Meet Con Artist Andrew Yang and his Freedom Dividend

    See Andrew’s Story

Con artist Yang tells us how new technologies have “destroyed more than 4 million US jobs”. Con artist Yang is counting on the American people being too stupid to know that millions of new jobs are actually created when new technologies are introduced.

Con artists Yang also wants to use the force of government taxation to implement what he calls the “Freedom Dividend”, a universal basic income (UBI) for every American adult over the age of 18: “$1,000 a month, no strings attached.” [NOTE; America’s population above 18 is approximately 209 million.].

Con artist Yang proposes a new tax on those evil companies “benefiting most from automation”, to finance his UBI. But this is nothing more than a calculated gimmick ___ the old and tired attack on the wealth ___ a rope-a-dope scheme which blatantly promises to abuse the power of federal taxation, using it to buy votes at $1,000 a month for each vote, or about $ 2.5 TRILLION a year rise in federal taxation to buy his votes, which would dwarf the annual federal pay out for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid

And this Con Artist is still in the race and qualifies to be in the next debate? Could con artist Yang be right, and that a majority of the American people are actually as stupid as Yang believes they are?

    JWK

They are not "liberals" or "progressives". The Democrat Party Leadership is infested with communists and socialists who delude, lure and addict our nations needy with free government cheese.

To be accurate, automation does “kill” certain jobs, but automation also creates jobs. I know first hand how automation actually creates new jobs. I used to deliver ice to people with ice boxes when I was about 12 years old. Eventually refrigerators eliminated this job for countless youths in New York City. The good news was, later in life I learned refrigeration and air-conditioning repair, and earned far more money repairing refrigeration equipment than I ever could earn delivering ice.

Yang is a con artist, and looking to buy votes with federal tax revenue as are the rest of the democrats running for office. His immigrant parents should be ashamed of him.

I think the funniest thing about Yang would be, after 8 years as president, nobody would have received any UBI check.
It just would never even happen.

An income floor is a far superior alternative to the current bureaucratic welfare state. We should have switched over to a negative income tax as Milton Friedman prescribed in the 1970s, when federal welfare was still relatively restrained.

Also, to point at past patterns of what automation does to jobs is not actually engaging with the arguments that are actually, currently being made. Andrew Yang is not a socialist, SJW or conman, whatever else you think about his policies.

So do you like UBI or minimum wage? And if there is UBI, does it make minimum wage absolute, as no one would work for less than the sum total of all of their free benefits?

Not that some people would work for any amount less than 4x what they can get by doing nothing. It’s not an equivalent comparison. At the exact same rate, anyone would rather not work if paid for that. Even a slight increase in work pay would not outweigh the benefit of doing nothing vs. working.

$1000 a month is a good start but $3000 a month would be much more reasonable.

There should be a system where nobody makes zero dollars a year, but companies shouldn't be forced to pay for labor above the market rate, ideally.

The way the welfare system works now is that money is taken away from people who get a job or a raise while on welfare, which creates perverse incentives. UBI wouldn't have that problem. Getting a new job or getting a promotion would always mean making more money on net, unlike today.

There would be people who would do nothing and just collect a check, but that's true today too. Welfare isn't going anywhere, so we might as well try to make the best welfare system we can. I think a negative income tax qualifies.

Andrew Yang sobbed in front of a crowd yesterday. This is kind of a requirement in the Democrat Party. It is the Party of emotion, not logic. During Democrat debates, the majority of candidates are emotional and on the verge of tears one minute, in a fit of rage the next. Emotional hysteria.

Nice theory. Now it’s time for real world problems:

    - How do you pay for it? Are cuts going to be made?
    - Who gets this money? Non-citizens? Anyone? Recent immigrants? People who no longer reside in the US? Global?
    - How do you prevent fraud?
    - Inflation. How much will it create?

In the real world, all of those things will be unsolvable.

I think that intent was probably true. I think a good measure of that is that is to see how the middle class has been destroyed where once more people enjoyed the fruits of their labors. Not so much nowadays.

Another thought: Are machines the new middle class?

Socialist democrats running for office will promise food on the table, free public housing, health care for all, guaranteed income, free college tuition, and other niceties by taxing the so called rich; and if by chance they ever do gain political power because of such promises made, their socialist iron-fisted dependency will enslave the very fools who elected them.
