhi.

"We believe there is no point in going to school if we are not going to have a future to live in."

Organisers forecast one million participants overall. In Australia alone, they said more than 300,000 children, parents and supporters rallied.

Her congressional testimony is basically the most elaborate book report in the history of elementary education.

Imagine being a 60 year old congressman being made to listen to a child repeat grade school indoctrination. Even worse, imagine the stupidity of the same 60 year old believing that the child, robotically repeating propaganda, is the pinnacle of modern intellect.

Read the links I posted earlier in the thread about the Manufacturing of Greta Thunberg. It's really not the "left" propping her up. It's the same ol' banks and megacorps funding and directing the green initiative that are propping up the organizations that directly prop up Thunberg. Rockefellers, Dow Chemicals, Shell Oil, Goldman, etc propping up Greenpeace, WWF, e.g., who in turn prop up Thunberg. I really advise people to read the full 6 part series at that link I posted earlier in the thread to understand what's really going on. The usual suspects want to "unlock" the roughly $100T pension and investment fund markets that are tied into the current status quo and redirect that money back into their coffers via "green initiatives and technology". More specifically, a giant wealth transfer from western markets aimed at developing out banking and corporate control of currently "unbanked" areas like in Africa. The catch is that they need everyone to consent to it and buy in....enter Greta and associated public mouthpieces to sell it.

eta: Plus, with a giant chunk of that "locked" money tied to aging western boomers, getting it redirected and spent elsewhere so it is not "inheritable", and then cashed out, by heirs in the west (inheritances are bad for socialism agenda) is another aim.
